  • "Trevian is a lovely welcoming home from home."

There were just a few very minor things, which didn't detract from the stay, but would have made it 5*. There were soooooo many cobwebs We live in a 500 year old farmhouse, so we are used to them, but in the bedrooms and particularly the main bedroom, the cobwebs hanging down from the pictures and in the corners were huge. The same in the kitchen, under the plate rack. Just generally it all looked like the house could do with a good dust and vacuum (I did vacuum the cobwebs in the bedroom as they were hanging over the bed!) also the fridge drainage hole was blocked and froze all our food - my husband cleared it and it was then OK. Finally, the kitchen knives could do with a sharpen. So as you see, absolutely nothing major, it is a lovely house and we would love to stay there again. Just hope that the Charlotte's Web theme is less apparent next time. :-)

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. All suggestions/comments are appreciated, we will look into these. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "A well equipped and spacious house in a great location walking distance to the beach, shops and pub."

And central location for sightseeing further afield. Comfortable beds and friendly atmosphere. As dogs are restricted to the ground floor (not mentioned in the property details) it would be nice to have a tv in the conservatory. Side gate is too low to be safe for a dog friendly property as easily jumped over. Looked clean overall, but had sweet wrappers in the log basket, and when I wiped the mantle piece in the front bedroom it was black. Toilet did not look as though it had been cleaned on arrival and the floor in there was dirty. I’m not sure when the dog beds ( nice to be supplied although we used are own) were last cleaned. The cutlery drawers in the free standing unit were extremely stiff. Overall a great holiday property. Maybe if more cleaning materials were supplied the cleanliness would be higher. We would return but only if dogs were allowed upstairs

  • "Loved the property , so very well decorated, spacious & equipped…."

. also lovely & dog friendly with the beautiful enclosed rear garden . Thank you for the lovely Cornish welcome pack , much appreciated . I will be back ! If i could change anything here it would be to have more private side gates to 6ft at the side instead of the small ones on site as if a dog did get out that road can get very busy .

We all had a super time. The house has everything you need and the garden was fantastic for the dogs, enclosed and very safe. Utility room very handy for the surfers and wet dog walks.

  • "The worst holiday I have ever experienced."

EVER. A filthy disgustingly dirty home. It required 3 cleans to get all the dog hair out the sofas and carpets and dust I could write in. All the rugs and sofa covers in the house need a good wash. Oily cupboards full of owners food and nowhere to put our food. Owners belongings jammed in cupboards. Filthy utility room not been cleaned forever. Had to clear a weeks worth of dog faeces from garden on arrival. No heating or hot water on last day. I spent the holiday arguing with the agent to get relocated or refunded. The agents were not very accommodating at all and I had to fight for my rights most of the holiday. A very stressful and awful time. I won’t be returning and I warn others who stay here or use John Bray agents as their managing agents or for their bookings. It all could have been so quickly and easly resolved but unfortunately the staff are not trained to handle things when they mess up.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. We apologise for the negative impact that the above points have had on your holiday. Your refund has been issued and your feedback has been raised to our housekeeping team and senior management. We are sorry that the property was not up to our usual standard, this has been reflected in your refund and care taken by us to try and rectify these issues to the best of our ability, following company policies. Garden fully enclosed and very spacious. Rooms were comfy and clean. The welcome pack of biscuits, tea and coffee etc was incredibly welcome after a long journey too. We would definitely look to come to this house again. Enjoyed it immensely and location great for local shops and walk to beach too.

  • "This is our fourth time staying at Trevian."

The location is perfect and the garden is great for the dog and the kids. The price has increased quite significantly from when we last stayed in 2020 but we don’t feel that has been reflected in the maintenance of the property. Unfortunately the house now feels a little run down. It hasn’t been re-decorated since we stayed the first time and we feel many areas both inside and out need repainting and a really deep clean.

Thanks so much for your honest feedback on your stay. We just wanted to update you that the house was scheduled for redecoration but got hampered by Covid delays. It was recently repainted and we are very pleased with how it now looks . Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable week and took great advantage of the glorious weather."

We followed a number of the walks you sent us just prior to our stay - they reminded us of some known favourites and suggested some new ones thank you. With regards to food places we ate in the Fish Kitchen Nathan Outlaws in Port Isaac. We even saw the lobsters arriving off the boat! A bit further afield we spent a lovely sunny afternoon at Sams on the Beach in Polkerris. Having spent a couple of hours walking the Hill Walk from Fowey it was a lovely spot to eat some seafood and enjoy a very quiet bay. Parking is at the top of the hill and the village is almost traffic free. Fingers crossed the house is up for relet next year and the dates match our half term.

The property

Trevian is an attractive holiday home located in the heart of Rock, Cornwall, just a short walk from the excellent shops and services of the village and a quick journey to the beautiful, local beaches.

The property has a charming, open-plan kitchen/diner leading into a conservatory; this lovely, light sitting room looks out onto a large level lawn, perfect for garden games, whilst a generous driveway rests to the front, with plenty of space for vehicles and boat trailers.

Ideally suited to families, Trevian sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, one of which is a bunk room, ideal for children.

The country-style kitchen is very attractive and well-equipped; a lovely space to whip up some scones for a Cornish cream tea or a simple lunch with fresh fish from the fishmongers nearby; a utility room and shower room are accessed externally; so useful for rinsing off the salt after a dip in the sea and the ideal place to leave wetsuits to dry.

Perfectly positioned to take advantage of all the attractions of North Cornwall, a holiday here in Rock ticks the boxes for all the family.

Follow the footpath nearby to enjoy a beautiful stroll across the fields down to Porthilly cove and to Rock beach beyond.

Sailors, water-skiers and paddleboarders will be kept busy exploring the Camel Estuary; equipment and lessons can be booked at Rock waterfront.

Keen and budding surfers should head to Polzeath beach to immerse themselves in surfing vibes and the white waters of this popular beach resort; afterwards satisfy hunger pangs at one of the many great cafes and restaurants; try Masterchef winner James Nathan at the St Enodoc Hotel; visit Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac or, of course, Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant or Bistro just across the estuary in Padstow.

Experience a Cornish escape at Trevian.
