• "This was a beautifully appointed home in a fabulous location."

  Ocean 7 is perfectly positioned as a base for a Cornish seaside holiday, being in an enviable position at the northern end of Newquay. The house itself is so comfortable and the owners couldn't have gone to more trouble to ensure guests have a great stay. Their care and consideration was evident everywhere, from the thoughtful welcome pack to the range of books and games - even a large DVD library catering for all tastes. We would go back tomorrow if we could!

• "Ocean Seven was a great base for our August week long break in Newquay."

  Loved the large beautifully decorated bedrooms with quality linen, large bathroom with jet tub, and the open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with great views over the grassland out to sea. All well equipped, clean and extra thoughtful touches all around.

• "This was our second time staying at Ocean Seven and we loved it."

  It is super close to several beautiful beaches and walkable into the centre of Newquay, but nice and quiet, so the location is wonderful. The property is really comfortable, has great facilities and is really clean, with a thoughtful gift bundle of food. We really enjoy staying here and would recommend it to everyone.

• "We really enjoyed our stay."

  The apartment was clean, and close to several beaches, shops and takeaways.. Parking was off road. There is a great view over the sea. The sunsets were amazing! Highly recommend.

  I cannot rate this highly enough, beautiful quiet apartment right on top of a beach. Within walking distance of Newquays high street, pubs and restaurants. The apartment is spotless, beautifully decorated and so very well-maintained. Communication with the owners was fantastic and the hamper they left for us was a lovely touch. • "The holiday property was immaculate and the hosts were amazing ."

  We stayed for a week to celebrate two birthdays in our family and the hosts were so kind nothing was too much trouble. Everything we could possibly need was in the property. They Jacky &David even left us a treat hamper with delicious local fayre and a birthday card ,such a lovely special touch. The weather was fantastic too.Thank You so much we loved it .

• "Just home from the most amazing stay at Ocean 7."

  The property is exactly as described but better. Spacious, homely and so well equipped. It's the details that make a difference, from the superbly decorated rooms, little touches including fairly lights, great artwork and the best welcome pack we,ve ever had! The location is perfect for amazing walks in both directions and Newquay is the ideal base to get to all of Cornwall,s main attractions. The owners checked in throughout our stay and gave helpful tips on where to eat/visit. I was lucky enough to be here to celebrate a special birthday and it couldn,t have been better. The wet weather this week did not stop us from doing everything we wanted and provided some great photo opportunities. I already miss the view from the balcony as I spent lots of time enjoying the view. We will 100% be booking to come back next year ( hopefully with a bit more sunshine). Thank you Jacky and David, Ocean 7 is a little gem, don't change a thing !

• "Just over the road from the cliffs and coastal footpath means this apartment is hard to better for views."

  Add in the short walk to the town centre and a parking space and you have a fantastic place to stay. Jacky and David are just round the corner so when you summon help it arrives quickly. Where I feel it's a 4 star rather than the 5 star it could so easily be is in the quality of the fittings. The beds have seen better days (even the mattress toppers couldn't hide the feel of the springs). The tv only had basic channels as it was not a smart tv. As the apartment was able to sleep 6 it seemed a little short sighted to have a 2 slice toaster.

We are sorry you were disappointed with regards to the toaster, had you mentioned this during your stay, we could have replaced it for you, but have decided to replace it anyway. The TV whereas not a smart tv, does have a fire stick to allow access to all the other media channels, again if you had mentioned it while we were in touch, could have been resolved. The beds are hotel quality, and less than 5 years of holiday let use, the toppers are in place for extra comfort only, but we do recognise individual tastes and respect your comments. • "We’ve just returned from a week in Newquay and staying at Oceans Seven."

  We were not disappointed the split level apartment is just lovely, with everything we needed. There are 2 bedrooms and bathroom/en-suite on the ground floor, with the living/kitchen and another bedroom on the first floor. There was plenty of room for our family of 3. The views from the first floor living area and balcony are just fabulous, even at night watching the lights across the bay. It was quiet and we didn’t see any of the other residents whilst we were there. The beds were comfy, arranged as requested and we all slept very well, waking late most mornings. The apartment is within easy 5 min walking distance of Lusty Gaze and Tolcane beaches and is a good 30 min walk or 5 min drive to Friskal. We came for the surf, which didn’t arrive until Wednesday and we went to Friskal as the surf was better, but it is possible to surf/body board on the other beaches. We also walked to Porth which is further away but a nice walk along the coast. It’s about 10 min walk into Newquay town, with plenty of restaurant options. There is also a Tesco express and local bakery within a few minutes walk. The hosts Jacky and Dave were so welcoming and provided the best welcome pack we’ve ever had, which was very much appreciated after a 5 hour drive! They kept in contact during the week to check we had settled in and that everything was okay. Thank you Jacky and Dave for making our stay the perfect get away we needed, we will be back!

• "A fantastic property with great views, and great location being only a few minutes walk into town."

