  • "Loved it ,very good in all respects,."

Only thing to let us down was the weather.

  • "Excellent property and location."

Sheila made us feel most welcome on arrival. Thank you for the cake. Duck House is well equipped, very clean and meets all your needs. We had a lovely week, our dog loved Sandymouth beach amongst a choice of beaches. Brendon Arms in Bude is worth a visit for food and drink. Truly recommended if you need to get away from it all!

  • "We absolutely loved our stay in Duck Cottage from meeting Sheila and her gorgeous collie Georgia."

The accommodation was everything you could ask for and so comfortable. The location was perfect for us (quiet) and off the beaten track, we would return in a heartbeat.

  • "Duck House is in a stunning spot with breathtaking views from every window upstairs in the living space."

The beds were extremely comfy, with a good shower and a great kitchen in which to cook up a storm! The conversion has been done very well, and the log burner was a massive plus for us, nothing nicer than settling down with a glass of something fruity in front of the fire after a day exploring! My 2 dogs loved the place, and enjoyed enthusiastically meeting everyone they saw, including lovely Georgia, Sheila's gorgeous dog. I would highly recommend Duck House, Bude and the surrounding areas are great, and the local pub does a fantastic Sunday roast! Thank you Sheila, my mother and I had a lovely and much needed break, your welcome (including the cake) was gratefully received and we hope to be back. PS not sure if it was us or not, but having spent one rainy afternoon doing one of your 500 piece puzzles, we found there was one piece missing. Hopefully the cleaners will come across it under a chair!

Thankyou so much for your kind words and I'm delighted you loved Duck House as much as we do. You, your mum and the dogs will be welcome back anytime. And as for that puzzle . . . in the bin! I shall enjoy buying a replacement or two, and testing them first! Property Owner

  • "Duck house is an amazing property, definitely has 'wow factor'."

It has been sympathetically transformed from an old barn and contains everything needed for a wonderful holiday. Sheila greeted us with a warm welcome and went out of her way to help us with anything. Sam and Helen allowed us to spend hours in the lambing shed, which we found fascinating, and answered our many questions. THANK YOU to everyone. We will be back. Joan & Alan

Thanks so much for your kind words, and you were lovely guests to have. So pleased you enjoyed Duck House, and as you said when you arrived, the photos really don't do it justice. The sea views are so amazing - must get some new pictures done! Property Owner

About the location

STRATTON

Bude 2.5 miles.

A charming small town close to the resort town of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its lovely old church, local pubs and good array of amenities, it’s a fantastic base for exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rocky pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path and many other rights of way winding over the cliff tops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea are a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside, while a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, clubs and restaurants take care of any other wants and needs. Bude Canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town and rowing a boat through its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the town there are also two golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley and leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
