"A lovely property, loved the cinema room and the arrival hamper was a really nice touch."
Beds were really comfortable and ample bathrooms for ease and comfort. Very well equipped.
Only downside was the time we had to invest in heating hot tub, it took 7 hours and lots of manning, we couldn’t go out because we needed to check the fire. Bit disappointing as our kids expected to be in it every day and we only went in once.
Dear Ellie, It was a pleasure to host you and your family and we are so pleased you enjoyed the house and your time with us. I am so sorry to hear you struggled with the hot tub. We have fired up the tub in all weathers and while the length of time is weather dependent the average range is 2-3 hours in mild weather and approximately 3 and a half in cold. For it to have taken you 7 hours is unheard of and I suspect something has gone awry with your technique. The most obvious explanation would be that the lid was not on when you were firing it so that the heat was escaping into the air. The three top tips to ensuring the speediest firing are 1) The lid must be on while firing, 2) Feed the fire - sounds obvious I know but dont let it settle down to embers, feed the flames. 3) Stir the water in the tub at regular intervals to distribute the heated water - the lid is hinged so that you can open half of it, a paddle is provided for stirring - then close the lid. Another important thing to do so that you can enjoy it all week is when you have finished using it put the lid back on and sufficient heat will be retained so that the next day only a short firing will be required to bring it back up to full temperature.
I am so sorry that you struggled but if you would like to rebook with us as long as your start date is a Friday (when James is there) if you contact Claire in advance we will be happy to fire it up for you so that it is toasty warm when you arrive! The majority of our customers enjoy the whole experience of firing the hot tub themselves, but we are happy to do this in advance whenever it is possible.

"The holiday started by talking to Claire (the housekeeper) 3 days before the holiday start date, she was lovely, really helpful with suggestions of places to visit."
The cottage was fabulous, comfortable, homely, well equipped. Spending each days on the different levels of garden makes it feel as though you have visited different places (steep steps but the up and down is the same as the Cornish coastline), the verandah gives another area and allows you to meet walkers on the coastal path and the friendly neighbours. The cinema room was just the icing on the cake and we had date night as even popcorn was supplied. Claire supplied a yummy hamper all supplied by a local farm shop and was always at the end of the phone for any queries (fabulously helpful). Coastal walks from the door, but we aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach in Pentewen between March and November. Coastal walk to Mevigessey 2 miles and catch the bus back is really easy, bus from the village to Heligan Gardens or hire a bike from the village - and finally The Ship pub in the village was really friendly, good food and served Proper Job ale so hubby
Really good holiday, memories made - fabulous cottage, but special thanks to Claire, having a house keeper who knows the area, is helpful and willing to share knowledge adds the sparkle.

"Thank you so much, this was a treasure of a find for us to visit Cornwall."
A listed cottage full of history and gracefully restored. Every modern facility and equipment provided for. The location is fantastic worth every penny paid for the views alone. There were gorgeous treats in the hamper and other treats, a lovely welcome on arrival. Thank you Claire for promptly and courteously helping with the few glitches we had.
For the owner I would just say that it would be helpful to review the documented guest guidance instructions e.g there were no bath robes or towels for outside use at the hot tub as stated. Although very quickly resolved as there are indoor robes and towels provided which we were allowed to use.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

"Lovely cottage."
Quirky, like many older properties, particularly in Cornwall, but well appointed, beautiful views and picturesque setting. Pentewan is a lovely village and benefits from a good pub, a local shop, proximity to the coastal path, excellent beaches, and amenities (supermarkets etc) at St. Austell. Nothing not to like about the cottage but if I had a choice I would love a more comfortable sofa in the living room. Be aware of the many steep steps to the upper terrace which means you get the great views, and access to the hot tub which is fab (and kept my husband usefully occupied for several hours - he loved it!) but it does take some attention and time to heat

The house is beautiful. Such care and attention to detail. Really clean, with lots of luxurious touches such as underfloor heating in the bathrooms, the beautifully designed cinema room, and the hot tub of course.
The location is stunning, with views for miles, access to the coast path, local beach & a great pub!
So good to have the dog with us too. Everyone we met were incredibly friendly and happy to suggest restaurants, explain local history etc. Special mention to Claire the housekeeper who was super accommodating (especially when we locked ourselves out) and helped with things to do locally, eateries etc.
oh and the hamper is to die for! I can’t think of anything to fault it.. if you’re in pentewan, stay here you won’t be disappointed.

