  • "We had a lovely stay at Ocean heights."

We couldn't fault the property and Denise the Housekeeper is only a phone call away should any issues arise. We appreciate our early check-in so many thanks to Denise for that. The townhouse is well furnished and in a great location. A new sofa has just been installed in the living area which was very comfortable. Everyone also had a great night's sleep in the beds. The En suite on the top floor where I stayed is very nice. You are a minute's walk away from Newquay Tolcarne beach, just one of many sheltered beaches Newquay has to offer and the town centre is just a little further. Nice secure dog friendly rear garden also. Loved our stay at Ocean heights and we will definitely return.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at 5 Oceans Height, newquay."

This is the second time we have stayed there and do feel that it perhaps needs little bit of TLC some of the walls could do with being painted. It is an amazing property in an excellent location. Just think it has got but grubby since the last time we were there. It's also a bit mis-leading that u advertise as pet-friendly then on arrival day we were advised our dog had to stay downstairs (not problem) but could have been.

We absolutely love it! We can’t wait to return next year. The house is beautifully furnished throughout, there is every appliance you need possible. The location is perfect, across the road from the beach, it’s an ideal location to be close enough to the town with being right in the town if that makes sense. Denise the house keeper is always on hand to help with anything you need. We really appreciate you sharing your home, thank you x

  • "It was absolutely perfect!"

Perfect location just off the main road in Newquay. The cottage was as described except I thought the garden was better then described and we enjoyed a couple of BBQs sat outside in the evening sun. The only jiggle I had was there was only one bin but Newquay uses two bags (one for general and one for recycling). We had to keep the recycling bag on the counter to stop the dog going through it so it would have been good to have had two bins in the kitchen. Otherwise I can’t fault it and will be hoping to return again

  • "Generally nice property."

Unfortunately, dishwasher full of dirty pots , old ladies razor in shower , shed full of last weeks rubbish. Also , it would have been nice to know scaffolding and building work was going on to side a rear of the property. Banging constantly aggrevated dog which I'm sure pleased neighbours and builders banging as early as 8am not really what you want on holiday. We recently stayed with self cater cornwall at Easter at Zinc close to fistral. They informed us several times before we arrived that building work was going on and gave us a discount as compensation upfront not after we arrived and raised it so we had a choice. Overall due to the above we were a little disappointed by what we got for what I would consider a premium holiday let. I would be interested to hear your views on the above. Jason

Thank you for providing your feedback. Our housekeeper on this occasion did overlook the dishwasher load and razor. She is always on hand to assist with any problems that arise for our guests but was not made aware of these oversights at the time. We have no control over any maintenance work that our neighbours choose to carry out on their own properties. Of course, should we decide to perform works on our property we would certainly ensure that any booked guests would be informed in advance. Property Owner

The accommodation is absolutely fabulous. It is just as described and very spacious throughout. Location is superb, the beach is a short walking distance and all of the beaches are all beautiful. The only issue we encountered was a squeaky bed on the first floor, however the housekeeper arranged for this to be repaired Hence the slight marking down on comfort. I would re-visit and recommend!

It is in an excellent location for the local, beaches and town, whilst Holywell and Crantock are just a couple of miles away, just 2 of many lovely beaches. The property was really clean and had a few little touches like the scones, cream and jam, tea, coffee etc which other let's lack. Denise the housekeeper kept in touch in case of need. The rear garden was safe and secure and parking right outside. Only one thing let it down and that was the double bed on the first floor which was very creaky. Luckily we were able to use the 3rd bedroom. A great house and better value than an almost identical property we rented in Newquay last year. Definitely one to try.

We asked the housekeeper to fix it but even they tried they said there was a lot of movement in the bed. It kept us all awake every time someone rolled over, I could hear it in the room above!! The building site at the end of the road was noisy as well. It wasn’t a relaxing break and for £2k for the week we were extremely disappointed.

he loose bed frame was brought to our housekeeperâ??s attention and an immediate fix was done to secure the frame. We endeavor to maintain our house to the highest standards and replace and improve fixtures, furniture and contents on an ongoing basis. • "When we arrived at the accommodation there was a funny smell of which we had to buy our own air freshener automatic dispenser to try and mask it."

However on our second day we returned back to over 50 big blue bottle flies. All the windows downstairs had been closed before we went out. We contacted the housekeeper who came round straight away and had someone come out to look who found no reason for them. We tried to find a cause and looked under the kitchen units and was met by rat droppings and rat poison. For the next 2 days we had to spray potent fly spray as we left to come back to 20/30+ dead flies. The work surfaces and floor was covered in dead flies. If we were able to find alternative accommodation in Cornwall (not for lack of trying) we would have left. We opted to stay in a self catering property so we could cook ourselves but we did not feel comfortable with this having seen rat droppings and the dead flies. I have video and photo evidence of this and would appreciate someone contacting me to discuss further

The pest control issue is very unfortunate and not, as pest control informed us, unique to our property. As soon as this problem was identified we have been dealing with deterrents and are addressing the entry point to eliminate any future unwanted activity. Property Owner

House was lovely but needs more comfy seating we were ok because we only had small children but if there were more adults there only 1 sofa and 1 chair. We expected the house to be spotless because of being closed and deep cleaning being done but under the sofa was dirty, splashes of tea on the wall and cupboard and we had to clean the hair out of 2 plug holes as the water wouldn't drain away so definitely not as clean as we would have liked but the house is beautiful and the beds were super comfy but a little small but we are used to king size. It was lovely and well equipped too. What was really nice was the milk and cream tea and the texts from the housekeeper, Denise letting us know when the accommodation was ready on the day of arrival. The only thing that was a slight negative was that we had to buy some new duvet covers and change the bedding as it had a strange smell and there seemed to be some hairs in the beds too. I think maybe this was oversight as previous feedback from other customers had commented as to how clean the accommodation was... I did have to wipe the kitchen down as well as the table mats as they were sticky with old food. This was only a little niggle. We had a lovely holiday and like the Ocean Heights accommodation. It is well located to visit Newquay’s beaches, zoo, aquarium as well as other locations. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The photos don't do the property justice. It's really beautiful and tastefully decorated. It was also great to have 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets. It was great to walk a few yards up the road in the evening and catch the sunsets. Walked to other beaches, around a mile to Fistral and then Towan beach as dogs aren't allowed on Tolcarne beach near the apartment which is worth mentioning.
