  • "The house is decorated in a really lovely way and very well equipped."

The view is second to none and the location could not be a more perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. We had some wonderful meals both in Port Issac and around the local area. The house was not very clean at all which will let this stay down. We are not being over fussy or critical but not even a service lawyer clean had been done. We found rubbish from the last guests, no where had been dusted, all of the windows were in a disgusting state both inside and out, previous guests comments on garden furniture cushions etc not being cleaned had just been ignored. It really took the shine off our stay in terms of having to clean on our first day and then adhoc clean items before we used them during the week. Such a shame as the propery itself would otherwise be 5 star!

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the spectacular views from the property and took advantage of all that Port Isaac has to offer! We are so sorry to hear that you felt the cleanliness standards were not up to par. This really comes as a surprise to us! Your comments are greatly appreciated and these will be reported back to the caretakers. We will also be getting the windows cleaned professionally, given the prime location of 1 Tintagel these can be at the mercy of the seagulls but we try and combat this as much as we can! We only wish you got in touch with us during your stay so we could have had the opportunity to help you! We hope we get the chance to welcome you back to 1 Tintagel in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays. Property Owner

  • "The listing has no pic of the back of the property not the front, the numbers on the road are not in sync so we were driving up and down the road, eventually one of us got out and walked, and found the number which had been hidden by a high sided vehicle parked on the road."

The house is dusty, especially the large wooden cupboard housing the crockery, large cobwebs and dust inside and at the back of the cupboard, made us wash every piece of crockery before use. The outside of the windows must not have been cleaned for months, large cobwebs with insects caught, and very badly stained windows with bird splats. The garden room cannot really be used because it houses the garden cushions, easily rectified with a large plastic container just outside the back door. I think patrons should be made aware of the stairs inside the property, to get to the bathroom at night you have to navigate the steep uneven dog leg stair down to the top step, and back up the other side to reach the bathroom door, I would not recommend for children, elderly or mobility issues.

Thank you for your comments re the dust and we have raised this with our cleaners. We are arranging for the windows to be cleaned but as this is a coastal cottage we cannot always anticipate the activity of the sea gulls. This is an early Victorian property so the stairs reflect that era. We have a light on the landing which is on all night and there are also loos in the en-suite of the main bedroom and the shower room downstairs. Noted re the cushions for the outside sofa and we usually store these beneath the stairs but they are also left out for guests to use during the summer months. Property Owner

  • "A gorgeous cottage with breath-taking views, in a quiet residential road only minutes away from eateries (recommend the old school) and the local coop."

The village has quite a few interesting touristy shops and fabulous walking. Comfy beds and furniture. Plenty of loo roll and dishwasher tabs provided, but no tea bags. It would have been helpful to have instructions/manuals for how to operate the oven, bin/recycling details etc. A little more maintenance in places would be helpful: it took some effort to close some windows, there is no blind over the bathroom window, and the fridge froze our veg. The house was fairly clean, but the cushions for the garden furniture had many bird splats. These were fairly small details though, overall we had a great stay and would recommend this lovely spot.

Thankyou for taking the time to feedback on your stay. There are instructions in the draw of the butchers block but we will make this clearer for our guests to locate. The welcome information folder has all the bin details in but we will double check this! The bathroom you mentioned has no overlook so there is no blind on the window so it does not spoil the lovely views It is great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Great location, as right in the middle for both Port Gaverne and Port Isaac."

Only a 5/10 minute walk to both areas, but a bit up and down, so it would take a bit longer if your mobility is poorer. Lovely comfy house with a scandi rustic design and near sea views from the back of the house. That feeling of living right on the sea is very calming and relaxing. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are extremely pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time at 1 Tintagel, and that the property suited you well. • "1 Tintagel Terrace was a fantastic spot!"

Stunning views across the sea and the Tintagel headland. It was wonderful to see the view from the Lounge, garden, master bedroom and master bathroom. The master bed was comfortable, if not a little small for us (but it is advertised as a double rather than King size, so our fault really). The house was well set up for our stay and we didn't have any issues with finding the parking, the key, the kitchen was well equipped and the house was super comfortable with throws on the sofas, and a starter for the log fire. Its such a great location and we loved our stay. The property is managed by a management company - which lets the house down in our opinion. The cleaner had left the cleaning products dotted around the home. The toilet downstairs had an issue with the loo roll holder coming away from the wall. The BBQ was dirty, so we had to clean before (and after use - which is fine), no bin bags for the bin. We also were frustrated to find the welcome book with all the information hidden in a kitchen draw on the 5th day (so we had no idea about bins collection etc.) We also had to go on a hunt for the outside seating cushions, which were hidden under the master bed. Overall exceptional stay and we would book again in a heartbeat, but the management company need to be more detail orientated on the handovers cleans/ set up.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Your comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays and to the owner. • "Lovely comfortable accommodation, very well equipped loved the furnishings, objet d’art & wall art."

Only slight negatives were the slight smell of damp when we first arrived (not sure if property had been let the previous week) , an absence of any welcome/ info pack containing instructions re appliances and refuse collection etc & several bin bags of garden refuse left at front of property. The above is really only nit-picking & for the owners attention. In all we had a fabulous week, superb weather and would definitely book again.

  • "'The house was very good and was one of the best we have stayed in, we would book it again."

Parking on the designated space was ok until it rained, then the car slid on the grass until it was on the tarmac. It then became very muddy and difficult to park. There was no ironing board, washing line or tumble dryer. The grass in the garden was long and there wasn’t any comfortable seats for the open space'.

Thankyou for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We are so glad to hear you had such a great time at 1 Tintagel! Our Apologies about the parking space, it can become slightly slippery if it rains... The ironing board should have been in the cupboard under the stairs with the clothes dryer/airer, our apologies you were not made aware. The grass is routinely cut but we will see if this needs to be brought forward. The owners have purchased an outside sofa new for the 23' summer season! We hope we can have you back in the future! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner
