  • "We were so impressed with Hillcroft."

It was even better than I thought it would be. The little choc cakes were such a lovely touch. I would like to say they were tasty but my other half and his son ate them all. Perfect for a family holiday and with Tesco Express across the road too it was ideal. So clean and such lovely decor I couldn’t have asked for better. We will be back

The cottage was lovely to stay in clean and tidy beds comfortable, could do with hand rail to go to down to washing machine shed as was wet on our stay and quite slippery, garden could be quite pretty but was over grown so couldn't use it, genaral wear and tear expected but it is a nice place to stay not cluttered or over crowded

Thank you for your feedback back & glad you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Gideon. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week away at Hillcroft."

The property is well maintained and comfortable, there are only a couple of things I would say. The foliage at the back could do with a trim as it feels like there should be a lovely view from the balcony but you can't see past the overgrown garden and it makes closing the balcony door difficult. The kitchen could do with more equipment, there are no baking trays except the grill pan. There is a dishwasher but with only 3 glasses that are not wine ones and 5 mugs there is no reason to use it. There are also lots of steps which were not a problem for us but would be an issue for less mobile or for toddlers. However the property is well located for visiting a wide variety of places with a handy shop across the road.

Thank you for your feedback & we will take on board your comments. Glad you had a nice stay. Kind regards Gideon. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful property, ideally located for all major attractions."

We had a lovely stay in early May and loved the apartment. Everything you might need is there including a very well appointed kitchen. The cupcakes were a lovely touch. Thank you. Beds were comfortable too. Our only disappointments and they small ones, was that the lower bedroom felt a bit damp. There was a dehumidifier in the room which was very noisy so this was turned off at night in order to get some sleep. Even with the heating on, the damp feeling in the room was still there. Maybe this was because it was early in the season? It wasn't a deal breaker but should be noted. The other was that apparently there used to be a seaview, which is now obstructed by another building. The friendly neighbour invited us onto her terrace so that we could see it from her garden, and it was a beautiful view. Such a shame that the view is no longer seen from this property. All in all though a lovely week.

Thank you for your feed back & sorry you felt that it was damp, we have dehumidifiers in all our properties who’s are use by clients if they feel the need not because there is any damp they also remove pollen and purity the air. There is no Sea view as this has never been the case but you can book the upstairs apartment called sea view if you was looking for a sea view location, glad you had a comfortable stay. • "Unlike other users we had no trouble with noise apart from the Social Club over the road until quite late (Saturday night only) - switching bookings to Friday would avoid this happening on guest arrival days."

The listing was fine, but stairs down to the central heating control is not ideal. "Bathroom with bath, basin and WC" should not be considered (level) Ground Floor Accommodation as it is up three steps. Instead of showing multiple photos of the tourist attractions it would be better to show the hallway and steps up to the toilet. Handrails there and in the bath area would be useful for the older guest. The washing machine is in an outhouse, best accessed through the downstairs bedroom rather than the outside steps which have no guardrail. No DVD player, but it might have been a slot in the TV - didn't look. Channel coverage much more limited than Freeview or - considering there are dishes - Freesat. The road is very busy but not disturbing, the morning rush and school run providing endless enjoyment over breakfast. People parking close to the drive entrance made access difficult at times; I managed to turn the car in the parking area because it has cameras but it has unfenced edges with 3-4 feet drop. With two cars it would have been difficult.

Glad you had a nice stay. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "The apartment is very well equipped with modern heating and warm water supply; all the appliances, you might want or need, in the kitchen and comfortable furniture."

Like the description says though, the bedroom on the ground floor is right on the main road and - window closed, or not - you hear the traffic all night and day. Also - while super convenient, if you forgot to buy bread - there is a constant flow of traffic in and out of the Tesco's opposite. Unfortunately in the (ground floor) bedroom you can also hear the people in the other apartment upstairs walking around, which gets annoying, if you are on holiday and hoping to sleep in a bit. The downstairs (sublevel) bathroom is a tricky place, as it is basically a shower stall with toilet. There are no walls or curtains to separate the shower, so everything gets very wet. Over all nevertheless, it is a very nice property, fit for up to 4 adults and - if need be - a toddler as there is a child seat, and close enough to town and station etc. to walk there.

  • "We booked this property for a short break for a group of four."

The property itself is easy to fin and the rooms all a good size and very comfortable - the kitchen with its large table was a favourite meeting/talking spot and the lounge very comfortable. The bedrooms were a good size and beds comfortable, although clothes storage is quite limited for anything other than a short break and the lower ground bedroom has quite a low ceiling for those that are tall. The bathrooms are as described although it would be beneficial to have some form of shower in there as a bath alone isn't hugely practical (but does look good), as it means you really need to share the downstairs wet room if you just shower. The wet room itself is slightly problematic as it gets and stays very wet, as does everything inside it, including things like toilet rolls - especially when four people are using it. Whilst it wasn't a huge problem and didn't detract from our stay it doesn't make for the best experience. Overall the place is really nice and in a convenient location for things in the area, and road noise wasn't an issue (not even the band in the social club directly opposite - unless you are a very light sleeper. As long as you are happy sharing a bathroom the convenience and comfort make this property worth considering.
