  • "We thought the house was in a fantastic position , well maintained and all kitchen equipment provided was well thought out ."

Couldn’t have wished for more . The games room ,although a great place to hang out , now needs some attention . Darts were broken , and different games are incomplete . There were 10 people in our group and we had a couple of movie nights it would have been nice to have a couple more comfy chairs in the upstairs lounge as some of us had to sit on the floor . Overall a beautiful house to stay in and we would love to have a return visit . Thank you .

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. All suggestions/comments can be viewed by the property owner so these are appreciated. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This is our second stay at Farlands and we loved it just as much this time."

It is just the comfiest house with everything we could need. All the rooms are spacious and it is so well equipped. I love that there is an area by the front door where we can store stuff, and the utility room is a huge bonus. It makes such a difference staying in a house where there is proper space for everything and everyone, especially when the weather is less than perfect. All in all we had a wonderful stay and we love Farlands! Thank you

  • "Our family of three generations had a wonderful holiday in Farlands."

We chose Farlands because of its location and it looked good on the website. We were not disappointed when we saw the real thing. The house is absolutely perfect for large groups and had everything in it that we could possibly need. We would certainly consider coming again, perhaps in the spring or summer when we could make use of the terraces and balconies.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay, and that the property suited all of your needs. • "I was looking for a pet friendly property, this was advertised as so."

But it was not. We have 2 tiny dogs and spent the entire time with them tied up when needed to go for a wee as the garden was not secure and the gate opened straight out onto a busy road. The grass was overgrown and only on Monday did the gardener turn up unannounced. The best room (lounge) is upstairs but dogs aren’t allowed up there yet there is not a stair gate? So again more stress keeping them downstairs (at home they are family pets and allowed everywhere in the house) and all of the doors shut. So as a family we didn’t use the garden at all. The back garden is concrete and not maintained, in fact we couldn’t use the washing line as was entangled with leaves and branches from the tree above. The games room only had one dart ? And on Wednesday August 16 there was a power cut from 9 ish until 6pm!! So much of our fridge food had to be thrown away. When we spoke to a neighbour they told us it was planned works. We then found a letter in the porch which envelope said in red bold writing “important information of electric disruption “( also addressed to occupier dated august 2) which said about the booked works although it stated on/off it was almost 9 solid hours. We should of been made aware as this was very inconvenient. We weren’t happy with the checkin/out times. In 4 pm and out 9.30 am. That’s a day lost. The house it self is lovely ,but with dogs it was not enjoyable. Had we of know we would of found a genuine pet friendly property.

Thank you for your feedback and good to hear you found Farlands to be a lovely house. I am sorry to hear of the inconvenience you had with the planned power cut. John Bray were notified of this and it appears this was not communicated to you as guests. The garden is to the front of the house and the rear of the house is not advertised as additional garden space. We do try to ensure the grass is cut prior to a guest's arrival, but unfortunately the gardeners have had to work around the inclement weather with grass-cutting this year. The garden is fenced and gated with the addition of chicken wire to ensure the safety of dogs. Sorry to hear that you didn't feel that your two tiny dogs were secure. We are dog-owners ourselves and understand people want to enjoy beautiful Cornwall with their four-legged friends. Farlands is available to those with or without dogs, so we do encourage dogs to be kept downstairs for any guests with allergies. We hope that the large entrance porch and utility room provide ample space for dogs when the guests are enjoying the use of the upstairs sitting room. There is also the use of the downstairs sitting room, where dogs are allowed. We hope you continue to enjoy Cornwall with your dogs in the future wherever you choose to stay. Property Owner

  • "Just the loveliest house."

Everything has been cleverly thought out and beautifully done. Loved the hot outdoor shower leading straight into indoor wetsuit hanging area which made post surf chaos so much easier. Two dishwashers was also a game changer. It is so well equipped and so comfortable. We’ve been renting in Cornwall for years and this was the nicest house we’ve ever taken. Loved it.

Lovely to hear you had such a fabulous stay at Farlands. Thanks for your positive feedback about all the house has to offer. We hope to welcome you back to Farlands if you visit the beautiful Cornish coastline again. The Owner. Property Owner

  • "Our stay at Farlands for Christmas was a great success."

We really appreciated the Christmas tree. The only niggle was the absence of sharp knives or a knife sharpener, which made carving a bit of a challenge! Otherwise we had a wi deregulation stay.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you had the chance to make the most of the local amenities! We appreciate you bringing the issue of lack of sharp knifes or knife sharpener. • "Overall it was brilliant."

They place was very accommodating for large families and we found it a really nice place to return to after a great time at the local beaches. The only issue we feel we should raise was that the bed in the master bedroom looked as though there had been a change to the original headboard and that there dangerous spikes sticking out in line with your head. My wife got a bruise on her arm but it could lead to a serious issue for future guests. Otherwise a perfect place and we all really enjoyed our time there. Thank you!

Thank you for letting us know, we are so sorry about this. This has been passed on to maintenance to resolve. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday and look forwards to you returning. Kindest, John Bray team. Property Owner

The rooms are all good sizes and the kitchen is well equipped. We normally stay in Rock so Daymer Bay was a new location for us. We enjoyed some lovely walks and lovely cream teas. The farm shop down the road is limited but does sell the most delicious cake! I would highly recommend Farland, the garden is a bit small for young children to play in but families with teenage children would love this house!!

  • "A lovely well equipped house in a good location."

Some of the doors upstairs could do with trimming, the lovely thick new carpet makes them hard to open; we couldn’t open one of the wardrobe doors in the upstairs twin room at all. The house description mentions a BBQ but we suspect it was locked in the garage; it was disappointing that John Bray didn’t get back to us about it having promised that they would. The only criticism we have is the late entry (4.30pm) and early departure time (9am) now many other properties have reverted to the pre-pandemic timings.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and good to hear you enjoyed your stay at Farlands in beautiful Trebetherick. The new carpets have been a wonderful new addition to the property and the cupboard doors upstairs have now been trimmed to accommodate the thicker pile. Sorry to hear you didn't have access to a BBQ and there is now a new kettle BBQ for guests use in the garden. Property Owner

The only downside was that there were too few mugs/cups! Apart from this Farlands was amazing. We were very happy to spend our holiday here, especially after being let down on our previous booking the day before our holiday!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback about Farlands. I am only sorry to hear that there were not enough mugs for your party. There are replacement mugs stored in a locked cupboard. Perhaps I could suggest you contact John Bray in the eventuality that you find something similar again in the future. Super to hear you finally had a wonderful break, having been previously let down. • "I understand the reasons why, but the strict arrival and departure times have a big impact on both days at the beginning and end of the holiday."

Being allowed to drop items early on the day of arrival (such as frozen food) and a slightly later (10am as it used to be?) departure time would greatly increase the enjoyment of those two days. I also understand why the cost of renting houses has increased. However, the owners need to understand that inflating costs bring with it inflated expectations of those renting their houses.

Thank you for your feedback. I can hear you understand the reasoning behind the slighter later arrival time and earlier departure. The additional hour, either end, enables us to keep our housekeeping staff safe and allows for additional sanitising before the arrival of new guests. We want to ensure that our guests at Farlands have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay. At Farlands, we continue to upgrade, as necessary. A new kitchen was added in 2020/21, new garden furniture for the summer of 2021 and all carpets are being replaced this Spring (as with the pool table and dartboard). We hope that all our guests enjoy the new additions we continue to add and value your feedback. Thank you for the positive reviews on the comfort, cleanliness and facilities and we hope you had a wonderful stay. Property Owner

About the location

DAYMER BAY

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
