  • "Lovely light and airy property; very clean with well-equipped kitchen; I would however, suggest providing a dishcloth in the kitchen to make it easier to clean down surfaces."

The welcome pack was really appreciated and a nice touch. The evenings were a little cool and as we couldn't quite figure out the heating, we would have liked to have lit a fire but there was no kindling and only 4 logs in the basket so we had to abort that idea. Also, the mirror in the first floor bedroom opposite the shower room was too high such that if you sat down at the dressing table to dry your hair you couldn't see in the mirror, The one big downside of this property, which unfortunately reflects in the score, is with regard to the small shower room on the first floor landing - there is a permanent sewage/damp smell coming from this room which was very unpleasant. We didn't want to intrude on the privacy of our friends who were occupying the top floor bedroom with en-suite shower so had to endure a rather unpleasant 5 minute daily shower in this room which wasn't great. I would also suggest ensuring the photos advertising the property are updated i.e., in the photos there is a TV in the first floor bedroom opposite the shower room but there was no TV in the room when we got there which was a little disappointing.

It's location is excellent for the beech and for walking the costal path. We very much hope to visit it again.

It was everything we needed and more. As a family of 5 we had so much space. We especially enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen and dining areas.

  • "A fabulous stay in Upper Deck."

Very spacious, clean, modern and good quality utensils/equipment. Loved the upper room balcony with full screen n most of the day. Porthcurno beach is just 10 mins walk with a licensed Cafe nearby, although open hours are limited. Nearest shop is in Sennen. We will return.

  • "Gorgeous property in a stunning location."

The accommodation is light and spacious and really well equipped. We are return guests to the Upper Deck and love this part of Cornwall. Only negative ( which we mentioned in feedback last year too) was that the gas BBQ was left dirty by previous users and required a good scrub before we could use it. We asked if this could be sorted by the housekeeper but informed she was away and thus not possible. Bit disappointing

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are happy to hear you have returned to enjoy the stunning location. Following your comments we have asked the housekeeping team to make sure the BBQ is thoroughly checked in the future. Property Owner

  • "Cosy family stay at the Upper Deck during a wet and windy Christmas break."

The flat is larger than we'd anticipated, nicely heated, with a well-stocked kitchen and pleasant woodburner. We'd recommend this place without hesitation.

  • "Back this year for our second stay at The Upper Deck and it was excellent again!"

2 shower rooms had been refurbished and decking had been mended this time, but garden furniture is still a bit old and tired and doesn't reflect the inside of the property. Also a issue with dog poo in the garden from next door's dog! Would definitely return again as this is a lovely property in an beautiful location.

We are really sorry to hear this. The best thing to do is put the little gate on the steps to the garden. This should stop the dog from entering and roaming free! Property Owner

  • "The Upper Deck is a beautiful clean, bright and fresh duplex apartment, the kitchen is well equipped (two fridges!"

) and the whole open plan layout worked very well. Loved the terraced garden too. It was really handy having 3 separate bathrooms , and having the washing machine cunningly concealed in a cupboard was brilliant! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ONE tiny point, the taxi number listed is "number unobtainable". We used Logan Rock Cars (based at Treen). We watered and tidied up the plants on the balcony, maybe something other guests might like to take on board? All in all, a great place to stay, so convenient for the bus, the beach and some lovely walks. Definitely a place to return to!

Thank you for your feedback. It was very kind of you to look after the garden! The comment about the taxi company has been duly noted. Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous property in a beautiful part of the world Light and nicely decorated and with really well thought out space."

Loved the master bedroom and en suite with balcony We had a great time on the local beaches and would love to return. Only minor criticism is that several items in kitchen ( baking trays) and the BBQ were left dirty and so needed a good scrub before use.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you had a nice stay and your enjoyed The Upper Deck. Following your comment the owner had a chat with the housekeeping team and in future they will make sure to check the kitchen and the BBQ area more thoroughly to improve the cleanliness. We hope you will visit The Upper Deck again for more lovely holidays. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, very comfortable and remarkably well equipped with everything we could possibly need."

Porthcurno is a delightful place and we loved the museum, the beach, the Minack and the cliff top walk. I was a little concerned when I realised there were no photos of the exterior of the house on the website and was pleasantly surprised when I say how attractive it was including the front drive. My only feedback would be that the curtains in the smaller double don't fully close and it would be nice if there was a blind for the window to the staircase in the master bedroom as the early morning light woke me early.

