  • "Lovely holiday cottager in a great location."

    The swimming pool was an added bonus, so very clean. Super comfortable bed and sofa's, great when you have a bad back. It did get a little damp & chilly towards the end of our week so I tried to put a couple of the night storage heaters on. I read the instructions and went on the internet for more info. Perhaps an idiots guide to the one in the main living area for people like me who have never had to use them before?

  • "We have just returned from a weeks stay."

    The cottage is lovely and comfortable, There is plenty of storage for food. The garden is enclosed and made it much easier with the dogs. The cottage is located within easy reach of Bude . The swimming pool is a great asset. We will be coming back to this cottage. We found the staff we encountered very friendly and helpful.

    Nice pub a short walk away loved the steak evening, we booked early so we could be back before dark. Beds made up and towels provided. Didn't get time to use pool....maybe next time.

  • "Needs a new mattress in main bedroom, proper sockets in bedrooms and lounge area NOT EXTENSION CABLES EVERYWHERE As I am sure this is a health and safety issue."

    Needs new shower fittings as they are rusty, problems with hot water, I at to turn the fridge up as not cold enough, mould starting to appear in second bedroom.

  • "The location of the cottage is good to reach points of interest."

    There is no privacy when in the small garden. The cottage needs a complete renovation, it is tired and the cooking equipment, needs replacing. carpets, bedding, in fact all need replacing. The swimming pool was a real selling point, however, it was not supervised and was used as a games room, with ball fights, adults throwing children , we could not swim, tried several times, gave up. The information suggests the pub is walking distance, I do no feel this is so, its a car ride. The cost of the holiday, we expected far more.

    In general the cottage was acceptable the lounge carpet showing signs of wear with pulled threads the sofa had some staining i noted there was not a fire heat detector to the kitchen area and the front and garden doors did not have knobs to ease exit if there was a fire

  • "Campion Cottage was well situated for Bude and the Cornish Coast."

    We had a great week. The cottage was adequately furnished but could have done with a general update such as curtains and general decor - and definitely more crockery to save running the dishwasher daily. The main table was super sticky despite us cleaning it endlessly and we ended up using a beach mat on there. There was no map showing the site or information on good places to go nearby or other guest comments. Other than that served us really well.

  • "Pool was good for swimming but disappointing that you couldn't dive as too shallow."

    Main areas clean but corners and under beds sofas weren't and various items still on surfaces from previous guests. Helpful staff provided new airer quickly when broken one reported. Dishwasher is on its last legs. The complex of cottages could do with more clothes lines for hanging wetsuits etc on.

  • "Little extras make all the difference and finding Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits upon arrival was a great gesture."

    The cottage was perfect, the site facilities everything we needed. The pool was amazing. Myself, husband and the dogs had an amazing week. It would be nice to have seating facilities out front for the evening when the sun moves but this is only a minor suggestion. The condition of the property and location were all we hoped for.

    However our little cottage campion needs a bit of sprucing up.A lick of paint here and there.It also had a damp smell at times and the heating system needs upgrading.

The property

A single-storey end-terrace holiday cottage on the fringes of Bude, with accommodation comprising of a double bedroom and a family bedroom with three single beds.

There is also a pretty living area with fully-fitted kitchen, and outside is a private fenced garden.

You have many shared facilities to make the most of, including an indoor heated swimming pool and a games room with a pool and table tennis table.

Poughill Cottages

Bude 2 miles. This cottage is part of a small development of fourteen holiday homes in an attractive rural setting near the small village of Poughill, just two miles from the resort of Bude in North Cornwall. This cottage near Bude is comfortably furnished and has its own private garden, plus use of the communal grounds, which include a children’s playground and a games room. Set amongst well-kept gardens, courtyards and orchards, and overlooking the lovely Cornish countryside, this group of Bude cottages offers a relaxing holiday complete with shared use of a 40ft indoor heated swimming pool. The local picturesque village of Poughill (which is pronounced “Poffle”) is just a ten minute walk from the cottages; it has won the Best Kept Village award several times and has a number of pretty thatched cottages and a village pub serving delicious food. The dramatic North Cornwall coastline is only two miles away. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
