  • "I think it should be noted that the path to the property is not ideal for people with limited mobility as the path is slippy."

Also there was a lot of dirt between the cushions on the settee

Hi! I’m very sorry that the settee was dirty! This is the first complaint I’ve had as the cleaners usually very good but I let them know. I do feel 50% for cleanliness for 1 area of dirt is rather harsh! Ref the path the pictures clearly show steps up to the property & stepping stones through the garden & I agree it’s not suitable for people with limited mobility. I will have a statement written in for next season. I hope despite these 2 comments you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

Two little niggles, the coffee table need coloured corner protection glued on, & better lighting for the stepping stones, now the nights are getting darker. Otherwise Excellent.

  • "Owner very friendly, lodge very clean."

Great location as we could walk to the beach and 2/3 places to eat. Reliable bus service which saved having to drive to and park at places such as Marazion and Penzance. We hope to return!

  • "It was a lovely lodge just a couple of niggles The glass coffee table could do with corner protectors as we caught our legs several times on them as the glass protruded past the base."

Also the stepping stones to Palm lodge were uneven. Apart from that it was lovely and clean and comfortable with everything you needed.

So sorry about the glass table corners! The corner protectors had been removed by a previous guest & the cleaner had not noticed! Property Owner

Evenings were spent reading and sunning ourselves on the deck, perfect at the end of the day! The location couldn’t have been better for all the things we wanted to see and do, the Minack theatre, St Michael’s Mount, lots of other National Trust properties, wonderful beaches and coastal walks. On arrival we were also pleasantly surprised by the afternoon tea provided for us after our long journey. Excellent!

  • "We had a lovely week at Praa sands despite the weather!"

The cabin was clean and ready for our arrival. The bed was comfy and there was everything we needed including a cream tea and flowers on arrival. The owners were pleasant and chatty. The parking was a bit of a squeeze, particularly as people in another let had a large car, parked in their space alongside ours.. we would recommend this cabin for a couple wanting a quiet break in Cornwall. It was within reach of many sites of interest.

  • "Palm Lodge is in a lovely location and has the potential to be really something."

However, the lodge has now reached the stage of needing some TLC and renovation. It was very damp even when using the dehumidifier provided. The bedroom and bathroom doors were sticking and unable to close properly. Several of the windows were difficult to open and close due to the affects of the skin of the structure being damp. Even our clothes in the bedroom drawers and wardrobe were feeling damp after a couple of days. There was mildew on the shower head and in the grooves of the shower doors and walls. The bathroom is in desperate need of a regular size sink with proper running hot and cold water (no timer tap for cold / no small side boiler for hot - this gave lukewarm water at best and sometimes there was no pressure and nothing came out - not good when you're wanting to wash your hands after having been to the toilet particularly) Fridge needs looking at - didn't feel like it was holding the temperature and we lost freshly bought food and milk within a couple of days. Lounge area ceiling is in need of repair - looked like it had had a previous leak and with the rain we had we were constantly worried that this was going to happen again with a very obvious visible split in the ceiling. Unfortunately we came away feeling very disappointed and that we'd paid way too much.

I am very sorry you were disappointed with your stay! I have had excellent marks by all my previous guests! Maybe the fact you arrived in the rain & had some wet days in your week clouded your judgement! If you felt the unit was damp the use of the dehumidifier & heaters in every room should have dealt with it! You need not have worried about the roof leaking as I had it replaced earlier in the season! The fridge is working 100% it just needed turning up as required! I was always here if needed Property Owner

  • "We stayed at this property for 5 nights and it was a lovely stay, the place is well equipped and has a nice holiday feel to it."

One thing that surprised me was how private it was. We had minimal face to face contact with the owner, but kept in contact by text throughout our stay and he was lovely and very helpful, he even notified us that the cleaner was due a few days after our departure and so allowed us to check out a bit later on the day, allowing the whole morning on the beach! The walk to and from the beach is very manageable, and there's a good amount of shops nearby, there's a handy Co Op just 5 minutes down the road. Everything was just very easy on this holiday, and there was nothing we felt the place was missing. Would definitely recommend and would happily stay there again!

  • "This lodge was one of the most luxurious and well equipped self catering accommodation we've stayed in."

The owners are really friendly and catered for every need, including a very nice welcome basket. There was a top sheet on the bed so we could dispense with the duvet, there were more than the usual number of towels and even flannels provided Although we used our own the kitchen cannisters contained tea, coffee and sugar. It was immaculately clean and as the owners haven't owned it for very long everything was new. It is well situated, just 10 minutes stroll from the beach at Praa Sandsa and very near to many tourist attractions such as Helston and St Michael's Mount. We have already recommended it to friends.

About the location

PRAA SANDS

Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles

The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