"The hot tub needs attention as it is completely unusable."
The water level was very low, it's dirty, full of bits, smells musty and looks like someone dropped bread in it many moons ago which suggests it hasn't been cleaned for a while so we decided not to risk our health. Disappointing because that was the final decider when I was researching for a suitable property. On departure the man who disposes of rubbish and cleans the hot tub appeared. He said he had cleaned it a week ago. If he did then somehow, between him cleaning and us arriving, it miraculously got in this disgusting state! Interestingly he told us that it had a serious leak and he has already told the owner that she needs to get it fixed or replaced. The dining and living room furniture are very uncomfortable if sat on/at for any length of time, the king-sized bed feels like it's on a slope, upon investigation the mattress doesn't fit in the recess at the end and therefore slopes at head level. The smaller bathroom window needs cleaning where it opens at the top where it is filthy and full of spiderwebs and dirt etc and a replacement blind is also needed. The photos are not of the property as it is today and either they need updating or the property contents needs a makeover. We did enjoy our time and had the best fish and chips ever which can be purchased as a take away from The Ship Inn, sadly we would not return because we felt miss sold by the pictures and the reality.
Dear Deborah, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we always welcome constructive criticism as we strive to give our guests the best possible holiday experience. However, there are accusations in your review which I must, in the strongest possible terms, refute as false and totally inaccurate.
The Hot Tub - Before the arrival of every new guest the hot tub is emptied, scrubbed and cleaned filled with fresh water and sanitised. This is done regardless of whether the previous guest has used it or not. Every guest who arrives at Sea Cliff is given a fresh clean sanitised hot tub...as were you. There is only one of two explanations of how the "bread" got into the hot tub given that it was not in there when the house was handed over to you. Either you did have a hot tub and forgot to put the lid back on and the "bread" blew in there ... or it was dropped in there during your stay. What is interesting though, is that we always provide our guests with logs for them to get the hot tub going we provided the same to you, at the end of your stay the logs we provided were gone they were used.
As for the "serious leak" this is a misrepresentation of what James told you. The hot tub is a natural wooden eco hot tub and the wood needs to swell to seal in the water, how the wood responds is dependent on many factors, the weather, how often it is fired up etc. At the end of the year we have the hot tub "serviced" and if necessary tighten the bands so that water seepage is at the minimal, but some water loss is to be expected.
What I don't understand is if there had been even a grain of truth in what you allege re the hot tub.... why would you not phone Claire (who looks after the house) or the holiday company to complain..? We are very responsive and would have sent someone out straight away to investigate. You did not do this neither us nor the holiday company heard anything from you during your stay. However, since leaving I have been made aware that you have been attempting to claim a refund....... enough said.
I am sorry you found the dining room and living room furniture did not suit you. I have the same sofa at my home and chose this particular sofa specifically because I find it so comfortable. A perception of comfort is very subjective and am sorry it did not suit yours.
The bed is a Super King size which has a super king size Emma mattress which fits the bed perfectly.
Blind in small bathroom - we have had a back to back season and it is still ongoing. The blind is scheduled to be replaced in November.
You state the the property photos do not reflect how the house is today. This is completely inaccurate. We have an annual schedule of maintenance which includes amongst other things; a revolving schedule of repainting; all necessary repairs and replacements' deep cleaning of the inside and all equipment; professional cleaning of upholstery; repairs, maintenace and power washing all outside areas. The house and grounds is regularly inspected by the holiday company. We are always striving to improve and take pride in the standards we set ourselves. Many of our guests are very happy returners who come with a set of expectations we strive to exceed. As I said in the beginning we welcome constructive criticism...... so on behalf of my very hard working team and myself we are glad you enjoyed your fish and chips!

