  • "A lovely house."

And plenty of room if you are part of a group. Its a lot bigger than it looks from the out side. Not much out door space, but there's enough space to sit out and enjoy the weather. The whole house looked well cared for and was exceptionally clean. The recommendation list of where to eat and visit, was very useful. The location was just perfect. With a minute walk away from the main road through Tintagel Village.

Be welcomed into the house and make your way to the living/dining area where you can sink into the plush sofa as you watch your favourite movies on the Smart TV or play a game around the dining table.

During warmer months, you can enjoy the feasts in the furnished, enclosed courtyard, concocted in the kitchen, which is home to everything you need for a self-catering break.

After a night’s rest in either a double or twin bedroom, freshen up with a shower in the shower room, and get ready to seize the day and explore your surroundings.

Around the village, said to have been the birthplace of King Arthur, you’ll find a variety of eateries, many of which are in his name such as King Arthur’s Arms Inn pub and King Arthur’s Cafe.

You won’t have to venture far as there is so much to see in Tintagel, like King Arthur’s Great Halls, which is believed to have served as home to the Fellowship of the Knights of the Round Table, Tintagel Castle with its rugged, cliff-top backdrop and absolutely jaw-dropping sea views, and Merlin’s Cave, a 330-foot-long sea cave believed to have been home to the famous wizard.

Don’t forget to walk across the stunning Tintagel Haven to see the cascading waterfall.

Drive down to Bodmin, a lovely Cornish town absolutely steeped in history and make your way to Bodmin Jail Attraction to admire the museum exhibitions or even take part in an overnight ghost walk if you’re brave enough.

Check out Bodmin Town Museum, a family-friendly museum with photos, artefacts and period displays about the town's history, and spend the rest of your afternoon at Priory Park Playground, feeding the ducks the other half of your picnic.

Come and discover Cornwall’s history at Cres.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination, surrounded by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
