  • "Happy to report the cottage was ideal and secure for our 2 fur babies."

The accomodation was well provided for and well equipped, clean and tidy. The location is perfect and very rural, so naturally so peaceful. We had a couple of issues, but they were soon very efficiently resolved by the owners and did not cause us any further problems. The advice and recommendations locally by the owners was very much appreciaed. Highly recommend this lovely cottage for relaxing break. Thank you so much, Mike & Sarah oh and Alice & Sophie.

  • "Your directions to the property in your sentlitterature are impossible to follow."

Suggest that you get it updated by Owner. It should read From post code ( which is a garage) pass the front of the garage on your left up the road and follow until you see a wooden sign ( About 1/2 mile)on your left pointing down a narrow lane to the cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage."

However… Gate didn’t close so had to prop it closed for the dogs. Settee uncomfortable and shallow. The shower is to small. No space to move. No tea or coffee, black bin liner or basics which would have been nice considering the cost for the week and the fact tea and coffee and was advertised. Parental controls on the Sky TV so unable to watch things without a code which wasn’t provided. Only two sun loungers in the garden yet photos showed four. Lovely location and walks surrounding. Close to Polkerris beach and Fowey centre. Not worth the price. I’m sorry.

  • "The hosts Mike and Libby were very friendly and helpful."

The cottage was well located with a garage only a short distance away which sold a good selection of produce with a car wash next door. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

  • "Beautiful cottage set in a tranquil spot wonderful for walkers but also within easy access to Fowey by car."

Attractively furnished and well equipped the quirky cottage, originally old farm buildings, is in need of a little TLC in places. Our dog loved the garden, as did we, and an added delight was picking blackberries to add to our breakfast each day from the lane. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly and, living next to the property, on hand if needed.

  • "Adorable cosy cottage, fully equipped, clean etc."

Had a great week, weather was unpredictable, April showers with sun on the side. Total privacy, parking, a large enclosed garden for the dogs. Did manage an afternoon in the sun with a cuppa on the deck. The coastal path ran along the back of the garden. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. A hidden gem for those wanting to escape, but with a short drive to amenities (beaches, shops, bars and restaurants). Would highly recommend.

  • "We cannot fault the warm and cosy cottage."

The fluffy towels and crisp bed linen were lovely. Walking from the front door was an added bonus and the map provided was a great help. Just sitting on the decking on a sunny afternoon and only hearing the sound of birds was so relaxing. The location is ideal for exploring the South Coast. Our only comment would be to perhaps add some drawers in the bedrooms for storage. The instructions sent by the owners on the day of travel giving the actual location of the cottage were invaluable and we would suggest these are added to the Sykes information, as the location shown on the map is misleading. The lane to the cottage is very narrow, but the only encounter we had was with the owner as we were leaving.

  • "First I would like to say what a beautiful location this cottage has prefect for walking into Fowey."

The garden is great for our four legged friends and would be a lovely spot to enjoy on a summer day. The directions to the property are totally incorrect and it would be useful for further visitors to have the correct directions. When you arrive at the property the outside is in need of some attention, which spoils the initial impact (peeling paint work) The cottage it self was warm and cosy but is in need of some TLC. The carpets need replacing and having four legged friends it may be idea to have wooden floors? The sofas cover had been washed but were badly stained and need replacing. There is a really bad leak in the small bedroom, which is coming through the roof and causing really bad mould and damp behind the bed. We did make the owner aware of this and they were really concerned and now in the process of getting it sorted. With regards to the kitchen and the utensils some of the cooking equipment needs replacing ie frying pans and the cooker needs a good clean. There is very limited cups and glasses a few more are needed .

  • "An absolute beauty of a cottage."

It’s location was just far enough away to feel secluded and private but close enough to get anywhere without necessarily needing to drive. The place was immaculately clean and beautifully quaint. The garden was a mix of decking to sit out on and enjoy the weather, table and chairs for alfresco breakfast and dinner with the wild flowers for the bees and butterflies. It suited us down to the ground and would most definitely recommend.

  • "The kitchen in the cottage was not equipped for self catering."

It had a minimal 4 plates, bowls, beakers, glasses & cutlery. There wasn't any bowls to use to cook in the oven or microwave or any additional plates or dishes to make self catering more manageable. We had to empty a cupboard under the sink to make space to put our dry food items we had packed. Sadly it also lacked anywhere to hang damp towels following a shower. It also lacked a clothes airer to hang any washing you did to dry. The welcoming porch would have benefitted from a place to hang your outside coats & a boot rack for dirty shoes. The internal door to the bathroom did not close fully & there was no lock on the door if needed. Also, the internal door into the cottage from the porch had no handle on it so you could not shut it, it remained half open unless you put something up against the door from the inside but when leaving you had to leave it like that & just lock the porch door! Also, the tin roof on the property made it extremely noisy when it rained! And in the small bedroom there was no mirror or bedside lighting so you could read in bed. Both bedrooms had hanging space, but no drawers or storage baskets to store the rest of your belongings. Finally the directions for the property were not correct. The only way we found it was by ringing the owner. However, the cottage is set in the most beautiful place with fabulous walks from the doorstep, if all the above could be rectified we would not hesitate on booking again.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about your recent stay at Trenant Cottage. I'm sorry that there was a lack of cutlery and other essential items in the cottage, along with some maintenance issues to address, thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will be sure to rectify the aspects raised immediately. We will also endeavour to give clear and accurate directions to the property, which understandably can be difficult when travelling down Cornish country roads. I'm glad that you enjoyed our picturesque location and the great walks to the coast, we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner
