  • "The house was warm cosy and extremely well equipped."

Very comfortable beds too. The only down side I would say is that the lobby/area downstairs needs a radiator but everything else was great. I would definitely stay here again.

  • "We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in Newquay."

The property was lovely, home from home. Everything in the property you need. We'll equipped kitchen, lovely clean modern bathrooms, bedding spotless. The only thing we notice, however only outside and moreso when it was warmer was a drain smell, this would be more noticeable if we sat outside. This would no way put me off booking the property again. We met the housekeeper and contacted her a few times nothing was too much trouble. We also met the owner as we were leaving, also a lovely lady interested how our week had been.

  • "Absolutely fantastic 2 week stay."

Home from home. Perfectly situated for travelling out & about within the area. The beach was fabulous only a short walking distance away. Only one downside was a sewage smell. This was everyday on an afternoon after we had been out for the day. Not nice to return to and because of this we could not use the sun loungers on the decking. Upstairs was fine. During the holiday, the owner next door, had the sewage people out. The smell disappeared for a day or so but then came back. Not very good on a hot day!

Thank you for alerting us re smells. All are now dealt with and we hope it did not impact your holiday too much. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage on the whole, generally well maintained and clean."

Only issues were that some of the crockery was old, dirty and could do with replacing. We had the bedroom with the king-size bed which was fine but the other bedroom had a very unpleasant lingering smell however we kept the door shut and fortunately didn't need to use that room. Only other point would be that the TV could do with updating at some point as quite old, fortunately we didn't need the TV as the weather was kind.to us and we were out most of the time.

Thanks for your feedback. We note your comments re crockery and we'll remove some of the older sets. We've also now replaced the TV with a new Samsung 40 inch Smart TV. Smell has also been dealt with by the Estate owner as was traced back to drains. Thanks again for staying with us. Property Owner

  • "Great location to explore the nearby area of Porth and Newquay, property was clean, well presented and well equipped."

The 2nd bedroom (which as a couple we only used to store our bags etc) had a strange odour upon entering it, possibly a drain issue as there was a lot of fragrant diffusers dotted about the property? This didn't detract from our stay which we enjoyed thoroughly, the nearby Lusty Glaze beach (5min walk) is superb and well worth the steps down and back up. All areas of Newquay was easily reached by walking so was nice to not have to rely on the car.

It was also spotless, warm and the housekeeper Stacey very happy to be on call for any queries or issues, making sure we had arrived safely and had everything we needed. The house instruction book was brief and clear, with product instruction booklets for various appliances and did not dictate rules and regulations, another pleasant change. We are certainly looking forward to another visit, in the knowledge that the accommodation and the service will be just as we'd expect it to be! Thank you

  • "Just got back from a lovely week spent at Beachcombers."

When we arrived we found it to be lovely and clean and fresh smelling. The lady looking after the cleaning had even managed to get it ready early for us. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates, glasses, pots, pans, dishes, cups etc. We managed to find everything we needed for our stay, all were lovely and clean. It had a fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, hob, toaster, kettle, washing machine and dishwasher. We made use of everything except the dishwasher as we just preferred to wash up as we do at home. The house itself we found to be very pleasant and cosy. The living room sofas were very comfortable, even more so after a nice long walk along the coastal path cliff tops. Ensuite bathroom with shower and separate bathroom with bath were in excellent order with lots of hot water available for bath or shower use. The shower in the ensuite had great water pressure. We didn't use the second bedroom with the 3 single beds as there was only the two of us. We found the king sized bed although a firmer than we are are used to really comfy and we both had some great nights sleep. We didn't get to sit out on the downstairs decked area or the upstairs one due to the weather not being so great but can see it would have been lovely to have done so with better weather conditions. On a couple of the worst weather days during our stay we made use of watching some of the DVD's or playing the board games available in the home. There were many games and books for youngsters available and also a selection of soft back books for adults if they wanted to read them. Wifi was good and had a stable connection all week. We connected to it fine. It was nice to have an allocated parking space which was just a short distance from the home. It made parking very easy. The surrounding area is beautiful and you are so close to Porth beach, and not far from others. We found it very peaceful there and just far enough away from the busier resort of Newquay. The costal path is on the doorstep and we walked many miles in both directions exploring and taking in the views. We found it easy enough to shop and get groceries for the home, with a Tesco Express about 10 mins walk away. We did pre-book to eat at some of the restaurants at night which is a must at the moment so best to look at where you may want to eat and do that. During the day we found on our walks we could always find somewhere to catch a quick sandwich or pastie for lunch. We didnt starve and got to enjoy many Cornish treats. We made use of the bar at the Glendorgal Hotel which is just a few mins walk from the home, and enjoyed sitting out when the weather was nicer just watching the sea and enjoying it all. All in all we had an excellent time staying at this home, it more than exceeded our expectations and we most certainly will be back in 2022.

Good t, location, weather. Only one minor criticism; there was only a J cloth to wipe up and do the dishes with. It's not easy to clean a dirty pan with a j cloth and they were too big for the dishwasher

  • "The cottage was ok, in a good location."

I thought it has swimming facilities as advertised on different site and found out later that the hotel nearby that used to provide the swimming facilities is now closed. Beautiful walks around this area and you can walk to Newquay so great location yet away from all the noise. The cottage had everything you needed and the cleaning lady was very nice and helpful with all the advice we needed. The bedrooms were large enough. The only comment is that I think it was expensive but I guess in Cornwall everywhere is expensive because of the high demand. I would only go back there if the price was right.

  • "Very comfortable bed, good quality quilt."

Great shower although the extract fan in the ensuite failed to stop lots of condensation forming on the ensuite walls and mirror. They were still dripping wet after 8 hours! This led to a damp feeling throughout the main bedroom. Hot water wasn't always available, several times we couldn't have a hot bath or a shave. There was a leak from the kitchen sink main waste fitting into the cupboard below. This had wet all the items on the cupboard top shelf which we had to clean on arrival. We left a bowl to catch the water during our stay. A couple of days before our departure we started to notice a very strong smell of toilet waste from the main bathroom. Unfortunately as the bathroom window couldn't be left open while we were out this did build up during the day. Overall we still had an enjoyable stay but it could have been better if the aforementioned issues had not occurred. Good points: location, room sizes, kitchen facilities, parking, wifi. Stacey was very helpful and friendly.

  • "The cottage is in a great location making it easy to walk to the town and some of the lovely local beaches."

Unfortunately it wasn’t very well cleaned; I always take cleaning stuff with me as I’m very particular about hygiene but with the pandemic, I assumed there would be a deep clean in between each family visiting. The kitchen had crumbs around the edges/ behind microwave, utensils etc. There were hairs in the drawers in the bedrooms and in the shower room. Whilst I appreciate there is only a certain amount of time to turn properties around, we were advised by the housekeeper that the property has been vacated on the Thursday if we wanted to arrive early so there would have been time to clean it- in light of the current pandemic, I felt I had to thoroughly clean everything before we could unlace and enjoy our holiday. There is also an issue with rubbish disposal- there is nowhere to put recycling or glass bottles for recycling and the bin area says you should take your rubbish to the local tip....hardly what you would expect on a holiday! The house was nice, location made it good, little on the small side for 3 adults and 2 children but would work well for 2 adults and 2 or 3 children.

The kitchen had every utensil and cookware that you would need. There is a large collection of DVDs,perfect to unwind in the evening, also several books and games. The house was clean and modern but homely and the location (literally a couple of minutes from a beautiful secluded part of the beach) was perfect. With 3 children we spent a LOT of time back and forth in the sea - but being so close you could do it without a faff and having to get in a car , just a stroll back if you need anything. Similar was the ease of walking to Newquay itself - perfect if you needed shopping. We found it a great base for visiting further afield and the central location meant it was easy on the occasions we wanted to eat out - there is far too much to list in its favour - but we were over the moon and had genuinely lovely family holiday we shall remember always - thank you!

The property is really central to lots of the main attractions in the area, this is probably the best location we have had since visiting Cornwall on a regular basis. Very well equipped for five people and spotlessly clean when we arrived. Just a couple of minor points: The wardrobe and drawers in the main bedroom smelt very damp and I couldn't put my clothes in them, I think that was due to the on-suite in the room itself. A couple of new frying pans are needed as I couldn't cook eggs without them sticking and breaking.

Lounge area very spacious. Kitchen small but well equipped. Cleaner Stacey was amazing, helpfully sent us a text when we left a pair of PJs behind and house was very clean. A washing line for wetsuits etc outside would be a good addition.

We ( the owners) are delighted Mrs White enjoyed her stay at Beachcombers. However we wonder if the beds seemed small by comparison to the very large 6 ft bed in the double room? The 3 beds are full size 3ft single beds and have been slept in many times by adults with no problem. Property Owner
