• "A fabulous stay highly recommended!"

  ! Great place to relax and hang ten!! This was our third visit to the Chalet and we decided to book it for two weeks as our previous visits seemed too short. The Chalet is ideal for the dogs and us, very comfortable and homely with all the mod cons you’d expect to find in a holiday home. Our visit this time was a delightful experience we were able to spend more time relaxing and enjoying the views and amenities in and around the Chalet. It’s so wonderful for our two dogs as the garden and adjoining field gave them a whole new experience and we could see them also relaxing into their new environment. The surrounding beaches and Bodmin Moor were great places to stretch our legs and take in the beautiful scenery. Thanks for a wonderful visit

• "First impression very favourable but then we found Stains on double mattress."

  The 2 single beds were like sleeping on the floor. The duvets on single beds to small and kept sliding off, we whent and purchased some of our own for our stay. The garden needed some TLC, a simple strim around decking after lawn was cut would make all the difference and lawn needed cutting shorter in order to clean up after dogs. The 2 lots of patio furniture needed to go to the tip, they were covered in rust. No parasol with patio furniture. Decking required cleaning and oiling as it looked very tired. The two gates in garden need proper locking mechanisms as a piece of rope and a bundge cord doesn't look very professional. Front outside light didn't work so had to use torch. Skirting boards coming of in places. A couple of fans would have been nice to keep inside cool especially at night as water proof mattress protectors cause sweating

  Thanks for the feedback John - most of these things have now been addressed: 1. The double mattress has been cleaned 2. Double thickness soft toppers have been installed on the single beds 3. Garden strimming and lawn mowing has been completed 4. Garden furniture has been replaced. 5. The parasol was removed as it was a safety hazard as in a high wind (we're on top of a hill in Cornwall) it takes off and is liable to hit a person or a large window. 6. The main gate now has a proper locking mechanism. 7.The front outside light has been replaced. 8. There was a large table fan in the kitchen cupboard but it probably wasn't obvious. • "After a 13 year absence from Cornwall, Orchard Chalet was the perfect place to stay."

  We have four small dogs, and they immediately loved the garden, and the extended paddock area. The chalet has everything you would ever need, and provides you with a stunning view every morning when you wake up. Lynne made us feel very welcome, and Mark helped us find the place when we first showed up with a confused satnav. We’ll definitely be back, and miss the place already.   It's in a tranquil setting with beautiful views. There are plenty of tourist attractions & places to explore nearby. There are lots of lovely places nearby to eat out too. A perfect spot to recharge your batteries.

• "Our second stay at Orchard Chalet……."

  It was awesome and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay as it covers all of those areas and my Labrador Retriever William adores this place, he loves the decking area to sleep in the sun!! Never seen him looking so relaxed, our little Jack Russell loves the big field to run around in and loves looking out at the wonderful views. Many thanks to Mark and Lyn for another wonderful week

• "Fantastic property, every utensil u could need & more."

  Was our 2nd visit & we love it. The outdoor area for the pooches is also a fab size. Could even get a sitter for them as we did have a meal booked at The Sardine Factory for my other half birthday treat. Going to book again for next year, look forward to our visits

• "What a lovely place to stay."

  Four adults and four pooches., big enough and cosy enough for all of us. Our stay was in the middle of January. We were extremely lucky with the weather, it didn't rain at all. The kitchen was well stocked up with utensils and crockery. There was even a drawer full of tea towels. Moving to the front room, enough room for us to sit down and enough watching TV. The bathroom was lovely too, again stocked up with flannels, even a hair dryer and straighners in the drawer. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. But was was more lovely was the really big windows showing of the fabulous view. Wow that was amazing and when the sun shone you were lovely warm and toasty. So the icing on the cake for us was the lovely big lawn for the dogs to play in, they absolutely enjoyed themselves. The owners couldn't do enough for us, offering to come and let the dogs out for a toilet break if we wanted to go out for the day without them. We did go out to the Smugglers Inn for meal without the pooches which was a real treat. We visited Seaton Beach which was lovely, you can park next to the beach all on one level and Golitha Falls, after one walk there we stopped and had lunch it was amazing. Both these places are very dog friendly. The only downside to the holiday was that we had to go home. Would we visit again, YES in a heartbeat... Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

• "The chalet is a wonderful little gem that I was told about by fellow dog owner where I live!"

