  • "Spring Tide is an excellent holiday property."

It is well equipped, comfortable and homely. The weather was poor during our stay and the house was warm and welcoming. We have stayed in several properties in Pendra Loweth as we come to Falmouth to visit family and Spring Tide has been the best!

  • "We really enjoyed the place (Pendra Loweth) and the property Spring Tide."

It had a very special quality of 'homeliness' which we felt as soon as we walked through the front door. The furnishings were comfortable and the rooms were cosy. Everything was clean and tidy and provision of cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils, games, etc., were all generous and thoughtful. The pictures and such things as carpets and curtains felt carefully chosen. There was everything to praise and nothing to criticise. Oh, and the location felt very private, even though were in a very pretty and well designed holiday village

It felt like home as soon as we arrived with everything that you could ask for in the cottage. The weather was great and as for the wildlife in the garden, they were lovely to watch. We will definitely be booking our return.

  • "We chose to re visit Falmouth having moved up north some eighteen months ago."

Prior to moving we had lived in Falmouth for over 38years and knew Pendra Loweth / Maen Valley so chose to choose a cottage on the site, this been Spring Tide as it advertised no dogs, king size bed and a twin which was our criteria. Its been the worst cottage we have stayed at with it’s non welcome food smell of curry and to its total lack of cleanliness, lack of maintenance and lack of information on the use of equipment. The issues made us very wary with regards to our health. (Allergies especially dust). 1. Extremely dusty skirting boards more so in the twin room which we ended up cleaning, however, looking behind both bedrooms (with a torch) furniture the dust was extremely thick behind the wardrobes meaning this cottage has not been deep cleaned for a very very long time. (Photos taken) 2. The washing machine: the washer draw has not been cleaned and the washer had a very unpleasant stale smell so didn’t use. (Photos taken) 3. The standard of cleanliness regarding the crockery and cutlery. The dish drainer was dirty. The utensil holder for larger items has seen better days. (Photo taken) A wooden chopping board which should be condemned. The kitchen wooden blinds are dirty. (Photo taken) The lounge has such impractical furniture for a holiday let the cleaner has no way of moving to clean behind. 4. All the fans in the house are dusty , hence not used. (Photos taken) 5. The shower head is dirty (photo taken)with black mould along with mould in places in the bath. (Yes Cornwall is a damp county but it’s no excuse not to keep on top of it especially more so in a holiday let) 6. The patio table and chairs had not been cleaned prior to the let neither had the patio been swept or weeded (monkey nut shells under the table and chairs ) (photo taken) Other observations: 1. No instructions folder left out for guests (eventually found under other items in the bookcase):- No instructions for : A. TV which had Four monitors. B. Microwave ( instructions were for a former model) C. Instructions of how to use the oven and grill - all markings had faded over time along with the hob knobs. D. No first aid in any kitchen cupboard as per the Sykes part of the folder. E. The blind in the main bedroom had a hand written note on the windowsill to say it wasn’t working properly and how to higher and lower it. If it was known to be an issue by the owners ( who we understand visited before our arrival) then fix it. (Photo taken) We feel Sykes Cottages need to re inspect this property. We trust this constructive information will be taken onboard and improvements made in order that future guests will have a better experience than we did.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we are sorry to hear of the issues you mention which are in stark contrast to many other positive reviews we've received for the property. As you'll see to date, comments on the property have been very complimentary. It is a shame you did not raise any of the issues during your stay as we would have been more than happy to have rectified these for you. We would like to let you know and to reassure future guests that our housekeepers conducted a deep clean following your stay, taking into consideration all you have mentioned, including re-grouting of the shower, which was newly fitted only last year. We are sorry you could not find the welcome folder, it seems this was put away on the bookcase by a previous guest, we will look to update the information this contains. We have replaced most of the icons on the cooker and will look to improve the hob icons. We will replace the 1st aid kit (the previous one was unfortunately removed from the property). The roman blind in the main bedroom, although new in March, malfunctioned due to misuse by a previous guest, we will be replacing this with a roller blind. The owner takes their letting of Spring Tide very seriously and pride themselves on giving good holiday experiences – this is reflected in the feedback we have received and we have every confidence this will continue to be the case moving forward. We all slept really well as beds are comfortable, had everything there we needed. We absolutely loved watching the rabbits out the back, we even got to see some baby rabbits too. Plenty to do around, bar area was lovely and we even had a dip in the swimming pool. Can’t wait to come back again next year!

  • "Really lovely place to stay."

Spring Tide is exactly what is described. Great location, very peaceful. Everyone respectful of each other and plenty of privacy on each patio. Our two kids loved playing in the gardens and trees. Only slight complain we would have is the cleanliness of Spring Tide. Some of the walls were dirty (spilt coffee, I think) and dusty around the couches. Just a bit of a shame considering how lovely the house and location is. Wouldn’t put me off returning though. Thanks for a great week!

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Spring Tide. In regard to the cleanliness issues, these have since been resolved and we hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "The property was great."

The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery and lots of plates. Our only suggestion would be to have a dishwasher in the kitchen rather than a washing machine. The beds were comfy and the shower was great. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again next time we go to Falmouth. My 4 year old didn't want to leave!

  • "Had to contact you for clean bedding as bedding was stained."

I also had to empty the fridge of someone else's leftovers. Had to dust surfaces as full of dust and cottage shabby. Too much personal stuff very cluttered. Not as nice as last years cottage. Very disappointed considering how much we paid. Not worth the money. Would not book here again.

Thank you for your comments. The housekeeper did make a special visit on this occasion for you. We are sorry that there was an oversight. Property Owner

  • "Cosy home at a nice holiday village."

Was not spotlessly clean, but had a good vacuum cleaner. Hot water heating is confusing, bathing requires scheduling for a larger family .. Friendly neighbours, nearly silent after 10PM. Kids liked tennis court, younger one enjoyed playground nearby. And it is not too far from the sea and beaches - 20 min walk is a good exercise anyway (there is a path across fields and between residential buildings on the hill to avoid walking along the main road)

We had a long drive with two little ones and once we arrived felt instantly relaxed and comfortable. It's a great location, though with 2 little ones its definitely a case of driving into town rather than walking. But parking is reasonable and there is plenty. Great cottage and we cant wait to go go again.

  • "Hi, we’ve been coming to pendra loweth for the last 10 years."

However, this time round we were disappointed with the overall accommodation. The description about the property mentioned bunk beds and there wasn’t so our kids were disappointed. The cleanliness of the property was poor and we found a dirty old handkerchief under the sheets in the master bedroom. It was also cold in the house even with the extra heating in the house. The pool spa was cold and not properly functioning and the steam room was also not in action. I did speak to reception about this but it didn’t appear to be resolved. I know s number of other guests also spoke to reception about this. So again, disappointing. I suggest the description of the property is updated as this one of the reasons why we chose the property as the kids wanted bunk beds. The cleanliness needs to be assessed before the next guests arrive. Many thanks, Steve

  • "The location is good, the plunge pool is very very small on the complex."

Walking to the beach is impractical as it is long small windy country lanes and not advisable with children. So be prepared to drive to all locations outside the complex. This should be made clearer in the write up.a

  • "Almost home from home."

Lovely & comfortable. There is plenty of comfy sofas, and the king size bed is sooo comfortable. It was lovely watching the wildlife in the mornings. The sun shone every day luckily, but, everything is there if needed if it rained. My only gripe , which is my own personal negative , is that a touch of paint wouldn’t go amiss.
