1 Customer Review

  • "A wonderful property with some of the nicest owners."

This tiny home has been done up to such a high standard, it’s comfortable, warm, and perfect for those who don’t require too much space. Lots of nice thoughtful touches like a deck of cards and a toothbrush charging adapter really made us feel welcome. St Just is also a great spot for exploring south Cornwall, plenty of gorgeous walks, beaches and coast to explore (even in less than ideal weather!) Highly recommend

The property

The Old Dairy Barn is snuggled in St Just amidst Cape Cornwall’s natural beauty.

This superb, detached barn conversion is a fabulous bijou retreat for two, with a perfectly formed stylishly designed interior, making the most wonderful base for your Cornish break. The open-plan ground-floor living space is light and airy, with wooden floors.

Cosy up on the welcoming sofa in front of the Smart TV after a day’s adventures exploring this Poldark country.

The slick kitchen has sage green units with Belfast sink, fridge, oven and hob; everything you need to rustle up a tasty feast.

The bench and stools offer a space to dine, better still, the dinky patio courtyard has a table and seating for alfresco nibbles and drinks.

Enjoy sunset tipples or a morning coffee before you head off. On the first floor, your bedroom greets you, with storage for your possessions, dual aspect windows and a Velux.

The chic en-suite shower room will set you up for the day and wash away those sandy toes after a stroll on the beach.

St Just Square is a pretty spot, with a bakery and delicatessen, and a food shop to stock up on those provisions.

Set off to Cape Cornwall, part of the Tin Coast and Cornish Heritage Site, with a dramatic coastline showcasing nature and wildlife.

See Brisons Rocks, notorious for shipwrecks, or venture to Priest’s Cove.

There are lots of great walks, to Sennen Cove in the South and Pendeen Lighthouse to the North.

Discover Nanquidno Cove, popular for bird watching, surfing and breathtaking sunsets, before continuing to follow the path along the tall granite cliffs to Gwenver Beach.

On returning to St Just, enjoy a drink in one of the pubs and cafes or browse the art galleries, including Kurt Jackson's Foundation. Within a short drive, you’ll find hot spot destinations of St Ives, Land's End with dramatic scenery, St Michael's Mount with a castle atop and The Minack Theatre, carved directly from the granite cliff face.

The Old Dairy Barn is the ultimate bolthole for couples seeking West Cornish escapades.

About the location

ST JUST

Penzance 7.2 miles; St Ives 12.9 miles.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival.
