  • "Lovely property but didn’t realise how busy road outside was and you walk straight out onto the road was a bit scary at times with the dogs."

The back garden wasn’t safe for our boys as they are medium sized dogs would be fine for smaller dogs. The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated throughout although as an older couple we struggled with the low couch and chair. It was lovely to have a bottle of Prosecco in fridge and sone Cornish biscuits plus some treats for the dogs and siting for us.

  • "We have really enjoyed the stay at Dragonfly Cottage."

I stayed with my two daughters and my dog at the end of August. The cottage is beautiful a really lovely holiday home. Very clean and very nice decor. We loved the music features. The back garden was really nice for relaxing with a drink in the summer evenings. Rebecca contacted me on the first day via text to let me know to contact her if we had any problems. We didn’t have any problems but it was nice of her to contact us and be available if we did need anything. St Stephens is a good base for exploring Cornwall, during our 5 nights stay we visited Par Sands, Charles Town, Gorran Haven, Falmouth, Marazion, Penzance, Mousehole, Lands End, Mevagissy and the Clay Trails at Wheel Martyn. We found we did need to drive to take the dog for a run or long walk as the footpaths I explored around the village were not always accessible with a dog due to obstructions, closures or cattle. There is a recreational ground and some shorter accessible footpaths in the village for little walks. It is only a short car ride to access the coastal path or the clay trails for some lovely scenic longer distance trails. We enjoyed spending time on dog friendly beaches at Par Sands, Gorran Haven and Vault Beach. At Gorran Haven we discovered there are actually two small beaches. The first is obvious to access at the bottom of the village and can get very busy, the second is hidden away behind rocks, you can access this beach if you follow the road past the church. There are steep steps down to the beach so it might not be accessible for everyone, but lovely and peaceful if you are able to venture down to explore. On our way home we visited national trust property Lanhydrock for the Park Run its about 20mins drive from St Stephens the grounds and the house are stunning, another great place to explore with children and dogs. There was also a really good car boot sale next there on the Saturday morning.

It was very well equipped and so clean. Lots of amenities close by, we had dinner in the pub on our first evening, the food was lovely and the pub was dog friendly. We would book again when visiting Cornwall for a break away.

A beautiful cottage well equipped and a lovely comfy bed ,central to Newquay and St Austell and all the main roads Launderette next door, co-op 50 yards away, Chinese opposite, pub and fish & chip &cafe all in walking distance , parking in a free car park opposite or the adjacent field Only downfall is stepping out on to a busy road especially with young children

  • "Absolutely brilliant accommodation that I highly recommend!"

I have family in Newquay and wanted somewhere rural and peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of Newquay but still close enough to visit family while we were on our trip down to see Cornwall. The house is beautifully decorated and with a modern kitchen and bathroom and lots of character. Rebecca was amazing with the enquiry we had and was very helpful, she even left dog treats for our little Pomeranian dog.

Dragonfly Cottage is nestled in the countryside between Cornwall’s north and south coasts, in the heart of the traditional Cornish village of St Stephen.

Offering a wealth of original features and a history dating back to Victorian times, Dragonfly Cottage has been lovingly-restored to accommodate four guests and three well-behaved pets for a memorable, self-catered getaway.

Step into your new home-from-home to be instantly impressed by the fully-equipped kitchen, boasting all the necessary appliances required to rustle up delicious meals for the whole family, before settling down at the dining table to tuck in.

If you prefer to dine alfresco, head outside to the enclosed rear garden which offers a picturesque spot to relax with a good book and cup of tea.

When day rolls into night, retreat back inside to curl up in the sitting room, clicking on the TV to catch up on your favourite shows or watch a movie, before washing away the day in the sleek ground-floor bathroom.

On the first floor, two well-presented bedrooms await, comprising a super-king-size (zip/link) and a single with trundle bed, ideal for familial groups and with plenty of storage to house your personal belongings.

In the morning, explore your closest amenities including a handy shop where you can stock up on the essentials and a pub, ideal for a lunchtime drink or some tasty food.

Its beautiful church was dedicated to Saint Stephen by the Bishop of Exeter in 1261 and was restored during the 1890s, so the village offers rich history for all to enjoy.

Here you can also take advantage of a social club, a co-operative and post office, Nisa mini-market, laundrette and a chemist housed in the unique setting of the old Methodist chapel!

For those looking to enjoy some sport, the sports pavilion also resides close by, in addition to a playground where your little ones can let off some steam!

Spend the day in St Austell, home to the incredible Eden Project; here you can also take a stroll through the Lost Gardens of Heligan, explore the fishing village of Mevagissey and sample local food at the farmers’ market.

Why not take a drive to the popular resort of Newquay, known for its golden sandy beaches and captivating nightlife?

Or visit the cathedral city of Truro, home to a range of independent shops and restaurants, including the famous Hall for Cornwall theatre.

With plenty of picturesque countryside and many beaches also within driving distance, there is plenty to see and do here.
