Area is quiet with long beaches and sand dunes nearby. Plenty of pubs doing food and takeaways in Hayle and a hot shower and comfortable chairs and beds to return to. Outside seating is not overlooked if you wish to stay put. We would be very happy to stay there again.

It's a nice sized cottage. Open-plan downstairs making it very roomy. It's in a nice location too. We really liked the TVs in the bedrooms. All we needed was to buy our own food and hygiene products as everything else (like kitchen utensils) was catered for. Will hopefully return in the future

Would benefit from maybe utilising idle space in dining area so more worktop space could be provided. Also the stairs are quite steep and narrow for an elderly person, which could not be seen from the photos provided in the literature. Other than that, the property is comfortable and very well maintained. The water was always very hot. The property is on a bus route if needed, and there was a local shop and pub nearby.

  • "We had a lovely stay here."

Everything provided for. The only very very small issues, that did not ruin our stay at all, and are very minor, are that the riser for the shower head did not work so the shower head was very low on the riser bar. The washing machine was ver very loud. I’m no expert but I think the bearings may have gone? And some small waste paper bins in the bedrooms and bathroom would be a nice addition, the Hoover didn’t work properly so we couldn’t vacuum, which I felt awful about as I wanted to leave the place as clean as when we arrived. Everything was still excellent though. It was thoughtful to provide milk, tea, coffee and sugar, plus the biscuits left for us. Location was great for exploring the areas surrounding.

Hello, Thanks for your positive feedback, I'm pleased that you had a nice stay. I've fitted a new shower riser and the vacuum is now working ok. The washing machine is a little noisy, but it is in working order. Best Regards Property Owner

  • "A fabulous location, close to Gwithian Towans and convenient for touring the far west of Cornwall - both north and south coasts."

The sitting room, bedrooms and bathroom are all very comfortable and well equipped. Smart TVs are great and WiFi reliable. The local pub is excellent and very welcoming of dogs (even in the restaurant). If you want to self cater, the kitchen is tiny with very little work surface space and no dishwasher - personally, I would rather have a dishwasher than a washing machine. (The large dining area would have made a fabulous kitchen diner, with the current kitchen perfect for a utility/boot room.) Although dog-friendly, there is no outdoor tap, nowhere to dry wet walking gear and no way of keeping wet dogs out of the living areas. Stairs are fairly steep and narrow. Overall, we had a good stay.

perfectly safe garden for our Dog. Amazing throws for the settee , they are lovely . Parking was easy on the road outside cottage . The cottage is probably more suited to 2 Adults 2 Children due to size of single beds in smaller bedrooms . We were a party of 4 Adults . We loved our Weekend here , and would book again for a short stay .

  • "We have been traveling to Cornwall for over 30 years, and we are delighted to say that Nappers Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in, it is absolutely beautiful throughout."

It is so comfortable to return back to in the evenings in order to relax and unwind after a busy day out sight seeing. The lounge and dinning rooms are very large/spacious, and even though there was only myself and my husband staying with out little dogs, there would be plenty of room for a full family to enjoy without living on top of each other. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have seen, with an extensive range of pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc, there is a large fridge freezer for all your provisions, and an extensive selection of dogs bowls etc, Steve has organised everything beautifully and though of everything that you might need. The bedrooms are spacious, with lovely bedding, and the beds are so comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is very large with an amazing large bath tub, and large separate shower cubicle. There is a large front garden which is shingled, and a patio back garden with tables and chairs. There is also plenty of parking outside on the roads, which were quiet for the majority of the time, with only the occasional car passing, so a very quiet location. Steve the owner was so helpful and always on hand if we needed anything, very easy and quick to contact/respond if required. We would not hesitate to return again, and or recommend to family and friends, what an absolutely lovely stay at Nappers cottage.

The cottage is spacious and modern and beautifully decorated. The host even provided washing capsules ,liquid ,handwash and toilet rolls .. tea coffe milk and even Cornish crackers ! which was a godsend after a long drive so we didn't have to rush to the shops . The beds are comfy and we slept really well . Lovely hot shower and a bath if you need a soak ! The kitchen is well equipped for everything you need . We caught the bus to st Ives just at the top of the road and was only £10 for a roaming family day ticket. We did walk to the beach too - across the nature reserve which was lovely . The cottage is ideally situated to explore that end of Cornwall - we only had @30 min drive either way to porthcurno and kynance . Parking outside the cottage wasn't an issue either . Thank you for an amazing week - can't recommend nappers cottage enough ! :)

  • "Lovely well equipped little cottage."

