  • "This is our third visit to the cottage."

We love the space, the beautiful gardens and the tranquility! It’s a real escape. There are just a few small tweaks that would make it perfect. In the twin room next to the shower room there are two built in wardrobes both locked! . My elderly parents who stay in this room do not have anywhere to hang their clothes. It might seem a small thing but it’s basic requirement and a quick fix. Also the lighting in the shower room is very poor. No door mat either to wipe shoes so grass etc. brought into that side of the house. Both outside lights not working and some of the bulbs inside the cottage. These should be checked by cleaners/John Bray each time the house is cleaned. But it’s a beautiful place overall.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. All suggestions/comments can be viewed by the property owner so these are appreciated. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Positives, the cottage is located in a peaceful village, close enough to explore local popular towns, Port Issac, Polzeath, Padstow, Wadebridge, and an hour drive to St Michael’s Mount."

The table tennis table and table football a bonus addition for all ages. Negatives, general cleanness could be improved. On arrival we had to clean the kitchen, as it was smelly, work tops, handles dirty, dusty. The fridge is old and a little smelly. A welcome pack would have been appreciated, this was the first holiday property in over 10 years we’ve stayed in that a welcome pack hasn’t been provided.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the issues with the kitchen cleanliness, these have been reported back to our housekeeping team. As self catering holidays, welcome packs are down to owner discretion. We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "V much recommend."

Warm & cosy. Large space with 1 twin bedroom & bathroom at one end of property, & 2 bedrooms & bathroom the other side, so felt roomy & not on top if each other. Ping pong & football great additions too. Didn't want to leave. Only feedback would be that the plates & bowls were old & mismatched & need to be replaced (so cheap from Ikea!) to match the standard of the rest of the property. Thanks for a great stay!

  • "In a lovely position and village ."

Very natural peaceful garden , The post code given was for property in Polzeath not Trelights .this should be rectified . On approaching the front door we were disappointed that the front door and all of the windows were very dirty , entering the property a musty smell inside the front door and downstairs especially which was there all week . However the inside of property was very clean , freshly decorated , and nicely furnished . We did enjoy our stay at Orchard cottage.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. • "The property was fantastic, very spacious, and everything that you would need for a great base to enjoy this wonderful part of the country."

The gardens are really lovely, and bigger than they appeared in the details with a good variety of wildlife that visited. It’s a really peaceful location. Having the benefit of the tv with Netflix etc and the games area were perfect for the odd time when the rain appeared which thankfully wasn’t often. We would definitely book again and can’t wait to come back and visit the area again.

  • "This is such a beautiful and spacious property."

It was bigger than we were expecting and was perfect with children and a grandparent! We had a wonderful week and loved the beautiful secluded garden too. The garden space isn’t really explained in the online information so was a great surprise that it was so big! The only thing we’d suggest improving are the directions to the cottage; they didn’t match the description we were given and we got quite lost trying to find it initially. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

  • "Fabulous cottage, photographs do not do it justice."

Exceptionally clean, all linens/towels high quality, kitchen very well equipped, lounge huge - we were only there as a couple but there is loads of room for two families. The cottage is in a lovely secluded area/hamlet surrounded by fields with only occasional cows coming to graze! Well maintained garden with lovely flowers/shrubs - all in all very relaxing to sit outside in the sun! Would like to suggest a larger double bed in the main bedroom as we found the bed quite small. We had a great stay and would not hesitate in recommending Orchard Cottage as a holiday destination - hope to return in the future!

  • "Really lovely and spacious cottage for 6 people."

We didn't spend that much time at the house but there were great facilities (table tennis, table football etc) for when we did. The ten minute drive from Polzeath beach is absolutely fine. Would 100% recommend. The only negative thing I can think of was the shower in one of the bathrooms isn't properly suspended on the wall, just connected to the tap which was fine for me but a bit of a struggle for my two 6"4 mates! That's very much nitpicking though. Lovely stay, 10/10!

  • "Nice cottage, nice location, comfortable."

Lots of hot water and lovely fresh bedding and towels. We rented another cottage in Bude prior to our stay and had a lovely welcome pack and it smelt amazing, lots of local information. On arrival sadly the cottage smelt overwhelming of fish on arrival, it took 3 days for it to smell less fishy, whilst I appreciate you can’t help what a previous person may cook, there could have been an attempt to freshen it up a little. The toaster was still covered in bread crumbs on arrival and only works once before having to be cooled down to use again, not ideal with a family of four. A little more effort would bring this cottage up to a higher standard.
