  • "Delightful cottage, beautifully looked after by Sarah."

...she provided for all our needs... the welcome ' tray' was unexpected ! Towels were offered to be changed which was good.... unfortunately the weather was not so kind and as we didnt bring walking boots etc... we were unable to follow the trails.. disappointed! I would have liked to sit outside in the sunshine but due to the time of year; the trees produced shade.... all in all... a lovely comfortable 11 day stay... thank you Sarah and Jem!!

Thank you for the feedback. It was lovely to meet you and glad you had a comfortable stay.. Property Owner

  • "Spent a week at Badger cottage with our 2 young sons."

6 and 3. The boys loved the cottage and the surrounding area. They loved playing in the playground/field and in the playroom with some of the other children staying in the other holiday homes. They also loved collecting the eggs from the chickens. The cottage was excellent and was really a home from home. Sarah and Jem were excellent hosts, they were available on the farm and via phone when we had a problem with the heating they sorted it out right away, Sarah even started a fire for us. Will definitely be returning.

Thank you for coming to stay with us, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again sometime. Thank you for the lovely feedback. Property Owner

  • "Badger Cottage is one of four holiday lets on this farm."

Downstairs is full of character and is well equipped and does not disappoint. Upstairs however had a number of issues for us, namely lack of space and in need of updating, especially the bathroom. It would be fairer to say the cottage being more suitable for a family of four not four adults, us "OLDS" would not be able to manage the "adult" bunks. The main bedroom only had a double bed which we were not comfortable in and a ceiling light positioned to guarantee you kept head butting it. Sarah & Jem are lovely people, very friendly and helpful. Good local pubs/restaurants are in short supply but you should seek out Shipwrights Arms - Helford and Pandora's Mylor Bridge, both waterside settings.

Clean, well maintained and all the facilities we expected. From our initial arrival we felt we were at home. The cottage was perfect for a quiet rural holiday. Wandering around the orchard, the woodland walk and the nearby National Trust walk to the Creek we enjoyed the company of the local wildlife. We have to mention the warm reception and care from Sarah .

The cottage itself was a bit bigger than we expected, clean and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was green and peaceful, the cottage also has its own enclosed garden. The owners, Sarah and Jem, were welcoming and friendly. We spent the week mostly swimming and surfing at some spectacular sites nearby like Sennen Cove, Nanjizal Beach, Kynance Cove and Church Cove. We also visited Lands End, Lizard Point and the Eden Project. There is loads more we'd like to do on a return visit.

Prior to our visit, the comms was excellent with regular emails and directions provided which were accurate and clear. When we arrived there was a lovely welcome package with biscuits and drinks etc. Nice touch. The property itself was amazing. Clean comfortable and warm. Everything was provided for us including cuttlery, tea, coffee, cleaning equipment etc. Ample plates, bin bags etc so no need to bring your own. The location is perfect for a peaceful getaway with or without children. The outside space is huge with an apple orchard practically in your back garden. Beautiful scenic private woodland walk which starts at the cottage. We saw an owl and squirrels. Beaches, shops, attractions are located within 20 mins from the cottage. Beware of the winding country lanes, very tight and narrow. The owners are lovely, friendly and accomodating. You couldnt ask for better hosts to be honest. We will definately be returning and staying at Badger Cottage whether it be in the spring, summer autumn or winter.

It was lovely to meet you and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the lovely compliments and feed back. We look forward to meeting you again. Property Owner

It is extremely comfortable and cosy with all the mod cons, and the location is so idyllic and peaceful. Big thanks to Sarah and Jem, who are extremely hospitable. Don't miss a stroll through Tremayne Woods, which is just a short walk away from the farm. And beautiful beaches, such as Gunwalloe and Poldhu Cove, are not far away. • "I didn't actually book it via Sykes in the first place, it was Owners Direct originally."

All very good though... Badger Cottage at Mudgeon Vean is a great place to stay. Ideal for families with little children it is a farm with a proper playground with swings and adventure climbing frame, there are animals (Chickens, Ducks & Rabbits) and acres of space to play in. There is a nature trail and also a games room with all sorts of toys and a full-sized ping pong table should the weather turn wet. The cottage itself is a well appointed two bedroom, one double one full-sized bunk bed and shower room upstairs with a large open plan living room reception room. The reception room features two sofas (one is a sofa-bed) and an easy chair with Flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPhone charger/Speaker leading on to the kitchen dining room. The kitchen has a fitted suite with modern appliances (fan oven, dishwasher, ceramic hob, washing machine and fridge freezer). Outside there is a private garden with a picnic table and a granite built barbeque. The only downside of this property is it is a long way from the nearest village shop down twisty Cornish lanes so a car is essential. It is a great base to strike out from and very well set up for families. The owners Sarah and Jem couldn't be friendlier and went out of their way to help us and made our stay a real treat. 10/10

Two miles from Mawgan, and two from Manaccan, above the Helford River, is Badger Cottage.

Grade II listed Badger Cottage, is attached to the farmhouse and dates back to the 18th century.

Inside is comfortable and welcoming, with beamed ceilings, squishy sofas and wood burner in the sitting room.

The kitchen is a good size and incorporates a farmhouse style table and chairs for everyone to gather around.

Stairs lead to two bedrooms: a pretty double and a room with adult sized bunks.

They share a shower room.

As well as its own enclosed garden, guests can enjoy the owners fifty-five acres of fields and woodland with panoramic countryside views and woodland trails.

Children will love the outdoor play space, swings, football goals, climbing frames and sandpit, and the friendly owners will be happy to introduce you to their ducks and hens.

For those not so sunny days, there is table tennis, a pool table, and games/toys, inside a large games cabin to keep everyone entertained.

If you can bear to tear yourself away from the onsite entertainments, the village of Mawgan-in-Meneage is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Mawgan Creek, which leads to the Helford River.

From here it is a tranquil walk to National Trust Tremayne Quay, whilst the Seal sanctuary, and Flambards theme park both make for excellent family days out.

The beaches at Gunwalloe, Church Cove, and Poldhu are all within 5 miles for a more relaxed turn of pace.
