"Great stay at Gecko Beach."
Loved the location especially but also the cleanliness, welcome and every facility provided for.
Can't fault the instructions to get there.
Really friendly local shop 1 minute away (pricey of course but we're happy to contribute towards the local economy for the sake of convenience)
Extra interest added because of the owners adventuring past experience- Gecko's abound in the property!)
If there was one negative it would be the (tiny) size of the washbasin in the bathroom - but hey!, it just washed our feet at the same time as washing our hands, a minor issue.

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I know the washbasin in the bathroom is too small - the problem was fitting one in at all to allow space for guests, both large and small to access the shower. I hope that the improved shower experience compensates for the small basin.

"Excellent place to stay if you're a walker, right on the coastal path."
Welcomed with a bottle of wine can some beautiful biscuits. We could have done with an extra blanket but otherwise an extremely comfortable stay. Would visit again.

"Gecko Beach was just what we needed for a relaxing week by the sea and perfectly located for exploring local beaches and some beautiful stretches of the coastal path."
The apartment was thoughtfully setup, with a well-equipped kitchen, new bathroom, a comfy bed and a balcony with views of the sea. We will definitely be recommending this place to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful part of the country!

"The oven wasn’t working so emailed the owner as advised and received a sarcastic reply about using the grill instead, not very helpful."
The heating was not working either none of the radiators ever came on, considering this was the last week of September we expected to have some form of heating. We didn’t bother contacting the owner considering his previous unhelpful reply. This was the third time we had booked this property so we were very disappointed.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that some areas disappointed you. I can assure you that the owner did not mean any disrespect by his comment regarding the grill, and was just trying to offer a quick and easy solution, as the grill is very efficient. With regards to the heating, the settings had been adjusted despite the welcome pack advising against doing so. We suspect they were inadvertently switched off. We do suggest getting in contact regarding issues in properties such as these so they can be addressed at the time. The owner is looking into buying some new heaters, and we hope that you do choose to come for a fourth visit.

The situation was perfect for the beach and the local facilities being literally 2 minutes walk from the beach.

"Lovely village in great setting."
The flat is close to the beach with easy access to the beach and some stunning cliff top walks. The owner provides plenty of local information and recommendations for great days out. With easy access to the A30 this is a great place to Base your visit to the North Cornish coast.

"Fab location!"
Porthtowan is a little gem and Gecko Beach was very well positioned - great to just walk out onto the beach and be so close to wonderful coastal walks! There's all you need in Porthtowan with a few good restaurants (Blue Bar really relaxed and fun) and brilliant village shop. The fish and chip place next to village shop is fantastic!!! (Just be sure to book collection online early). And Porthtowan is a great place from which to explore Cornwall!
The apartment was lovely, very well equipped and comfortable. We appreciated a few treats on arrival!
Only downside for us were the bedroom blinds in the bedroom let too much light in - recommend blackout blinds or thicker curtains.
Overall a fantastic & relaxing holiday, thank you

"We enjoyed our stay at Gecko Beach it was comfortable and had everything we needed."
The owner was friendly and helpful when we met him. It was interesting to watch the surfers and the cliff top walks along the South West Coastal path were brilliant. There were no negatives about the property but we were disappointed to be refused service at the local fish and chip shop on our first night because we had not booked! We would stay at Gecko Beach again.
