  • "A great week at Grey Roofs, perfect location for exploring north Cornwall."

Everything we needed was in the cottage, or on our doorstep. Will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely Port Isaac again next year.

  • "A really charming gem of a cottage."

Amazing position and parking up the hill was fine. Lovely original features, the decor was quirky but totally in keeping and really welcoming and fun. Sitting room very small but cosy for 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters - the wood burner was fab, the cottage heated up really quickly after cold wet hikes over the coastal paths. Welcome pack and daffodils were a lovely personal touch. If the cottage was mine I wouldn’t want to rent it out! A lot of love and thought has gone into the decor. Thank you for making it available for holidays - another week of happy memories, we have been coming to the area for years. Only downside were the mattresses which were not very comfortable. We had a lovely few days despite the unseasonably wet and windy weather.

  • "Beautiful, cosy and fun property in a perfect location with stunning roof terrace."

Interiors were of an extremely high standard and expertly decorated. Everything worked perfectly and the kitchen was one of the best equipped we've stayed in. We stayed in March and property was a bit chilly when we arrived but soon warmed up once the radiators kicked in. Good instructions about heating, hot water and all appliances are provided. If you're going in winter, get a couple of bags of logs and kindling from the coop at the top of the village and use the very efficient wood burning stove. Fabulous range of top quality places to eat from Michelin starred to small sandwich shops cafes and of course, pasty shops. Coastal walks right from the doorstep. Property is on several levels so if you're not good with stairs you may want to consider another option, but we loved it and thought it added to the character of the place. Private parking space about 100m up a steep hill - but worth it, given there is no parking at all in the village. Would highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are so pleased to hear that Grey Roofs suited your needs and that you enjoyed all that the property has to offer. • "Please can you add some instructions for the hob - the 4 sec hold on the key button was a bit of a barrier to using the hob on day 1."

And maybe some microwave instructions We loved the decking space for breakfast and evening drinks. The place has a lot of love.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed staying at Grey Roofs. We have left a Guest Information folder at the cottage, which among other things, shows where to find instructions for the electrical equipment, however we will look to make them a bit more prominent and ready to access. The property was beautifully presented and in the most amazing location. We walked the 50 or so yards to the waterfront each morning for a swim and enjoyed exploring the independent shops. The house was so much fun and our children (6,5 and 18 months) particularly loved the terrace looking out over the sea. Highly recommended!

  • "Beautiful little holiday home, right in the thick of everything, the property is very well equipped for your stay, there was nothing we didn't have!"

The roof terrace is fabulous, yes the steps are steep and I wod imagine very slippy in wetter weather, would not recommend for little children! The issue with the property is parking, we picked this property because it had parking, it is stated a short walk away, however is up a very steep hill, if you are not very fit you struggle, also its hard to access, people dumped their cars anywhere regardless if it was their spot, noone appeared to lock it either, several times we came back we had no where to park, it spoilt it for us as we always had in the back of our mind when we went out if we wod be able to park on our return.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Grey Roofs, and we hope to welcome you back soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful place."

The location was absolutely perfect, just where I wanted to be about 60 feet from Mrs. Tischels Chemist. Short walking distance to the Golden Lion. It is a lot of stairs but I knew that going in and definitely worth it for the view from the deck. I have been to Port Isaac before and decided to rent a cottage this time to have my own fridge.

Hi Doug, Pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the excellent feedback. The cottage is indeed very near to the harbour, the Golden Lion and a number of other Doc Martin attractions. We have even chatted to Mrs Tishell on her way past the house during filming. You do need to tread carefully on the steps, but the view is worth it and it’s our favourite part of the cottage. Hope to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

Location is fantastic and house was immaculate, the beds comfy and the bedding spotless. John Bray office responded immediately when the sash window got stuck- they came to the house on Sunday, brought a hook and fixed it right away. Obviously the steps could present a problem to some people as will access to the carpark and the size of the car space, this is the only downside but has to be accepted with the fantastic location. Overall, I would recommend and would return but with a smaller car.

Dear Cindy, We were delighted to receive such positive feedback and glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are fortunate to have a parking space nearby, which fits a standard sized family saloon or similar. Indeed, the steps are steep! Thanks for sharing and prompting us to add additional information for guests. Hope to see you again. Property Owner
