  • "Exceeded expectations - very clean, modern and comfortable house, well positioned in easy walking distance of beach."

Sea view from back bedroom and house in a peaceful location at end of cul-de-sac. House is very well appointed (especially the kitchen) with much thought for guests, and dogs thought of too with dog bowls, towels and treats. The owner is very friendly and helpful, being on hand for any issues or local recommendations (we didn’t know the Penzance Food Festival was on - well worth going to, great food and music!). Would certainly return to 3 Praa Cove for another holiday, Praa Sands is very well placed for touring the south of Cornwall with so much to see and do.

Thank you for you great review and pleased you got to go to the festival. It’s not only good fun but great to support the local businesses too! We do hope that you return and we get to welcome you again. There is an annual food festival also in porthleven which is an experience not to be missed in April too! • "We had a lovely stay in this beautiful house."

It’s ideally located a short walk from the beach, lovely beachside bar and cafe next to you. It had everything you need for a lovely comfortable stay. The locks on bathroom door are a bit stiff so didn’t use them incase you get locked in but apart from that everything was perfect. Thank you. Sykes provided the wrong what3words and address but luckily we had googled where it was and knew it was behind the Cafe.

Thank you for your response. I will get the bathroom locks looked at I was unaware this was an issue as not been mentioned. I have also asked Sykes to update the what three words! All the best Paul and Charlotte Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed are stay at 3 praa cove, just a few minor problems, unable to set correct temperature for various rooms, resulting in rooms being rather hot and having to open windows, also running out of hot water, can't see how this should happen when a 250litre unvented hot water cylinder has been installed, maybe another immersion heater in the cylinder might do the trick, otherwise a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, great location, lovely garden and good sized rooms."

  • "What can we say - we had a really great holiday at Praa Cove."

The fixtures and fittings are really high end and credit to the housekeeper - the cleanliness was fantastic! The bed was comfy and the showers were fabulous. They really have thought of everything, even providing 2 pin plug adaptors in case you forget yours for the toothbrush/razor. Ice machine in the kitchen along with coffee and filter papers for the coffee machine with milk and sugar, a welcome sight after a long journey. Minutes away from the beach so the furry family members could have a play every night. They were even provided with a big pot of dog bickies on arrival - a thoughtful touch, thank you. Lovely holiday, lovely property and in a great location for Praa Sands and touring the area. We can't see how anyone could find fault with this property.

Thank you for your lovely words and we are so pleased you had a great time - especially your furry friends! Please do come back. All the best Charlotte and Paul Property Owner

Thank you for your lovely feedback! Please do return esp in sunnier weather! We have another property called Atlantic View a new build on the main road just up from Praa village also available with Sykes. The picture is a flat roof white bungalow that sleeps 8. Property Owner

  • "Outside water tap and 3 x gates in garden all padlocked and could not be used."

Would have been very helpful to have had the codes. There is still a strong smell of sewerage from the pump at the front which usually meant a strong intake of breath before you ventured out, especially as this was the only exit in view of the above. Surely this could be sanitised in some way as has been done by the waterboard at our apartment block.

Thank you for your delightful feedback. The reason for the lock on the hosepipe is because we have been in a hosepipe ban for over 18 months now and as an owner I am responsible for its usage and therefore could face a fine. As for the padlocks on the gates these are for your security and safety and the passcode is always the same as the door code as mentioned in you personalised welcome letter. The slight smell has been dealt with now the carbon filters on the septic tank have been changed and the tank re emptied. A lot of surface water due to the heavy rain recently had caused issues. Only lovely sea air to be smelled now. It’s a shame you haven’t mentioned the positives on my lovely home. If you would have called one of the three contact numbers on the form we could have assisted you. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at this Holiday Home, It is much bigger than it appears in the photographs."

It felt spacious & was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, Kitchen fully equipped. The Garden was fully enclosed for our dog & has a lovely decked seating area with a great sea view, 3 minute walk to the Beautiful beach. The garden area is a great spot for star gazing at night & the outside light was a great benefit when needed. The pantry essentials plus dog treats were a lovely gesture. We received a curtesy call on our way from the housekeeper informing us the home was ready earlier than expected. It was lovely to receive another call a few days later asking was everything ok & brought us clean towels end of the first week. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your lovely feedback on our home. We are so pleased you had a super holiday and do hope that you will return to us. Kindest regards from Charlotte Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable, well equipped house, tho the master bedroom doesn't have the sea view."

Short walk from an amazing beach. Difficult to find initially: it's via Pengersick Ln. The actual road isn't named. It's access is between Sandy Stores and the holiday park, and directly opposite Trewartha Rd. Wish this info had been provided. Option for the provision of dog crates would make it properly dog friendly as we had to bring our own on a trailer. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend.

  • "Excellent holiday home, well furnished & equipped & spotlessly clean."

The beds were very comfortable & the standards throughout were high. Only a short walk to the beach which was lovely. Only downside was that it was the least generous in terms of a welcome pack of any holiday cottages we have stayed in, very frugal. Previous holiday homes have provided hampers of local produce which really did feel like a very warm welcome from the property owners & the area & what it can provide locally.

  • "This is a lovely place to stay in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from the beach."

Well equipped, plenty of room for two adults and two dogs. This property is at the higher end when it comes to places to stay and there were some nice added extras like dog treats for the dogs and shower gel and moisturiser for the humans but I felt it lacked a few things too. There were no extra human treats which is quite the norm now ( there was milk and sugar and some tea and coffee). There was also no kitchen paper and only one loo roll in each bathroom which felt mean when you are charging almost £1000 for a week out of season. There was also no battery in the weighing scales and when you have to measure out dog food everyday this was annoying. The info folder was also out if date and said happy Christmas and there was no additional info like where is good to eat or some activities you might like to try. It just felt like there was a lack of care and attention to detail in some aspects All that said this is a lively place in a great location and I would possibly stay again.

The photos just don’t do it justice, it is in a perfect location with incredible views. We were very lucky with the weather, but even on the one bad day we enjoyed playing board games (that were provided) in the property. It is a very secure garden, which the dogs loved. Very friendly hosts which were contactable should we need them, and everything was provided from tea and coffee to shower gel and shampoo! We would highly recommend a stay here, and make sure you try KC Fish and Chips! Along with the shop at the top of the street that has a large Christmas section! • "Thank you for a wonderful stay at 3 Praa Cove."

The house is lovely, spacious, clean, really comfortable and well equipped. It is an ideal location for the beach. The only thing we would say that is missing is a BBQ. I think there is a problem with the sewage pump which is located on the road just outside the driveway, if the wind was in a certain direction we could smell it quite strongly. I’m sure this is something that will be sorted out so it certainly wouldn’t put me off booking the house again.

  • "This house was truly fantastic."

The level of supplied equipment outstanding, and a welcome pack of food and even dog treats! We were very happy with the standard of everything - to the point that finding anything to complain about has proven difficult. I have three minor observations that could top off what is a lovely house: Access to the beach via the garden gate means you can't close it without bolting it, this makes getting back from the beach tricky. A coffee table in the living room would reduce the chances of drinks getting spilt while seated around the L-shaped settee. Lastly, directions to the house could be improved - the house is off Penwerris Rise, not Castle Drive.

Thank you for your lovely review and your suggestions I will certainly take them on board. I am glad you hear that you and your canine friends had a great time. With the house being a new build some sat navs aren't quite up to speed but I will speak with Sykes and get them to update some directions for me. We have only just acquired this property in February and taken a deal of time kitting it out and getting it right and yes you are correct coffee tables a good idea. Thank you. I do hope that you will consider returning, keep safe from Charlotte. Property Owner

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