Interior decor and furnishings very good and cottage very clean on arrival.Comprehensive 'info' folder. Many electrical sockets and countless rows of hanging hooks which were v useful! Has two of the largest throws I think I have ever seen! Beds comfortable but all on the smaller side - the largest is a 4'6". We were a couple so one of us slept in a single as 4'6" double is too small for us. Drawbacks? No dishwasher (the kitchen is tiny). Three times we could not park outside but there was parking relatively closeby. Check out time too early at 9ish but they are not alone in this.. Would we stay again? Yes. It's in a great location and pretty quiet and dog friendly.

  • "We knew what to expect as this was our 2nd visit to Nappers - the first stay being just 6 months previously."

We like the location and the comfortable accommodation suits us perfectly. Nappers makes a perfect base to explore the southern part of the County and is but a short walk to the nearest shop and pub. The spacious lounge area offers a very comfortable space to unwind after an energetic day and the large table allows the family to sit together for meals. Within a short car ride, various other pubs (in addition to the local) offer good meals for those preferring to eat out. The next time we visit the area, we will start our accommodation search at Nappers.

  • "Modern, clean, tidy house in a great location."

We loved the open space downstairs and the tvs in every bedroom was a real treat! The bathroom is spacious and modern- ideal for a family. Outside space wasnt so great - not really kids or dog friendly but we overcame this by walking the pooch up bridleway nearly opposite the cottage instead of letting him run in the garden and excercised the kids down the beach! Added bonus always a carparking space right outside the house. We especially thought the Information booklet detailing all the local shops, pubs, walks - well just about everything was really helpful - thank you. Little extras would be a bin in the bathroom and an indoor drying rack please! The washing machine is very noisy - so dont put it on at night! All in all a lovely stay.

  • "Firstly there is not a "lush green Lawn" - it's gravel."

There was dogs mess on the gravel. Generally there is a lack of storage, hooks etc. especially in the small single bedrooms. Also, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom. There was no facility for recycling. Most importantly though is the level of cleanliness which is not up to the standard one would expect - lots of dog hairs, lots of dust behind furniture, toe nail clippings under bed, grubby carpets. It needs a deep clean! However this is a nice property in a great location, and it wouldn't take much to rectify these faults. We have run our own B&B in the past and know how important cleanliness is to guests

I was disappointed to hear that the cottage did not meet the guests expectations, however I thank them for their comments. Yes, the lawn has very recently been replaced by gravel , its golden gravel and looks very presentable, much better than the lawn, new photographs have been taken and the description has now been changed, I have also put a storage unit in the bathroom and added some additional coat hooks. I do state in my welcome pack that there is no recycling service at the cottage, all waste is classed as general and is removed free of charge. Regarding the cleaning, I do use a professional cleaning company, the house keeper was changed in July and since then I have been visiting the cottage regularly to assess the cleaning, I will continue to do this as cleaning is very important. I've found over all the cleaning is being done to a very good standard, I've personally not seen any evidence of dog hairs or dust behind furniture, but I have passed this the guests feedback to the cleaner and will continue to monitor it. • "We felt the cottage was over priced for the facilities on offer."

There was a big problem with cleanliness, you don’t expect to arrive at your cottage and have to have a thorough clean of the whole cottage and change bedding etc. The location was excellent but unfortunately in my opinion this cottage is not worth the high rental price being charged!

I take all customers feedback very seriously and was disappointed when the Fords contacted me on their arrival to say they were not happy with the cleaning, I immediately offered to get the cleaner back in first thing the next day but they declined the offer.I use a professional cleaning company recommended by Sykes and up to this point they have been very good. After discussing the situation with the cleaning company the outcome was that the housekeeper / cleaned has now been changed, I have been to the cottage after she has cleaned and can confirm the standard is excellent. Regarding the other scores given, from my findings there is no justification for these low scores, accuracy of listing, I've reviewed this and the cottage is exactly as listed, comfort and facilities, where guests have commented previously I have added the items requested for example, cafetiere, egg cups, iron and Ironing board where all added following previous feedback, but in this case low scores were given without any explanation., regarding these points, almost all of my previous feedback score these sections very highly. I'd like to assure everyone that I take all comments seriously and endeavour to give the best service possible. Cottage Owner Property Owner

The only very small issue was that the bed in the main bedroom was extremely small. We are 5ft 9 and 5ft 7, and both a fairly slim 10 stone, so we are not especially big people. Luckily there were other beds that we could use, so after the first night, we slept separately. This wasn't a huge issue for us but it might be for some couples. Despite this we would definitely feel happy to stay here again and we had a fantastic holiday.