"Enjoyed our stay overall however we felt the property had a few maintenance issues and attention to detail missing that really should be there on a five star rating property and at a price that is being charged."
The initial WOW factor was soon tarnished by varying issues that have been fed back to the owner. We were disappointed. Nice area to stay, and good position to visit Mevagissey, Port Isaac and Padstow. Lost gardens of Helligan are wonderful and well worth a visit. The Ship Inn is a nice pub and food and wine were good.
Dear Faye thank you for taking the time to leave us much valued feed back as we are always seeking to improve the experience for our guests. I am very glad that you enjoyed some of the delights are area of Cornwall is able to offer despite you having a backdrop of very unusual (for this time of year) bad weather. On the Wednesday you sent a text stating the handle had fallen off one of the frying pans, some dvd's were missing from their cases, the bean bags from a supplied bean bag game were missing, and the lights on the top hot tub garden had stopped working. Claire delivered to you a new frying pan before 8.00am the next morning. Knowing about the top lights going down was very helpful, as we were immediately able to book in the Electrican to deal with this. Given the backdrop of bad weather, and having to entertain children, I understand your frustration over missing dvd's and components in a game. When we checked on the friday changeover, 2 dvd's were missing from their cases. At the start and end of every season as part of our maintenance programme we do check all dvd's, supplied games, tv's, remote controls etc. We don't expect guest to take them home with them but have realised this can inadvertently happen. We will add checking dvd's, games, and remote controls to our changeover routine. Thank you for pointing this out to us and we hope to welcome you back soon.

"Disappointed with your description of the property for starters !"
1) Garden is horrendous and ⛔️ to access and therefore we didn’t use it ! 2) Access to the gravel lane is also quite scary - we had to actually hold up traffic to manoeuvre in and out of the gravel lane ! 3) Carpet gripper is penetrating the carpet because the landing carpet is so thin and we had to put a towel over the bathroom/ landing access so our feet weren’t being constantly scraped - I actually cut the back of my heel on another exposed gripper coming down stairs 4) House looks shabby and is in need of some TLC - mould in both bathrooms 5) Various people wandered through our back patio garden area and left the side gate open, we wanted a secure garden area because we had our dog with us and wasn’t aware of public access - quite embarrassing as I was in my nightdress one morning and a man appeared in our garden from around the corner ! Overnight the outside lights were constantly turning on and off and disturbed our sleep, I couldn’t see a way of turning them off ! Overall we were very disappointed :(

We felt at home straight away. This is our 2nd visit to this property, and we have already booked to come again next year! Claire is very gifted at hospitality, leaving treats for our stay and making us feel very welcome. She answers any queries very quickly and gave us good recommendations of places to eat. The hot tub was a real bonus, and we enjoyed relaxing in the lovely hot water at the top tier of the garden, overlooking the lovely countryside and sunset. We slept so well on the comfy super king size bed, and enjoyed eating breakfast on the front porch, greeting the walkers who passed by. Walking down to the beach was a daily must, which only took a few minutes down some steps at the end of the road. The property is in a very good location for visiting nearby pretty harbours of Mevagissey and Charlestown. Thank you again for providing us with such a lovely restful holiday!
Dear Christina thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to welcome you back to Sea Cliff. We are so pleased that you took full enjoyment of all that the house, hot tub, village and surrounding areas have to offer. We all love our little corner of Cornwall. One of the biggest changes that has happened over the last few years is the emergence of truly excellent restaurants in our part of the world. Charlestown has become something of a foodie destination, The Longstore is a special night out and The Rashleigh Arms is excellent. Our own village local The Ship Inn has a new excellent chef (highly recommend his slow cooked dishes!). Slightly off the beaten track is The Kings Arms in Mevagissey truly an "in the know gem" !! All of the dishes are prepared by owner/chef Chris and change daily according to what produce he has sourced locally. He also has a fantastic wine cellar and is very knowledgable. There are only about 6 tables so it is essential to book in advance. Also he occasionally hosts wine and food tasting evenings .. great fun! We do hope you will come and visit with us again in the future.