  ! We tracked it down and WOW !! We had an amazing stay a big THANK YOU to Mark and Lyn, our first holiday for 9 years and it was phenomenal. The countryside and beaches in the area were amazing and our mutts had a glorious time. So all in all we all had an awesome time!! • "Once again we had an excellent holiday at Orchard Chalet."

  The accommodation is clean, comfortable and contained everything we could want. The garden was a great size for the big dogs to potter in, not that they pottered that much as they had lots of beach walks and swims! The location is ideal in that it is lovely to retreat from the crowds after visiting the popular places and relax in the peace and quiet.

• "We enjoyed our stay at the chalet very much, it's ideal if you have dogs with you as it has a good size garden with a lovely view and isn't overlooked."

  Perfect spot to stay and go exploring the south coast so we have booked up again for next year. A couple of small changes possibly would make our stay even better those being the addition of a dishwasher, washer dryer for those rainy days and strimming down the stinging nettles to tidy the look of the garden.

• "We were welcomed by Lyn who we found to be friendly and helpful."

  The property was really suitable for our 3 dogs with easy access to the enclosed rear garden, and field. The property was well equipped and compact not much worktop space in the kitchen but we seemed to manage. A great base for travelling around with plenty of dog friendly beaches.

• "This is the second time we've been back."

  We love the chalet & the situation it's in. The only thing would be to have black out curtains in the twin room, we had our twin 4 year old grandchildren with us & the room was still in daylight until at least 21.00hrs. Lyn goes above & beyond to make your stay a good one.

• "Orchard Chalet is conveniently situated for the general area, with the amenities of Looe and Liskeard within easy reach."

  It’s not at the luxury end, but is certainly higher than budget level - a very practical place, in good order, everything works as it should, good shower, warm & cosy, large garden area for dogs and terrific views. The twin beds are, bluntly, a bit on the basic side (thinnish mattresses, lacking support) and perhaps could be upgraded. (The other mattress is fine). The well used road is close by, so not the quietest when outside, but convenience often involves compromise! We 3 people, with 3 dogs, were there for 3 nights during Storm Noa and remained snug and safe throughout. Owner representation was friendly and unobtrusive. There was a clear positive slant towards the dogs, and that we were ALL made welcome was much appreciated, making our stay that much more relaxing. We all agreed we’d recommend the place.

  You certainly got a bit of a blasting…I think the windmill was working overtime that day… I’m onto getting the bed’s changed,soo sorry for that… I hope you gave your parents a lovely send off, what a beautiful place for them to rest… Thankyou for the review,I really appreciate any feedback and gladly take the blunt stuff as we have never done this before and I like to make things perfect…ESPECIALLY for the fur babies Hope to see you all soon x Property Owner

• "We spent a very enjoyable few days at Orchard Chalet in late March."

  The accommodation is warm, cosy and comfortable and extremely practical for dog owners, especially with the enclosed garden area. The views are spectacular, and although the weather was changeable during our stay ( just as we expected) , it was good to watch the dramatic skyscapes of cloud and rain over the hills surrounding the property. The location is great for access to both the south and north coasts , being only a minute from the A38, but we were not bothered by traffic noise. Friendly owners and we thoroughly recommend it to dog owners and non owners alike.

• "Fantastic chalet , so handy having the enclosed field where my small dogs can roam without worry they can escape."

  Owners at back but out of sight and never seen. So close to So many great places in Cornwall so great for exploring. Very peaceful. They have a Smart TV, and a Tassimo coffee machine for the coffee connoisseur (not on description). Feeling very relaxed. Will definitely come again.

  I was travelling alone so it would have helped me a lot. Otherwise a lovely chalet with a very helpful owner.

  Oh that’s strange… I left porch,bedroom , side lamp in sitting room and kitchen lights on for you as you were turning up after dark. Also left heating on…..I’ll ask mark if he turned it all off,.. The white box to operate heating is right on table,no need for a folder Property Owner

  The views were stunning - when it wasn't raining, which it did regularly, but that didn't stop us. The chalet was clean, comfortable and warm. It is very well located to visit beautiful places. It is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The large porch was brilliant for drying 3 large dogs before they came in Whilst we were there we booked for next year!!! I can't wait!!! • "We stayed at this very dog friendly cottage/ chalet at the end of November 2022."

