• "Nice place and plenty of room, the garden is great for dogs and secure."

  after a 6 hour drive it would have been nice to find at least some tea bags and milk. i see this has been said before by other people. also would have been nice to have toilet paper in each of the bathrooms. seems a bit tight not to provide these two things. i extended my stay nonetheless as it is comfortable and well placed.

• "We enjoyed our stay but would point out that the hob was tricky to use and a bit temperamental."

  Also the dinner plates and crockery were worn and need replacing. The dryer was also very poor, the condenser dryer takes hours to dry any washing. A normal tumble dryer would be much better.

• "Spacious, bright and airy all as described."

  Very comfortable beds and a secure garden for our dog. Would definitely recommemd and we hope to return next year. Only criticism was no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk!

• "Great location and suited our needs perfectly."

  Good enclosed garden and barbecue. The negatives were the sofa covers were badly stained and need replacing. Poor shower in shower room, very little pressure. Disappointed with John Bray who took 5 days to get back to me when I asked if we could stay an extra day. There seems virtually no way of getting someone on the phone.

• "Lovely property, being suitable for families very disappointed there was no cot bed and high chair on request especially as there were baby cutlery and plates."

  This would definitely stop us returning in the future. Floors were not clean when we arrived, my feet were black from walking on the floor within minutes!! Apart from this the overall place was really nice, just think these couple of things need addressing.

• "Overall we enjoyed our stay."

  However, we did leave it cleaner than when we arrived! Settees rather shabby compared to last year. We were disappointed that the food Items that were provided the previous year were not supplied this year. Whilst, the items are, no doubt charged in the overall bill, and may not be to everyone's taste. You may have thought it better not to provide them, however it would have been helpful to add this information to the details about the property. Because we did not want to overload the fridge, the first thing we had to do on arrival was go out and buy milk in order to make tea/coffee after our 200 mile trip!.

• "Fantastic property."

  Very spacious and very comfortable beds. We were here for a week for a family wedding. The Pityme Inn pub across the road was also great. Lovely food and service. All round a great stay. Thank you.

• "A really lovely bungalow."

  Great location! The toys and bits for the children were an absolute bonus and provided lots of fun (as they weren’t their own!). Linen was soft and comfortable as were all furnishings. Won’t hesitate to book again, we had a wonderful break. If I really had to find a concern, cooking pan lid and handles get extremely hot and could be a worth an update and a deeper floor clean as black dog hairs kept appearing. I’m not fussed on either really but worth noting. Thanks for a lovely stay.

• "Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at Obo’s retreat."

  The house was perfectly kitted out for families with young kids. There was such a great range of board games which keep us entertained on the odd rainy day.

• "Bungalow lovely and very clean."

  Couldn’t find the walk in electric shower switch on are a couple of days. Looks like it was purposely hidden as when we did find it shower thermostat obviously broken. Scorch hit or freezing cold. Very dangerous. This was brought up in the Summer in quotes from other guests. Clearly the issue has not been fixed. Other than this we had a lovely stay.

• "Not enough pans and cookery equipment for a family holiday, it was a struggle for just two people."

  The property was clean and functional Oh and it's a semi detached, I don't recall seeing that anywhere in the description!

• "This semi-detached bungalow was ideally situated for exploring North Cornwall."

  Being opposite the Pityme Inn was a great advantage. The back grass could have done with a cut as it was really too long to eat out. Otherwise it had very comfortable beds with an excellent kitchen.

• "The shower in the separate shower room was quite low pressure and there was a broadband issue but it was sorted quickly with the local office, they were very helpful."

• "Enjoyable stay in a nicely decorated and clean bungalow."

  The walk in shower had a fault with temp gauge. Reported it as it would be dangerous and could scald someone. Front door sticks & is hard to shut. I see a previous guest had reported it so would have expected it to be fixed. As previous reviews had stated they received a welcome pack so I didn't take tea, coffee etc. Anyway we didn't receive one. Luckily shop across road was open.

• "Lovely comfortable bungalow with a welcome bag of goodies."

  We were two families of 5 and there was plenty of room. The bedrooms had comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with an additional toilet in the utility room. Games and toys for children, the pub across the road which also had the village shop. Found a lane across from the pub to walk the dogs in the mornings. The grass needed cutting but the gardeners came on the Tuesday. Bit confused regarding the wheelie bins but put them out on the Wednesday evening and were emptied before we left but not by the normal dustmen but contractors for holiday lets. It said no glass in the bins but they gave us a bag to put our bottles in and took them. I would highly recommend this bungalow

• "Very nice accommodation very clean inside could do with some cleaning outside and grass cutting."

• "We ( four German Ladies) had a lovely stay !"

  Besides the Cornish weather nearly everything was perfect! Very well equipped kitchen, a very spacious and bright dining room and living room! Comfortable bedding and two huge bath/ shower rooms! Separate laundry and drying room, perfect for a family stay! We only missed a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms, a full size mirror and the dining table chairs aren’t much comfortable! But this didn’t spoil our holidays ! We had a great time at Obo‘s Retreat ! Spacious private parking….and the Pityme Pub is just across the street offering great food and drinks!

• "Obo's Retreat is a home away from home, A perfect base from which to roam."

  Close to many beautiful places you'll want to explore, Polzeath, Rock, Padstow and so many more. After a day in the surf we couldn't wait to get back, To lovely hot showers, cosy beds, ready to hit the sack. If you are a chef at heart the kitchen has all you will need, Many hungry mouths you will be able to feed. If a take away or eating out is what you are after, There is a pub across the road filled with ale, good food and laughter. And when you are tired and weary from the Cornish sea air, The comfy sofas are ready so a film you can share. Obo's Retreat is a perfect place for a holiday together, Thanks for the memories, we'll treasure them forever.
