  • "Loved the property."

Deceptively spacious and good location. Unfortunately we had to clean the kitchen before use and there were lots of mouse droppings in the cupboard under the sink. This put us off using the floor cupboards. The fridge needed cleaning and there was food left in the freezer. We had to call out maintenance for the tumble dryer, which was very prompt, but unfortunately had to wait for a new part. Washing facilities were really important to us as we had 4 very little children, including a 6 week old baby. Two of the smoke alarms were beeping when we arrived and needed new batteries. These should be checked before guests arrive, but maintenance replaced them, when they came to repair the tumble dryer. Having said all that, we would definitely stay there again. We have stayed in numerous North Cornish properties, visiting family and Lamorna was perfect for large family groups. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your visit but thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we sorted them for you. Your comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays. We hope to welcome you back to north Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Hi we had a lovley stay and enjoyed the apartment, we found that there was a heating issue that didn’t seem to resolve its self until the last few days but not a huge issue as we used the log fire, we do have some recommendations that would improve your apartment- no equipment for log burner which is essential for using log burner and more accessories for kitchen as the frying pan was sticking and not much cooking equipment like trays ect we also believe a welcome pack and a few logs would be nice gesture but that’s your decision."

Otherwise a lovley stay and we will recommend you place to friends and would come again if we decide to visit port Issac again, thank you for having us .The Stockers..

  • "Beautiful house, ideal for larger families."

Location is perfect with just a short walk down the hill to the harbour. Restaurants and lovely shops all in walking distance. Our only concern is the parking situation which seems to be a problem for all of Port Isaac. We went as a family of seven with two cars and parking was a struggle at times.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. We appreciate the gripe with parking, as an old fishing village, Port Isaac is somewhat known for it! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "The house layout was great, it accommodated 7 adults, 1 infant and small dog great."

There is lots of snagging and unsightly things - horrendous mould problem, damp walls, broken door handles, decking to the main door is slippery. The main feedback I’d give the owner is - if you’re paying a cleaner/care taker, they are not doing what you’re paying for. The house was not clean/dusted. The floors dont seem to get mopped, our infant walked around for a matter of minutes on arrival and his hands and feet were black! There is thick dust everywhere, huge dusty cobwebs (been there some time!), mould - worst in the top right front bedroom. I have taken lots of photos for the owner. The inside of the oven and microwave were revolting - we couldn’t use them it was disgusting. Even the cushions on the dining chairs were unclean. The house was so dusty it had 2 hayfever sufferers sneezing constantly - only in the house though, We found the fireplace surround and the fact the doors to the conservatory dont lock a hazard for our infant. Only sofa seats for 5 or 6 max when property sleeps up to 10. Meant 2 of us were on hard dining chairs every night. The beds were super comfy and decent bedding & towels provided. You could get passed the snagging but Cleanliness really lets this property down.

Thank you Jennifer for your feedback and we are sorry for the issues you faced during your holiday . We do appreciate snagging being brought to our attention, as we want all our visitors to have a lovely carefree time. The cleaning we are paying for (including ovens and microwaves) through John Bray Cornish Holiday's and isn't something we would expect not to be done. The property is supposed to be inspected prior to arrival and cleaned after each guest. Please be assured we will make sure they have raised your comments with the housekeeping and maintenance teams. Thank you for your appreciative comments regarding the comfy beds and decent Linen. We do hope you will want to stay at Lamorna again. Property Owner

  • "Outside area unusable, filthy furniture and uncleaned for weeks."

Disgusting. Couldn't use conservatory not enough seating. Kitchen, dining and lounge area was fine. The blinds in the kitchen dining area fell off and had to be left shut for fear of touching them. We left it cleaner than we found it !

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. We apologise as we were unaware of any emails that were sent due to it being a no-reply email address, and therefore a lack of communication regarding these issues. Our guest's happiness is very important to us and we are sorry to hear that you experienced these cleanliness and maintenance issues during your stay, your comments will be raised to our housekeeping and maintenance teams, to look into - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "We loved the house and lay out and would certainly go back, hopefully same time next year."

Just a few snags It was so cold when we got there around 6.00 pm and we could not get it comfortably warm that evening, it would have been nice to have had the heating on. Once it was warm it stayed warm, but was just so cold that first evening. The door handle to the downstairs bedroom was broken and fell off in our hand when we turned it. There were loads & loads of big black/blue flies everywhere and we spent most of that evening hovering them up Everyone of us said the pillows were too hard and big. But overall we loved the house and the location was excellent. We stayed in a house on Lundy Road last year, all of us felt this was a better laid out, more sociable house and good location. Thank you, we had a super time again.

  • "The house is very well located with parking on the drive and street."

the house appear to have been recently refurbished and the open lounge, kitchen and diner were very sociable. We left some feedback during our stay as we felt certain things could have been better. There is a lack of storage in some of the bedrooms so those members of our party were unable to unpack. Basic items like waste bins in the bedrooms, a clothes airer etc would have been useful. The TVs are smart TVs which was great but there doesn't seem to be an aerial so we couldn't put on normal TV. Overall we had a good stay but finishing touches would make a big improvement.

Thank you for your comments on Lamorna. We will look into the couple of items that you have raised. John Bray Cornish Holidays Property Owner
