  • "We were delighted to return to Driftwood again for the second time this year."

We appreciate the layout of the apartment which suits my daughter and myself very well. Both the kitchen and living room benefit from a bright, sunny aspect. We look forward to coming back next year for another relaxing break.

  • "We had a good stay and we really appreciated the extra touches to make us feel welcome."

There had been something in the listing about the laundry room not being available - but we booked very close to our arrival date - this was disappointing as travelling with children... there is always a lot of washing

  • "Beautiful holiday home, credit to the owners."

It is obvious how much work they have put into the property. We had a great time and would love to go back with our other grandchildren.

Thank you so much for you feedback. We love staying in Bude and it's really nice to hear when guests enjoy their stay as much as we do. Property Owner

  • "Driftwood was a warm and comfortable pied-à-terre where we could relax and enjoy the wide open green space in front of the patio doors."

The facilities which were were of very good quality were ideal for our holiday needs. The owners were very helpful in enabling me to set up my laptop and other devices. The property is ideally situated for accessing Crooklets beach and town.

  • "Great little place to stay."

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Driftwood and Bude! Helpful owners who offered prompt support when needed. Location was just outside of Bude which allowed for a relax in the evenings. Great communal areas for kids to burn of some energy and a BBQ area that allows for burgers and sausages to be cooked away from the property. Would definitely stay again if visiting the Bude area.

  • "A comfortable and well equipped apartment which has recently been modernised."

I loved the bright, cheery décor. I arrived in October when it was raining hard and quite windy and can report that the apartment was cosy and dry. The double bed and sofa were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There's lots to see and do in and around Bude, and a supermarket about a mile away on the main road to the apartment with free parking which I found convenient. As it was later in the season, only 2 other apartments were occupied and my stay was quiet and peaceful.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Driftwood."

A lovely countryside walk to the nearest beach took about 15 minutes. We also explored some bays along the coast and enjoyed the local area. First visit to Bude and I am sure that we will return. Great surf too.

  • "Lovely clean comfortable apartment in a lovely quiet location but within easy walking distance of Bude and the coast path."

Perfect for a couple or small family. We loved sitting out on the patio watching a couple of small children play on the large lawn in front of the apartments. We only marked the place down on comfort because the duvet was a quality thick warm one which would have been perfect at other times of the year but was too warm for us in the summer.

  • "Excellent accommodation presented really well - lots of home made art and bright colours to modernise a very clean and comfortable apartment."

15 minute walk to cafe, beach and pub at Crooklets Bay, a nice seaside stroll from central Bude. Lots to explore, nice beaches, couple of great pubs. Also excellent communication so what's not to like? Recommended.

  • "Driftwood was a lovely place to stay."

) Sharon the owner is a truly generous host and was extremely attentive to us to ensure that we had a good stay. The apartment is spacious and cosy and has beautiful artwork created by Dan. It also has the added benefit of a large shared garden space with it’s own picnic bench which is perfect for people with children. It is also only a 10 minute walk to the cliffs, 15 minutes to the beach and 25 minutes walk into town so you can ditch the car and enjoy the walk down the lane past the horses. I would definitely recommend a stay.

  • "Sadly disappointing."

This property was meant to accommodate up to 6 people but no bedding was provided for the pull out bed in the living room. The flat could have been cleaner with dust on several surfaces. Very cramped for a family of 4, with only a small shower room. The listing stated laundry facilities were available, but when we went to use the laundry during our stay, this was closed due to coronavirus, we were not informed of this prior to our stay or on arrival, which was very frustrating, especially with a pre-schooler potty training. Hot water was not constant, you needed to push a button everytime you wanted a shower, which caught us out on our first night after a day out at the beach. Location was excellent however and very convenient for Bude, I think if a bit more care was made around cleanliness, availability of facilities and communication this would be fine for a couple. Please note the property doesn't allow dogs but several other apartments do and so there were several dogs using the outside area for their toilet needs.

Thanks for your feedback. Bedding is only being provided at the moment for the number of occupants on a booking, for hygiene reasons. Apologies re any dust, I have already spoken to the cleaners and that will certainly be monitored and remedied moving forward. The shower itself is quite big which may make the shower room seem smaller, so when I am next at the property I will take a picture of the shower room for the advert. Apologies regarding the laundry room which has a sign on it re the current temp closure but I completely take on board that it would have been helpful for you to know in advance. I am ensuring that all guests are aware before their stay, thanks for letting me know. The hot water has a button next to the cooker which needs to be pressed to turn the hot water on - there is usually a sign there, I will check that if it has moved that the sign is put back Property Owner

  • "We didn't expect to find everything we needed to be provided eg spare toilet roll, kitchen towels and so many utensils which permitted us to cook what we wanted The frying pans were non-stick!"

The living room was spacious and the sofas comfortable. We liked the decor - bright and colourful. The fold up drier was indispensable since it rained almost every day and we went walking the coastal paths or on the beach. We found it peaceful (no other flats occupied most of the time) apart from the waves crashing in the distance.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
