  • "We enjoyed the stay."

The Cottage is small but has everything you need except a hairdryer. We would visit the Cottage again.

  • "Lovely charming cottage just a 2 minute walk to the harbour."

Arrived to a welcoming cream tea which was very thoughtful and very delicious ! Parking was sometimes difficult ..the harbour cost £5 per day if you managed to get a spot and the main car park £11 per day It’s worth noting there is no shop in mousehole selling everyday essentials so take everything you need with you or alternatively there is a Co-Op store in nearby Newlyn. Also there are no cleaning products in the property to clean bath etc and no hairdryer so take your own.The Ship in Mousehole did a great fun pub quiz on a Thursday and a highlight was breakfast at The Godolphin in Marazion overlooking St Michaels Mount ...it really was a fabulous place and well worth a visit. There is a regular bus from Mousehole to Penzance costing £2 which is great.Mousehole is a charming village to base a holiday in Cornwall.

  • "This cottage is perfectly located for having a wonderful time in Cornwall."

The cottage is is need to a bit of a spring clean and the main room mattress probably could do with a topper. It is worth noting that the Wi-Fi worked brilliantly and in lieu of a smart TV the access to DVDs and VHS was great, our young boys found this very entertaining. The cottage doesn't a have dishwasher but otherwise the kitchen is set up perfectly for cooking on holiday and the washer dryer worked brilliantly, is is important as drying clothes in the cottage was tricky. The lack of outdoor space was offset by the location as it was a stroll to a cafe or pub and with the porch at the front you can store all the beach stuff before entering the cottage. Our experience of parking was not as bad at all, we did park near old harbour restaurant but we quickly found the local authority parking which was half the price. We had no issues with the loading and unloading. Overall we had a wonderful time and absolutely love mousehole as our base. We hope to be back Thank you.

  • "The double bed is to small, the shower is very slow and parking is a nightmare"

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. At our property you will find a standard double bed, along with a smaller double bed (4ft). We also had a look into the shower and can confirm it is working as normal. We appreciate beds and showers are a personal preference and everyone prefers something different to everyone else. Parking for the property can be found in local car parks a few minutes’ walk away from the property, with a map for two of the described car parks provided in an email sent prior to a guests stay. Everything was just as we hoped at the cottage and ensured our last minute break went really well. We will certainly use Sykes cottages again and hope to do so this August. We are also likely to book Calac cottage again too. A great location cosy comfortable and everything you need from home.

The property

Sitting right in the heart of charismatic Mousehole, this charming cottage provides cosy and comfortable accommodation in this beautiful fishing village on the West Cornwall coast.

A short stroll will take you to the quayside where locals swim, launch their kayaks and fishermen still land their daily catch of fresh mackerel, lobster and crab and with amenities along the harbour, this peaceful village is an ideal spot for a family holiday.

Three lovely bedrooms are on the first floor and downstairs you will find a well equipped, modern kitchen and a comfortable lounge.

Pop out into the small front garden and take in some sun while you enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple.

The picturesque harbour area is surrounded by narrow streets where you will find art galleries, gift shops, a general store and restaurants and at low tide, you can enjoy a safe, sandy beach, an idyllic spot for sketching and imaginative photography.

Pack a Cornish picnic and enjoy a magical show under the stars at the world famous, open air Minack Theatre.

A short drive will take you to Marazion and the sunny town of Penzance, bustling with attractive streets housing antique and craft shops, pubs and eating houses.

If you love golden sands, Porthcurno Beach is glorious with its Mediterranean feel and the popular Sennen Beach is a paradise for surfers, both within easy driving distance.

This is an area favoured by many, so make sure you book your family holiday early, to avoid disappointment.
