  • "Such a beautiful place to stay and re charge your batteries."

The window seat was the perfect place to sit read watch the waves and the world go by. All the locals that we met were lovely and the pub is a great place to visit very welcoming and a great quiz night on a Tuesday evening. We didnt want to leave but I'm sure we will return.

  • "Waves End cottage is a delightful studio apartment on ground floor level."

It's situated about 15 metres from the sea with a lovely window seat looking out to the waves. It is well equipped for two people. The kitchen has most facilities, with a washing machine but no dishwasher. There are plenty of cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. There was generally enough hot water but on the final two days the automatic water heater did not provide the usual temperature. The heating was brilliant. Too warm on occasions, and we'd been advised not to fiddle with the timers which are controlled 'remotely'. The area is beautiful with lots of lovely local walks. The village was very friendly and we got a warm welcome in the Rising Sun. October can be a stormy month. We arrived in a huge storm with sea waves coming up to the house! Very exciting. Then 6 perfect autumn days. The owner was concerned enough to telephone and kept in touch during the week. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

Dear Sylvia Thank you for your feedback and glad you had a lovely week in our one bedroom apartment. Not sure why the hot water was less hot on two days as it’s on a timer the same each day, but thank you for the heads up we will keep an eye on this. Kind Regards Eva and Glen Property Owner

  • "Beautiful little cottage, set in an ideal location with stunning views."

Could not fault anything as it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our 3 day break. We came home yesterday and within a couple of hours booked for a longer stay next year. A little gem of a place.

Thanks Margaret so lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay and can visit again soon. The relaxing magic of the bay has been calling us back for over 30 years (which is kind of impossible as I don’t feel older than 21yrs old) Kind Regards Eva and Glen Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful flat and exactly as described."

It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing week. I loved sitting on the window seat at the end of the day looking out over the bay.

Thanks Morag, we are so glad you had a great stay. Sitting in the front window or out on the sea wall wrapped in a blanket is my fave place in the whole world. Hope you can visit again soon. Kind Regards Eva & Glen Property Owner

  • "A fantastic cottage where the location could not be better."

Everything that you need is provided. It is well presented and in excellent condition and bright and airy, a very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. The only points with mentioning is that whilst there is parking at the property the access is very narrow and so only a small car will fit (our mini fitted with only 5mm each side of the walls). The shower is also a little weak and the water was never hot enough. This in no way spoinlt what was a fantastic stay

Dear Dr Williams I’m glad you had a fantastic stay. Yes the parking is only for the tiniest cars to get down the side, these historic buildings are a pain. Well done if you managed to park in the back. We do say in our welcome pack this is an issue and large cars need to park in the road next to us where there is plenty of space. The shower isn’t a power shower but the water should be piping hot (it’s an electric shower). I’m wondering if you felt running the water to the sinks were cool? This comes from the tank and does take a bit of patience with about a minute to come through hot. I will get our cottage manager to check both, thank you so much for flagging it. So relieved neither spoilt your stay and very glad you found everything else was lovely. The position we agree is unbeatable. Hope you got a good relax. Very Kind Regards Eva and Glen :) Property Owner

  • "Home now from a very relaxing and enjoyable week at Wavesend, indeed it would be very hard not to relax there."

The accommodation is just as shown in the photographs. The beach is a very short walk across the road away and the outside relaxing space is to the front of the property with beautiful sea views. A mere 300yards away is a welcoming pub. Lovely local walks and opportunity to spot seals and many places of interest in short travelling distance. It is a lovely place to relax and do very little, which we did, however there are water sport opportunities with hire at the beach shack. There are many places of interest to visit in easy travelling distance and Mevagissey a steady but steep walk up and down hill or a short drive away. Lovely location and comfortable welcoming furnishing when it’s time to head indoors.

Thanks a million, it was so lovely you could come and stay. We hope you can come back soon. Kind Regards Eva and Glen :) Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful honeymoon at Waves End."

Stylish and beautifully decorated with quality fittings and individual art throughout, which we found was the work of the owner Eva. A super comfy bed and premium bedding and towels gave the touch of luxury that we loved. It was lovely to find an art box and a note from the owner encouraging guests to try their hand at sketching, painting etc. Portmellon is a lovely quiet location with a real community feel and Waves End is at the centre of this. We particularly liked paying a visit to The Shack which sold essentials and also had a seating area to enjoy a pint.of Rattler, overlooking the bay. We also the cream tea gift that was left for us too.

Thank you, we loved having honeymooners at Wave’s End and are so happy you had a great stay. Thanks for emailing your sketches they are fantastic and such a beautiful way to remember your time here. I’ve had my paints out this week inspired by you! Hope you can visit again soon. • "Fantastic little place."

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Had everything you needed for a perfect getaway for two. Parking was easy as was loading and unloading. Nice king size bed which was super-comfortable. Lots of space to put your things away in the kitchen and bedroom. We used the wood burner each evening which was simple, fun and very cosy. There aren’t many shops around to buy supplies - but we bought things from a supermarket only a few miles away in St Austell. Can’t recommend this place highly enough! We are planning our next trip back..

  • "The cottage was as described."

We could not find any instructions for the use of the oven although most other devices handbooks were available. The appartment above was quite loud( well it sounded like the occupants were walking on floorboards above( there has obviously been no sound proofing. Just to clarify this was just a single person we believe walking to and fro in the apartment above!

Dear Tim and Lynn Thank you for all your feedback and your lovely email I also received earlier this week. As you know we furnished the cottage fully throughout last October; and I’m glad you found the kitchen so well equipped, it was super helpful you spotted I missed egg cups, these are winging there way to our house manager today. We want our guests to have the most wonderful cosy stay in this 200 year cottage apartment, but we know beautiful old cottages like ours have a few quirks; and as you mentioned we do have a single gentleman living above and you can sometimes hear him moving about. My husband and I stayed at the cottage two weekends ago and could hear a bit of movement but didn’t find it bothered us. I’m really sorry if that detracted from your stay and I will be monitoring the situation. It was great to hear in your email you would like to come and stay again and you enjoyed the welcome Cream Tea we provide. I love that you appreciated the photos of the bay on the bedroom wall. These were kindly given to me by a family that also share the sea front, showing their grandparents and great grandparents and life in the bay about 100yrs ago. They are such a treasure to keep alive the history of the bay in Portmellon. Thanks again for helping us fine tune ‘Wave’s End’ we would love the outstanding position on the sea front and our attention to detail inside to draw guests back regularly. Very Kind Regards Eva & Glen PS I will print the cooker instructions and get them to our house manager today:) Property Owner

The property is very comfortable, well equipped and stylishly decorated reflecting it's coastal location. Ideal for swimming and there are plenty of walks and villages to explore right from your front door. There's even an beautiful little art box for you to create some watercolours to remember your stay. Mevagissy is only a short walk away, is still a working harbour; so lots going on, and has some lovely pubs and cafés/restaurants. The owners provided a well thought through welcome pack prior to our arrival including parking information etc which was very helpful.
