  • "Really pleased with how clean the property was."

As a bit of a germaphobe I usually find something I’m not happy with but here I was pleased with all. My only negative on cleaning is the dishwasher needs a clean of its own as items were coming out smelly. It also needs a rinse aid top up. The location is great my family enjoyed being able to walk into town quickly. We’ve been coming to Cornwall most years for the past 22 years and have never stayed here but we’d certainly stay again.

Hi Vanessa, many thanks for taking time to write a review. We do have an excellent housekeeper so it’s great that you recognised the efforts put in to ensure our property is wonderfully clean - quite a challenge in a relatively short turn around. I will bring the dishwasher to their attention so that we can ensure it’s kept on top of. Look forward to seeing you with us again. Phil Property Owner

  • "Loved the property especially the views- only downside was very uncomfortable mattresses on two of the double beds, exeption was twin beds and double bed nearest the front door my son said that was very comfy."

Xpelair for main en-suite made a funny noise so we dare not use it. Lock to main bathroom was rattly. Otherwise great place but would be even better with memory foam toppers! Would come again.

Hi Alan, many thanks for your review. The views are fantastic especially if you can capture a clear sun set. Thanks for the information regarding the fan and the lock, we will take a look and rectify. Regarding the beds, everyone has a different view on a comfy mattress so it’s very difficult to meet everyone’s needs exactly. We have good quality mattresses and add protection for hygiene and extra padding for comfort. We have slept in the beds, as have friends and family, all finding them perfectly comfortable. We will look in to some additional mattress toppers as a possibility. Thanks once again, Phil Property Owner

  • "Positives: Location and view on Mount Wise (a central road at the top of Newquay town) was in short walking distance to the harbour, Fistral and other beaches and with a great sunset sea view."

The house is a high standard and fully equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking several meals and even baking cakes. There were some staple herbs and spices too and we were greatful for the welcome scones left. The lounge is comfortable and has sonos sound and the space is great for social living. Parking for 2+ cars was a welcome bonus. Less than positive: We contacted Sykes several times for a baby cot to be available in the property but was not available when we got there. We were not given a phone number for the property owner beforehand, although requested, which might have made the request for such items easier. The mattress in the ground floor double with terrace was so incredibly hard and uncomfortable we had many sleepless nights, dead legs/pins and needles and could feel the springs poking through. All other mattresses were fine, including the twin room.

Hi Stephanie, thank you for your review we are very pleased that you found 2 Quay Court to a high standard, comfortable and fully equipped. We have tried to think of everything that we would want from a holiday, and think it’s important that everything is at hand, just as if you are at home. The views as you say are wonderful, especially if you are lucky to see the sunsets as you obviously were. Regarding the cot, this is something that was not requested from us but you should have been made aware that we do not provide a cot. We have looked in to this and consider there to be to many potential issue/risks with such things as the mattress/allergies etc. We were requested to provide a high chair which we did. We are surprised that you found the double bed mattress uncomfortable. All our mattress are a high quality and we also use multiple mattress covers, some of which are quilted, to both protect the mattress and also provide additional comfort. We have never had any previous complaints about the mattress but also understand that different people like different levels of hardness/softness from their bed. Hopefully this didn’t put too much of a dampener on your holiday. Phil Property Owner

  • "This is a superb accommodation with everything you need to be comfortable."

We cooked every night a didn’t want for anything. We do have one recommendation and that is that the listing should be advertised as “not suitable for car charging”. On arrival, I plugged in my car charger and within 30 minutes, I received a call to say we couldn’t charge the car. This was a huge inconvenience and in this climate where electric vehicles are being used more, there should be an allowance for this. The comfort in the house really was 10/10 and you can clearly see the owner hasn’t spared any expense. Location was great too, just a few minutes walk to the beach and town. Superb for families and responsible groups of adults

Hi Shane, thanks for your fantastic feedback. We do aim to provide a really high standard of accommodation and try to ensure all needs are catered for. Regarding charging your car, we apologise it wasn’t clearer that you can’t charge a car but believe it’s pretty normal unless a car charger is specifically shown as a facility. We are looking in to providing a charger and hope to have one installed by next year. Look out for changes to our property details and features. Many thanks again, Phil Property Owner