  Very spacious, we immediately felt welcome with the basket of provisions left for us by the owners which saved us going to the local shop after a seven hour long journey! Whilst the "Great British Summertime " wasn't behaving itself the week we came, the property was a great base to explore Cornwall. • "We would all like to thank the owners at ocean seven for the fantastic apartment we was staying in for the week, the facilities and decor of the house was stunning and are in a very modern style."

  The 3 bedrooms are very good size, comfy beds and both bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The wardrobes are a good size, dressing tables, Side tables with a small tv in all rooms. the art work in every room and lounge made the room so much brighter and welcoming. Also the balcony had fairy lights which was a nice touch to see the beautiful sunset each evening through the wide folding doors. A wide choice of games, puzzles and a dvd player with a large selection of films. A fire stick was also in the TV with a good Internet connection. Perfect for family's too and plenty of entertainment to enjoy for everyone. We also received a welcoming basket that had jam, scones, clotted cream, sea salt crisps and milk was also in the fridge. Which was a sweet jester on the welcoming. Everyone is welcome to stay at ocean seven family's, friends or romantic getaways for a beach holiday. The location has everything, close to town centre which has a wide choice of restaurants, cafe and shops. We definitely recommend and we will be booking again.

• "The house is absolutely beautiful."

  Very spacious and excellent facilities. Very minor negative feedback. The mattress in the master bedroom is very hard, but I understand that this is just my personal taste and the televisions in the bedrooms are also very small for the size of the room. Apart from those 2 things, I could not fault the property at all and would not hesitate to book it again and recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you so much for the little extras (biscuits/crisps) they were a pleasant suprise. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

• "Had a lovely stay at the apartment it was brilliant had everything we needed."

  Just one grumble when we came to use the washing machine it was thick with hair and dirt , had to clean it before we used it and then hair and fluff was still on the washing which we had done. Didn’t bother after that and took them home to do. The beds were comfy and we had a relaxing stay , the views were spectacular especially watching the sunsets , would definitely return .

• "On arriving unfortunately the lock was damaged in the front door."

  On contacting the owners this was rectified the following morning. The property is within walking distance of supermarket and chip shop. We visited the aquarium in Newquay, and visited local towns the rest of the week. The owner kindly shipped a coat to us which was left in a bedroom on the day of departure. There is a view of the sea from the living room. Overall an enjoyable week (shame about the weather).

• "Our original accomodation got cancelled due to not having it's own entrance and we're so glad it did!"

  Ocean Seven is amazing, the pictures are brilliant but still don't do it justice, it's so big and roomy and has everything you need and more. The welcome pack and toiletries were so nice, the balcony with furniture and fairy lights were lovely and the location is perfect. The parking space is clearly marked too. In our 10 years of visiting Cornwall we've never stayed anywhere as good as this, thank you!

• "We felt like we were only paying for the view."

  Paper thin walls. And the thing you need to get right at this price level is decent WiFi which was terrible most of the time upstairs. Seemed to be time/weather dependent. We had 2 young boys and were unable to stream anything for them/us. The main TV was cheap and nasty and again, the picture was scrambled on most channels even though I tried a retune. The ensuite shower was blocked and the door didn't shut, and the bedroom blind was broken and the window doesn't shut properly letting in wind and noise from the road. We also couldn't believe that we were unable to alter the heating! Far too hot upstairs. There was no coat hanger or mirror by the front door (or anywhere else) and we struggled to dry any wet clothes as no radiators apart from the tiny bathroom towel rails. There was no/non working extractor fan in either bathroom. The top bedroom door wouldn't latch shut so you had to wedge it or it would bang constantly. The fire extinguisher by the front door is under pressure and illegal. Finally the parking space is small and difficult to get in/out of. On a plus, the beds and sofa are comfortable and the view is beautiful. The location is also very good for walks/town/beach.

• "Great apartment with lovely views."

  We really enjoyed our stay here but sadly were let down on a couple of points. Firstly we contacted Sykes Cottages to request a cot and highchair for our stay but sadly the message must've failed to get passed on as they weren't there upon our arrival. Luckily the cupboard marked private was unlocked and we were able to help ourselves but after a 9 hour drive this was not something we needed to be worried about. Secondly there is no parking spot marked as number 7 and they don't run numerically in the car park, so there was lots of confusion and notes being left between the residents and holiday makers. This resulted in us never being able to park in the so called designated space for us and moved between a visitor spot and the road. Whilst we were parked in the visitor spot our car got badly keyed too along one side. If we'd have known there wasn't actually a clear designated parking spot we would've booked somewhere else as being able to park at the accommodation was a priority for our stay. The owners really need to number their parking spot and make it clear for future guests!

  It has a balcony which is perfectly situated to watch the sun go down over Towan Headland whilst enjoying your favourite tipple. The apartment is spacious as it occupies two floors, with the entrance and two bedrooms and the bathroom on the lower floor. The upper floor has the kitchen/lounge and a further bedroom. It is well appointed and we found it had ample room with six adults. It is a short walk into Newquay and is close to shops and bars. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