Fantastic fixtures and fittings and beautifully decorated. There was nothing that we needed that wasn’t there. The welcome pack was out of this world - definitely the best we’ve ever had at a holiday cottage. The only disappointment was the time it takes to heat up the hot tub - because it is a wood-fired hot tub you need to stay with it, and it takes several hours.
Hi Sharon, thank you so much for your feedback. We are all absolutely delighted that you enjoyed the cottage and the welcome pack from our local farm shop Lobbs. A lot of our guests find the process of lighting and firing up the hot tub to be a fun and enjoyable part of the experience of the eco tub... but I am sorry you didn't find it so. We do take special requests to fire up the hot tub in advance of arrival and will accommodate this where it is possible (subject to James being able to stay longer to do so). "We had a really nice holiday at Sea Cliff Cottage with a great welcome box of goodies and extra treats on arrival."
The cottage was ideally situated for the local beach and amenities, (the Ship Inn food is very good), but there is a steep hill back to the cottage from the village. Claire the Housekeeper is lovely, helpful and responsive when contacted. We must mention James (I believe he is the maintenance man) who was so helpful on the morning we were leaving - thank you). Very friendly neighbours and in the village.
The rear garden has great views from both terraces, is private and quiet but is really very steep to access. The eco hot tub is a force to be reckoned with! We tried several times to 'fire' it up and eventually sadly admitted defeat, but other reviews have enjoyed a HOT tub so perhaps it was us!!
Overall we all had an enjoyable time in this cosy cottage.
Dear Stephanie I am so pleased you found the cottage and the village so welcoming and I couldn't agree more how lovely and helpful both Claire and James are. Did you discover the back way down to the village which has a gentler gradient with stairs but is slightly longer also if used at night you would need to take a torch as it is unlit? I am glad you found the rear terraced garden worth the stairs up to it; it really is very special up there and so private. I am sorry you struggled with firing up the hot tub we do provide comprehensive instructions both inside the house and by the hot tub, I promise you they work as I have tested it myself and our other guests have enjoyed the results. Well equipped, with some nice touches. Food hamper was lovely, but as I am coeliac alot of it wasn't suitable. Only complaint would be standard of cleaning.
Thick dust on blue bed head, drips on wall by the bin, freezer drawer stuck due to thick ice, half melted lollies left in freezer, marks on sofa, recycling left from previous occupants,Hoover bag completely full!
Otherwise had a nice stay!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback we do appreciate it. It is a shame you did not let us know that you are coeliac before arrival as we would have adjusted the contents of the welcome hamper to accommodate this. We are always happy to adjust the the hamper in line with guests dietary needs if we are informed in advance. I am so sorry that you had an issue with the standard of cleaning because as you can tell from previous reviews it is something myself, Claire and her team take great pride in. However, we acknowledge that mistakes can happen and all issues will be addressed. The fridge and freezer are cleaned out after every guest and can only think the freezer drawer was overlooked. All of the upholstery is professionally cleaned at the start of the season in April and again at end of October in readiness for our winter guests. Claire and her team deal with what marks they can. The recycling is collected by the council once a fortnight and suitable containers are provided out the back. We have added checking the hoover bag to the list of regular jobs that need doing. We do appreciate your feedback as we are always striving to provide the best guest experience possible I would only have wished that you had let us know while you were there so we could have come out and rectified any issues that you had. "Had a great stay at the holiday cottage and the boutique feel was perfect."
There were lots of lovely extras that made it special from the Food hamper and chocolates on the pillow to the gin and popcorn in the cinema room. The steps to each terrace are very steep and a lot of them. This would put us off returning. Although we had a hot tub which we did use there were not enough logs to heat it for the whole week and I was hoping for a Jacuzzi style.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Sea Cliff. There are quite a few steps up to the garden terraces but we believe worth it for the extraordinarily beautiful views you then enjoy. We provide enough logs for the first firing of the hot tub which can then be maintained very easily at that temperature with the lid on and gentle firing. While we do provide a lot of extras, as we like our guests to feel pampered, it is a self catering cottage and logs to maintain it are readily available locally. The hot tub is an eco wood fired wooden hot tub which we feel is more suited to the natural surroundings than the modern jacuzzi style.

