Safe access to the beach through the camp site next door. House was clean and comfortable.

  • "The Beach Halt was a lovely place to stay with friends and family."

It was very clean and very well presented. The kitchen / lounge is spacious and easily accommodated 7 adults .. the garden caught the late afternoon sun so was lovely end to the day . What it did lack, and why we gave it a 4* there was insufficient hanging space for clothes, not all bedrooms had mirrors and there is a shortage of wine glasses. Whilst these are small points they do affect your time there. The location is lovely and a short but hard 15 min walk from the town and beach. We cut through the caravan park field which was just down the lane .. they had happy hour on our return from the beach so was a much needed resting point and treat!!

  • "This is a nice house and we had a great holiday but it needs some tweaks/improvements."

The crockery/cutlery needs replacing- we had 6 cups and only 2 teaspoons. This isn’t enough in a house for 10 people. The listing mentions a BBQ which there was no sign of. It also says there is a log cabin- which is a shed which was locked. There is only one small wardrobe in one of the bedrooms- no wardrobes at all in any of the other rooms so consider this when you’re doing your packing! There is an iron but only a tiny ironing board. The cleaner showed up at 9.40am on check out day- check out is 10am so I don’t think coming early is acceptable. We did have a great holiday and the house is walking distance into Perranporth (if you go through the camp site next to the house) so a very convenient location. We were given great instructions to get to the house and the bushes leading up to the house were trimmed whilst we were there making the drive a lot easier. Prior to this it was very overgrown and was scratching the cars.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at The Beach Halt - the perfect house for a family holiday - the welcome gift was a lovely surprise and the toys, games and DVD’s were much appreciated by our 4 year old grandson!"

Being only a stones throw away from Perranporth it was the ideal location. We loved it - highly recommend it.

  • "We loved the house, it is spacious, modern, spotlessly clean, well maintained and well equipped."

Perfect for our large family group. The twin bedroom in the roof is huge and has some toys which is a lovely touch. Walking distance to the high street and the incredible beach. I highly recommend this property. Thank you for making our holiday special. Looking forward to coming back soon.

  • "The property was almost perfect, lots of items for the kids to play with."

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed. The access road to the house was at times dangerous, cars coming down the hill were coming too fast. There was also no blind on the velux window on the top floor, with no means of keeping iit opening as it was roasting up there. We had a great time, apart from that, a fabulous family get away!

  • "A lovely house in a little lane backing onto a family campsite."

The house was pretty well equipped with lovely towels and bed linen and most kitchen things we needed (no oven gloves or scales unfortunately). A BBQ was advertised and as good weather was forecast (and delivered) we had planned to use it but unfortunately it was out of use and not replaced whilst we were there. However we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Layout was great for us (2 families and a grandparent). Some nice touches included beach toys, a lovely welcome pack and The owner messaged me directly before the holiday which was a lovely touch. I would recommend, thank you

It exceeded our expectations, house was pristine. The walk to town was not easy with a pushchair, that was the only downside and nothing to do with the house at all! Thank you so much! Really enjoyed our stay!

A great location and loads of room for two families. If we had two wishes we would have loved more hanging wardrobe space and some blackout velux blinds would really help the children sleep on those light summer evenings!

  • "Fabulous, large house."

Well equipped and clean. Only a couple of negatives to feedback. The walk from The Beach Halt to Perranporth is longer than 10 minutes with small children and a buggy, some of which was along a busy road. The desk/chair on the 3rd floor is sitting against a bannister. Within a few minutes of arrival we found our 22 months old child climbing on to the desk from the chair (there is then space to plummet to the ground floor). We immediately moved the desk back and put the chair elsewhere. A recipe for disaster! Please move permanently!! Otherwise a great holiday had by all.

  • "The Beach Halt is a newly finished property and therefore has a fantastic standard of décor and usability."

We stayed as a large group of 3 families including 5 children under 4 and the space and location could not have been better, we therefore had many highlights of our stay there. The ability to all sit comfortably in a clean and child friendly living area, have ample sleeping space and be able to walk to the beach with all the buggies made it a very convenient place to stay. The standard of décor made it a very comfortable place to stay and the owners really had thought of everything with additional items being provided for your use: we used the Bluetooth speaker, had a bbq one night and the box of toys for the kids was a great touch. Perranporth itself provides some lovely days out at the beach at the local cafes/restaurants which are all easily accessible via a buggy friendly 15 minute walk. Further afield we enjoyed days out at the National Maritime Museum - Falmouth, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, The Eden Project, Healeys Cyder Farm and the Seal Sanctuary all of which are within a 40-50 minute drive making the property a great base to explore some of the many attractions Cornwall has to offer. Thank you once again to the owners for providing this wonderful property, we certainly wouldn't hesitate to return!

Airy, tasteful decor. Large living area with fold back doors to the patio and perfect sided garden for our grandchildren to run around. Beds were super comfy with high thread count linen and fluffy white towels in the bathrooms. Everything was of a high finish with added touches of a great games cupboard for the children and the adults and a lovely welcome pack of food goodies which was greatly appreciated. Great communication from the owner who even texted us during our journey to say that the house was ready earlier for our arrival. Just would have loved a guest book to write in to pass on our thanks! Cannot recommend highly enough.

About the location

PERRANPORTH

Newquay 9 miles; Truro 9.5 miles.

Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, lies in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers plenty of traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a wonderful coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The local Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the fascinating history of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay, and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. A perfect holiday base in Cornwall, with an abundance of activities to suit everyone.
