  • "Unfortunately, the condition of the cottage was far below the standard expected, leading to a ruined holiday experience for my family and me."

Upon arrival, we were immediately confronted with several severe issues, including: • One bathroom was filled with mould, had a broken sink, and was infested with silverfish, making it unusable. • The entire cottage, particularly the bedrooms, smelled strongly of mould and dampness. • On the first day, there was no heating, and one member of our group fell sick due to the cold conditions. • It took us a full day to get in touch with the property owner regarding these issues. • The dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes upon our arrival, which is completely unacceptable. • The cottage was infested with spiders, contributing to an unhygienic and uncomfortable environment. • The ground floor tiling was dangerously loose, especially by the shower, creating a serious safety hazard. • The radiator covers were broken, further adding to the unsafe conditions. • Basic amenities such as handwash and shower gels were not provided, which are expected as a minimum standard. These issues made the cottage uninhabitable and certainly not the relaxing and enjoyable retreat we had hoped for. The significant delays in resolving the heating issue and the overall poor condition of the property caused immense stress and discomfort, effectively ruining our holiday.

Thank you for the feedback. We are really sorry you experienced thse difficulties while staying with us. The heating was switched off by the previous guests, we attended to your request when we were able to and switched it on. Some stains on the bathroom ceiling wall were due to the mechanism that airs the room had stopped working. Other than this, there is no mould in the cottage. We need to report that you have caused irremediable damages to our wooden floor by dragging furniture around, white lines across the room that cannot go away. After calling an expert, we came to know that we will require a hefty budget to restore the floor to its prior condition. Property Owner

  • "We had a great time at Rosewood cottage."

The cottage itself is lovely and rustic but with all the amenities one could ask for. The hosts even left us scones, jam and clotted cream when we arrived which was a really nice welcoming touch. The beds are all very comfortable and we slept very well thanks to the lovely quiet position of the cottage. The garden is fully enclosed and safe for kids and dogs. The local area is great and very close to Truro for all shopping needs whilst only 20 minutes or so from many good beaches. We wholeheartedly recommend Rosewood for a family holiday.

So happy to know you enjoyed your stay, Richard! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! Property Owner

  • "A wonderful cottage to stay in."

Well furnished and equipped and really spacious. Owners really helpful and easy to contact and quick to respond. Location was perfect for us, very quiet and peaceful but only minutes to get to A30 to do days out to north coast south coast and lands end. And really close to Truro. Plenty of hot water and the heating made the cottage really warm, our visit was second week of January so was great to have wood burning stoves and good heating. Everything on the cottage was of a high standard and well maintained. No negatives at all. Thanks to the owners.

  • "Property lovely, but garden over grown, brambles and grass needed cutting."

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay in Rosewood. Some parts of the garden were deliberately left overgrown to attract wild life, otherwise the grass is being regularly trimmed. It can grow faster than usual during the summer months and sadly this August the constant rainfall did not allow us to trim the grass as we would like between changes. We are very sorry that you did not find our garden in its best and we will make sure it meets your expectations next time you visit us! Property Owner