So pleased you had an enjoyable stay at Sea Cliff. I am glad you kept going with the hot tub as it really is a very special experience with the gorgeous views of the valley. We hope to welcome you back soon.

"All in all 4 of us enjoyed our stay."
Beds very comfy but shower room needs more thought. No where to hang bath towels, no heated towel rail and no radiator therefore quite cold in Winter. Wash basin unusable due to being very high on shelf.
Only one toilet roll per bathroom.
In the kitchen some cupboard and drawer knobs were loose and can't be tightened. There was no washing up liquid, and very few dishwasher tablets.
Out of 15 remotes in property 3 were needing repairing, this was found out when engineer came out to check tvs and remotes. If you don't have sky etc no instruction on which remote is needed. Our friends do have sky but they were confused.
After contacting the caretaker Claire, she was very helpful in organising TV man and in posting new remotes the following day.
The snib on front door locked us out one day, but luckily my arm was long enough and slim enough to go through letter box and push it back up.
As it was Winter we didn't use outdoor facilities, but the steps are very steep and slippy with wet leaves, I would think most over 50s would think twice about going up.
The hamper was much appreciated.
Beach very nice and village pub The Ship was very friendly with good food and atmosphere.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. There is a shelf on which to store towels. However, a freestanding towel rail will be purchased. There is under floor heating in the shower room with the heating controls outside the door which allows the temperature to be adjusted. As this is a self catering property, enough toilet rolls, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are provided to start off your stay, along with a welcome hamper. There is a remote provided for each individual Sky box. A gardener attends the property regularly and also power washes the steps. However, at this time of year leaves are constantly falling. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the local beach and village pub.

"The cottage was overall an ok place to stay and in a lovely location with a nice welcome box but it was let down by overall not being maintained."
The hot tub was full of dead wood lice and the wooden cover was crawling with them which were not filtered out when heated just a fishing nets to fish them out. Neither of the lamps in one of the bedrooms worked. A lot of the glasses were dirty, not what you’d expect during Covid times. There were multiple things in the kitchen that we’re broken, like tongs with half a plastic handle missing. The gas bbq on the front clearly hadn’t been used for a long time with plant growth going through it. There were an awful lot of remotes in the movie room some of which didn’t work as well as the TVs in the upstairs room being difficult to connect to the WiFi. The hot water seemed to run out after a bath. The downstairs toilet seat was loose and moved when sat on. The pillows and duvet could do with replacing as they were stained when bedding removed and pillows worn down. The dryer didn’t work properly and kept saying it was full and only worked for 2 minutes before stopping. The oven made a humming noise when not in use as well as the lights in the kitchen when turned on. Some of the garden furniture was broken.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are very sorry to hear of the issues you raise, which are in stark contrast to many other positive reviews we’ve received for the property. As you’ll see to date, comments on the property, cleanliness and the owner have been complimentary so far and yours is the first which isn’t so. We’ve spoken to the owner who dispute your statement on several issues and feel these comments are unfair and unjustified. The hot tub is an eco-tub and does therefore not have a filter system, the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and sanitized every week to the highest standard. The owner is currently looking into purchasing an alternative rimmed system for the lid. Cleaning is a top priority at Sea Cliff Cottage, the cleaners carry out a full fogging service between each changeover. The tongs were not broken, they merely come apart to clean! All other items have been checked and nothing was found to be broken in the kitchen. The gardener has checked and cleaned both BBQ's, as he does every week, and did not find any plant growth? Each remote serves a purpose in the movie room ie PlayStation, X box, LED lights all run off a remote and all were checked and working fine as was the Wi-Fi. The hot water is run from a combi boiler and therefore cannot run out, there is an endless supply of hot water for baths and showers at Sea Cliff Cottage. Thank you for making us aware of the loose toilet seat and broken bedroom lamps. New lamps have been ordered and a maintenance man will attend to the loo seat. Following an extremely busy season pillows and duvets have now been replaced. The dryer has been checked and run through on each cycle and is working just fine, we think this was down to user error. 1 garden lounger was indeed broken, again thank you for bringing this to our attention, this has been removed and will be replaced. The owner takes their letting of Sea Cliff Cottage very seriously and prides themselves on giving good holiday experiences – this is reflected in the feedback we have received and we have every confidence this will continue to be the case moving forward.

