Maintinence issues need to be addressed as you will probably be aware of Beds need an update although only the one was slept in as other family members were poorly and couldn’t come These issues would not stop us booking Cornerstones again as overall it was very comfortable

  • "The property is beautiful everything you need & more."

Lots of garden for you dogs to run around in . Beautiful conservatory to sit and talk or just star gaze spent most our time in the conservatory. Kitchen has got everything you need & more . Lots of tv's But we found hard to get working as to many remotes to each tv sky signal was very temperamental. This was our only niggle in the whole property Hot tub was wonderful & such a delightful end to a long day . Wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future.

You need a PhD to work out the TVs and the hand held showers are all Brocken and need replacing. Other than that a fabulous holiday home.

  • "Cornerstone is a very well equipped, wonderful property that provides a home away from home."

All appliances are easy to use and the owners have thought of everything you'd need to have a relaxing time away. The garden is private, large and beautifully planted, with a long lawn expanse that is great for dogs running around. There is ample parking. It is just a 20 minute walk into town or down to the promenade.

The only downside was the road noise but we didn’t hear it after a while and you certainly weren’t aware of it inside the house. Highly recommended.

  • "We absolutely loved the house and have to say the first impressions were wow."

The cleanliness was second to none and the facilities were brilliant. Unfortunately the one thing that spoilt our week was the noise of the A30. It was consistent until 11pm and then started again around 6am so lack of sleep would I'm afraid not want us to rebook.

  • "Cornerstone is an amazing property, large really well equipped with hi-spec fixtures and fittings."

Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and great showers. Good base for exploring West Cornwall, however being located right next to the very busy A30 made sitting outside uncomfortable (we really noticed the noise as we live in a quiet area) wasn't too bad inside house and was quieter in evenings but had to keep windows closed. Believe this is a fairly new rental and information pack was a bit sparse, could do with some more detailed instructions on things like TV's & especially hot tub, we had an issue with cleanliness which housekeeper sorted really quickly. Great house for families/large groups so well equipped but no BBQ!! Would definitely recommend if your not looking for a peaceful get away as house is amazing.

We spent most evenings in the lovely big conservatory just relaxing. Unfortunately the hot tub had broken which was a real shame but Georgia the excellent housekeeper and Sykes couldn't have tried any harder to get it fixed. We still had a great time and luckily the weather was good. About a 15min walk into Penzance. Vineyard just across the road well worth a visit. Highly recommended

  • "One of the downstairs showers flooded due to a blockage."

This was resolved very quickly. There was an extremely bad odour in the downstairs en-suite bathroom. Although someone attempted to resolve the issue, the odour persisted for the duration of our stay. I feel there is a major problem with the toilet sewerage. There was a strong smell of animal urine in the lounge which meant we couldn’t use that area comfortably.

We are extremely sorry that you had some issues during your stay. We are pleased that the shower blockage problem was quickly resolved. We have had the plumbers out to deep clean the bathroom sewerage and we have not had any further negative comments in this regard. All of the rugs and upholstery were deep cleaned professionally the week before the house became available for rental on the 1st April, 2023. However, we have had a lot of guests who have brought their furry friends, so perhaps there were a couple of accidents. We have removed the rugs to avoid this happening again. The property is throughly cleaned on each turnover day and there is always someone on call to assist, if necessary. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Property Owner

The only little gripe I had was the mattress in bedroom 1( upstairs) very thin that you could feel the slats of the bed frame making sleeping very uncomfortable, other than that everything else is of high quality .

We are thrilled that you had a lovely stay at Cornerstone and thank you for drawing our attention to the mattress issue. We have immediately replaced it. Property Owner

The property

Cornerstone is a contemporary, detached holiday home situated on the outskirts of Penzance, Cornwall.

This pet-friendly abode enjoys a large, enclosed garden with a bubbling hot tub, furniture to dine alfresco and a pond, perfect for families, friends and two dogs.

Enter the gated driveway and step inside the home, where you will find the white-glossed kitchen with an island to prepare home-cooked meals.

Gather at the dining table to tuck-into a feast; afterwards savour a glass of wine in the conservatory as you admire your surroundings, which is shaded with palm trees.

Catch-up on your favourite shows in the light and airy sitting room and when the sky darkens, watch the stars from the hot tub in the rear garden.

When eyes tire, there are three bedrooms on the ground floor, with two king-size bedrooms with a TV, one with an en-suite shower room, and a bunk room with a TV, ideal for the younger ones.

Venture upstairs to the first floor to discover another king-size bed with a TV, an en-suite and Velux windows to see the starry sky.

Head into the heart of the town of Penzance, home to a quint harbour and promenade for coastal views, as well as the National Trust - Trengwainton Garden for a 16th century home.

Spend the day in the picturesque town of St Ives, where you stroll along Porthgwidden Beach, relax on the sand, or take a swim in the sea.

There are also plenty of restaurants and pubs in St Ives, as well as a variety of shops, so you can enjoy a bit of retail therapy during your stay.

Also within easy reach is the town of Marazion; here you can paddle in crystal clear water, sunbathe on sandy beaches, and dine out with a great selection of eateries to choose from.

All this and more awaits at Cornerstone.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
