Chalet 3 Wipeout, a pleasing, single-storey chalet is an almost beach-side retreat, paces from the sand dunes and sea at Upton Towan in Hayle, Cornwall.

This Cornish, two-bedroom chalet sleeps up to four guests; for families, couples, and friends seeking adventures close to this glorious coastline.

Step inside your holiday home and discover an open-plan living space with a sofa and armchair for relaxation after a fun day in the sun, along with a Smart TV.

Rustle up a bite to eat in the small, but adequate kitchen and settle down around the dining table for hearty breakfasts together.

The bathroom will set you up for the day after catching your night’s sleep from one of the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, ideal for children and adults, with storage and hanging facilities too.

The private decked area wraps around the front and side of the chalet, creating a lovely space for sunshine coffees and feasts, with a wonderful backdrop of the sun dunes beyond.

Positioned alongside other chalets, the shared lawn areas are a safe space for children to play, nestled under the sand dunes.

Access to beautiful Hayle and The Towan’s Beach is within paces.

This three-mile stretch of golden sands sits at the mouth of the Hayle estuary and makes a great spot for paddles, swims, surfs, and sandcastle escapades.

At low tide, the beach leads to Gwithian Towans Beach, and from there you can walk into Hayle, where superb pubs, restaurants, and cafes will entice you in.

There are lots of supermarkets for stocking up on those provisions too.

Children will enjoy visiting Paradise Park and JungleBarn with rare birds, animals, and miniature railways.

Ramble the coast path set against the ocean backdrop with Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance and spot the seals.

Within a short drive, the Iconic St Ives resort boasts the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Tate Gallery, and independent boutiques to browse along the cobbled charismatic lanes.

Choose from four stunning beaches for a day by the shore and when hunger strikes, an abundance of food options including quayside pasties and cream teas, will ensure you are fed well.

Chalet 3 Wipeout is a superb by-the-beach bolthole, to return to again and again.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