"We had a fabulous week at Sea Cliff Cottage in Pentewan."
This is a fabulous rental, as soon as I spotted this house I looked no further. In reality it is every bit as beautiful if not more so than the photos as the house has real character. The location is towards the end of a private road so very few cars & and just the odd coastal path walker, the neighbours are super friendly too. We had glorious weather and spent a lot of time in the top garden which has spectacular views and is completely private, perfect for getting stuck into a good book with a cold drink. My teens loved the cinema room which had everything they could possibly wish for! We went to the Ship twice which I would recommend for good pub grub and took the coastal path to Mevagissey with the dog - be warned this is very very steep in places but some stunning views along the way. It is a pity the local beach doesn’t allow dogs at all but there were lots of dog friendly options in the vicinity. A big thanks to Claire who was super helpful and for the very thoughtful treats left for us. We loved everything about our holiday and will return in the future for sure.

"Lovely cottage in a great area perfect for visiting so many wonderful places."
Accommodation was clean and well equipped to a high standard. Property spacious yet retained original features where possible. Log burner a great addition. The front garden is a real evening sun trap- the rear gardens however were accessed by around 30-40 fairly steep and challenging steps so would not be suitable to anyone with mobility issues. Hot tub great in principle but be prepared to spend time getting it to temperature (the listing states 3.5 hours which we felt was accurate). The village is lovely and the beach is great, again due to the location this is accessed either via a fairly challenging set of steps, or a steep hill. This is not uncommon in Cornwall but again please do consider this if you aren’t so comfortable with this. The road to access the property is also a little narrow- however a Tesco van can fit so I’m sure most cars can- it may just look a little daunting at first! Heligan and Eden are both close, Meva is also very much a favourite of ours. Really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to the area again in future!

The garden is well thought out and provides a lovely space to sit out and enjoy the stunning views or to have a bbq. Whilst the hot tub requires a little perseverance it is well worth the effort. "This cottage is adorable."
Ideally located on a such a quite road above the village with ample parking.
Roomy cottage with lovely views. Very well equipped, they have though of nearly everything you should need on your holiday home from home.
We didn't use the hot tub or the top gardens as we were happy with being out the hot sun. But it is just as the pictures, you just need to be careful getting up and down as it is steep.
The main fridge being under the stairs is not ideal, kept banging our heads. Maybe a big one in the dinning room would be worth a thought.
Movie room is a great idea and the bottle of gin well received, yummy thank you.
The bedding and towels were superb. Main bedroom bed is so comfy.
Bathrooms are fab!
The hamper was divine, being fish eaters the smoked salmon was delightful.
So much to do, the river is 5 mins walk down the hill, the beach is the same. We walked the dog down the river most days as the beach is 'no dogs' for all the summer months which is a shame.
But there are so many dog beaches a short drive away which makes you go and explore.
Two great pubs and one very nice cafe who do great lattes.
Even with the beach and campsite in the village being full the cottage is so quite and relaxing.
You can walk to Mevagissey if you are able ( its challenging) on the coastal path within an hour.
Claire and her team are amazing.
So good we've booked again for next year!