  • "What an amazing property!"

Everything done to a high standard. Spacious kitchen/diner/lounge with everything you need. Comfortable beds with lovely white bedding. Spotlessly clean. Nice welcome touch of milk in the fridge, local apple juice and very tasty local ginger biscuits. My only comment is that the outside decking is a bit worse for wear and patio furniture is tired, maybe needs replacing to keep in line with the high standards of the inside of the property. Would definitely return.

10min walk to one of the best beaches I have ever been to. Could do with a bar/restaurant in Porthcurno as there is only the beachside cafe at present, which is busy.

  • "We absolutely loved this property."

Fabulous location and only a 10 minute stroll to the beach. It was really well equipped, clean and a bonus of a gas BBQ to use on the decked area. Our only issue was there were no tea bags or logs; the former we had forgotten! We agree with previous comments that blackout blinds would be good in the upstairs room as so bright in the mornings. Directions could be better as when arriving late after a long journey it is hard to find. We would highly recommend this property and place and hope to return. We loved it.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at The Upper Deck. The owners apologies for the lack of tea bags and logs and will be sure they will be present in the property in the future. They are also happy to take in your feedback and are looking into putting some black out curtains in the bedrooms. We hope you will visit The Upper Deck again for more lovely holidays. We found lots to do in the vicinity which meant the car had a rest too! I particularly liked the two fridges and separate freezer. If we were staying longer that would have been very useful. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great relaxing holiday.

  • "The property was fabulous."

Beautifully presented and full of all the little luxury things you have at home: double oven, nice quality kitchenware, beautiful artwork, lovely bedding etc. the neighbours were friendly and helpful and the housekeeper was quick to reply to a text question that I had. All in all it was very welcoming. It isn't very easy to find so make sure you drive slowly into Porthcurno and look carefully on the left hand side until you see the numbers 14/15 carved on the granite blocks of a driveway. This is the shared entrance that serves 16 and 17 as well but you can't see that from this direction!

Best suited for beach-loving couples or a family, this sophisticated property provides sleek and modern accommodation.

The open plan living space is light and airy.

Huge windows which let in all the natural light are bound to impress.

The Upper Deck is set in a brilliant location for enjoying the South West Coastal Path.

Walk over the dark wood flooring and into the open-plan living space, a serene room furnished simply but effectively, starting with the white fitted kitchen, with contrasting granite worktops where the budding chef can impress the rest with some fine home cooking.

Dine at the table for six with a glass of wine and you'll forget that you're not sitting in a trendy minimal restaurant, but in your home for the week!

There is underfloor heating in the main living areas, bathrooms and shower room, and a wood-burning stove faces the sofas and armchair, to create a warm corner perfect for enjoying a film on a colder evening.

The first floor includes two bedrooms; a king-size double and a twin, both in-keeping with the light white theme of the whole property, each complete with neutral carpet, and served by two bathrooms; one is a family bathroom with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and the other is a shower room with basin and WC.

The second floor is home to the outstanding master bedroom, with floor-to-ceiling windows leading onto your own private balcony.

You will want to start your mornings with coffee on the balcony every day!

A vast en-suite bathroom adjoins this room, containing a bath, walk-in shower, basin and WC, perfect for indulging in a long soak after a busy day out.

On a sunny day, head outside to the raised terraced garden over the private bridge, and cook up a storm on the barbecue.

It's easy to see why Porthcurno Beach has won so many awards with its gorgeous soft white sand, turquoise sea and high cliffs offering both sides shelter from the elements, it's a real paradise and is only around a 20-minute walk through a wooded valley from The Upper Deck.

Leave your car in the private parking space and head out on foot.

You'll go past the Telegraph Museum in Porthcurno on your way to the beach, so why not stop off and have a look at this museum which explains the dawn of wireless science in the former global hub of cable communications?

Try your best to catch a performance at The Minack Theatre, famed for being carved into a Cornish cliff-top, it is an open-air theatre showcasing many productions including the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Upper Deck is a property you will travel back to year after year; a tranquil retreat in this beautiful part of the world.
