  • "Lovely property but not suitable for elderly as unable to get in the shower due to height of bath."

Back bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable leaving myself and hubby with backache.garden needed a bit of tlc as decking was coming apart in places and no cushions on furniture. It's a lovely cottage though had everything needed for a holiday let give it the tlc mentioned and it would be perfect. I would also give better instructions on the heating .

  • "Lovely cottage ."

great location in need of some tlc regarding damp in cottage makes cupboards and crockery smell a little. Was a surprise to only find 1 wine glass - despite being listed and ample space for 4 adults to stay . would benefit also from providing hand soap in the bathroom

Hi. Many thanks for the feedback which is always appreciated and so glad to hear that you think it's a great location and a lovely cottage. Many apologies for there not being any hand soap. I'm finding out how that can have happened. Hand soap should be provided by the housekeeping team and so I've taken that up with them. The same applies to the wine glass situation. Property Owner

  • "Kittiwake is in a lovely location and beautifully decorated and comfy beds."

Lovely to arrive to scones and clotted cream and a pint of milk to get us started with a lovely presented tray of a tea and coffee selection. The garden path leading up to Kittiwakes garden is communal with next door but that didn't cause us any issues with the dogs and both neighbours were extremely friendly. The Lugger pub at the harbour a short walk away is cosy and does lovely food but the Polruan ferry to Fowey takes you to many lovely Restaurants and pubs and is every 15 mins and takea card. Many great walks, Hall Walk circular a must, Lantic Beach Walk and walk from Fowey to Polkerris Beach, Sam's on the Beach great food. Charlotte the owner is so helpful and wouldn't hesitate recommending this beautiful cottage 5 star. We'll be back.

  • "Very nice little cottage but it would be a squeeze for four people."

  • "We really enjoyed staying in Polruan, it’s a charming village and very atmospheric, although you have to be fit to climb the hill to Kittiwake."

We realised that, as a cottage it would be small, the bathroom is particularly small but the shower was excellent. Both bedrooms are really comfortable with excellent clean bed linen and nicely furnished. There is only seating for 2 people on bar stools in the kitchen, so, if you cook, meals have to be eaten on your lap, we actually ate out every day. We did experience difficulty with the key for the front door, also, more information is required as to how the hearing works, which was frustrating, especially for the electric fire, we found the details after a couple of days, but would have been better to be included in the folder. Nice welcoming pack of scones, thank you, also good that dishwasher tablets/basic cleaning cloths were provided. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage for 2 people looking for a relaxing break.

  • "A great little cottage."

We were booked as two couples but in the end was just the two of us . Even though there is two double bedrooms the bathroom is very small and the downstairs in small also so would of been a squeeze with 4 adults. But the cottage is lovely. I think we should also warn people about the location we are pretty fit but house sits on a very very steep hill and the car park is at the top of the steep hill. We didnt find it a problem but elderly or anyone with a disabilty would struggle. But a beautiful cottage in a lovely place.

About the location

POLRUAN

Polperro 6.5 miles; Looe 10 miles; Lostwithiel 10 miles.

Polruan is a small fishing village situated on a steep hill on the Fowey estuary, made famous by the author Daphne du Maurier. It remains unspoilt and retains the atmosphere of an old boat building community and has a small beach. The Polruan chain tower known as Polruan Blockhouse is one of only five known to exist in England, and is a small structure built beside a river or harbour to house the mechanism for raising and lowering a defensive chain to prevent the passage of ships in times of danger. It and the chain tower on the opposite bank of the River Fowey are the earliest chain towers to have been constructed. The village has a Post Office, local store, gift shop and pubs. A five minute ferry ride will take you to Fowey, with a range of sophisticated shops and restaurants. In August, the Fowey Regatta is a fun-filled week of activities and events, including RNLI displays, a carnival, spectacular firework displays and a display of classic yachts.