"I can hands down say without argument this is the best cottage/holiday let/holiday home we have ever come across."
It is clear both the owner and those in charge of running it have put a great amount of thought, love and care into making this a truly perfect home from home.
The cottage itself is light and airy and coastal whilst managing to be equally warm and inviting.
The interior is of an excellent standard and feels like a real show of luxury and style.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need to make a self catering holiday as easy as it can be. Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine etc.
We received the most beautiful welcome hamper filled with essentials and delicious farm shop bacon and sausages and scones and clotted cream!
The beds are incredibly comfortable and we have both slept like a dream for the past two weeks.
The cinema room and entertainment selections are brilliant. Sky cinema, Netflix, PS4 and Xbox. There was also a lovely bottle of gin and tonic as a special treat waiting for us in here!
The beach is a five minute walk from the cottage (there is a hill!), and only 5 mins walk from the village pub and a couple of small and sweet cafes. We have found the locals to be lovely and friendly and the beach both serene and beautiful, although we were here out of season and I’m told by the locals that it is bustling village in the summer.
We booked here as a delayed honeymoon after discovering we were pregnant and not wanting to fly abroad but I am now so glad we did. I can’t imagine anywhere we could have made more perfect memories.
Claire who looks after the property could not have been more welcoming and helpful on hand for anything we needed.
She had left a bottle of champagne as a congratulatory treat for us and made sure the heating was on before we arrived.
The team came in after our first week to clean, bring fresh bedding and towels.
I couldn’t rave about Sea Cliff Cottage enough and we only wish we didn’t have to leave!
Thank you so much Claire.
We can’t wait to come back again.

"We booked this holiday because we wanted a cottage with a hot tub."
I did phone in advance to check that there would be enough fuel for the hot tub (it was an eco one) and also to find out how long it would take to heat up- I was told just over an hour.
On the first night my husband spent 2 hours outside (in the rain) , feeding the hot tub with the 2 plus bags of seasoned wood provided but it only got up to 30 degrees so we were unable to get in. The second evening we bought 3 further bags from the local garage . After another 2 hours it was still only lukewarm and so we gave up. We didn’t try on the third evening.
The cottage was lovely and Claire the housekeeper was very friendly (and sorted the broken backdoor as soon as we reported it ) but it was very disappointed not to be able to use the one thing I’d most been looking forward to.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. It is such a shame you didn't persevere with the hot tub, your stay was during a particularly wet weekend so we can appreciate that this was not ideal. The hot tub is cleaned and filled for every incoming guest and therefore the water needs to be heated for longer on the first occasion (usually 3 hours). Subsequent dips only need an hour with the woodburner lit to come up to a very comfortable 38 degrees. We hope to welcome you back on another occasion.

Sea Cliff Cottage is a great place for a relaxing holiday. It is comfortable, spacious and well appointed, a home from home. We loved the tv room with its starry sky feature, the free gin and tonic and full sky package. The bathrooms were luxurious and everything had been thought of for our comfort. The bedrooms are large and have plenty of wardrobe space. The welcome hamper was of very high quality and contained most of the essentials including butter, milk, bread, pate and fresh fruit to name some of the items,
The garden terraces are really lovely, however, the steps to get to them are a bit of a climb, our knees and legs were aching a bit by the end of the week, but the views from the upper terrace were spectacular and offered a great viewing point for sunsets.
An easy drive to local attractions and an easy walk to the beach and cliff top walk. There was plenty of parking space and the residents living in the rest of the terrace were very friendly.