  We were attending an event in Torpoint on one of the days and needed to leave the dog. We were attracted to the cottage because the neighbour offers a dog sitting service. Our dog was walked and was well looked after on the day he was left. The cottage has a grassed back garden with access to the field behind for letting the dog out for a run. The owner and neighbours are really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this cottage. Very dog friendly, lovely, clean, 2 bedroom, Wi-Fi and spectacular views.

• "We had a woderfull week, everything we needed was provided, the property is warm and comfy, great wi fi."

  Our 3 dogs loved the large garden and feild to burn off their energy. The location is great as there are beaches and forest walks all within a 20 min drive. Local supermarkets 10 min drive. A lovely, peacfull view from the property. We enjoyed so much we have already booked for next year. Owners are very nice and welcoming.. See you next year.

  This did effect access to the chalet…however the the host was very apologetic and remedied the situation by organising alternate access.

• "A lovely cottage and the views from the back are amazing."

  Enclosed garden was nice, my dog loved it. A few points the front needs sorting looks like a building site. Needs black out curtains in the bedrooms and the water pressure needs sorting. Once you are inside it is quite and a relaxing place to stay.

  Hi Lorraine, thanks for feedback…we are so lucky to have our own large garden and field for the doggies… Yes the wood leftover from the building work looks bad,thankfully next week they have arranged to come pick it up…also they are painting the huge Nissan hut again.. While you were staying,little did we know but like lots of our neighbors; our well dried up….yes pressure was bad because of it…you were lucky,the next day the well was empty..what a nightmare,luckily we have a builder that tapped into mains and rigged up a massive farmer’s container of water..The blackout curtains is a good idea,I’ll look into that….glad you had a good week,hope to see you and your lovely husky again xxx Property Owner

• "We had a lovely week and would say that it was a very relaxing place to stay especially with a dog."

  The welcome pack complete with dog treats and throws in case of needing them for the furniture were a nice touch. Normally you have stern warnings about keeping dogs of this and out of that. The garden and extra access to the adjoining field was an added bonus. The views were stunning and the cottage was very comfortable.

• "A fantastic and cosy, yet spacious home from home."

  The views from every room are beautiful and the space provided for the dogs to run is so generous. The owners are sweet and welcoming, but also allow you to have full privacy with no fuss. A very clean, neat and modern cottage/chalet on one floor, with everything you could need for a holiday away. It is very well situated for a range of excursions, from dog walks and hiking to beaches and fun days out with the whole family. Thanks to Lyn for making us feel welcome right from the very start.   Could do with some instructions about how to operate the cooker, (Turning it on was not obvious) and the fact there is a heater under the cooker by the floor. We really enjoyed our stay and the owner and the neighbours were very friendly. Enclosed garden for the dogs was a great bonus and all in all a great holiday Thank you

  Really clean accommodation. Very comfortable. Close to Looe and Polperro, Bodmin Moor, the Jamaica Inn restaurant and bar and the Eden Project.

• "We really enjoyed our week in this lovely chalet."

  The rooms are light and airy, the garden is enclosed and there is an adjacent field to walk them in if you don't fancy braving the crowds of peak season Cornwall. The chalet is peaceful as it stands by itself and has wonderful views across the local agricultural land (though the view is marred slightly by the wind turbine a couple of fields away). We would definitely visit again.

  The large garden was fantastic for our two dogs to enjoy and the views were amazing. Tha owners left a welcome pack which was a nice surprise and they were helpful but not too full on and left you to enjoy our stay .we would definitely recommend

• "Lovely place, has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and access to a large secure paddock to run your dog, peaceful and great views across the countryside."

  Nicely placed for easy reach of seaside towns and access to the wider countryside. The bathroom could do with a privacy window blind, and the 4pm check in doesn't leave you much spare time to look around on the first day. A BBQ would be a great addition for summer evenings.

I also think a bbq would be great,in fact have been talking to mark about it today…I’ve seen a few on Pinterest I quite like,mark will get the builder onto it.
