  • "Property is stunning, the view is amazing."

The full length windows mean the view is always there and you can open wide to hear the sea and breathe in the sea air. Lovely to watch the changing tides and seals in the bay at times. Comfortable beds and living room, kitchen well equipped. The location is great, very short walk into the main town and although uphill coming back you can take a route which is a gradual incline rather than any steep slopes. The parking space is also very beneficial and rare for St Ives. There was a little bit of a smell in the upstairs shower room but only when the fan was on. The bath in the main room was fantastic. Would definitely return to Beach View.

  • "The property was very impressive and had the best view of St Ives we have experienced."

The general cleanliness was fine and the property itself met the needs of our party. However, there was a smell eminating from the vent in the 2nd floor bathroom which was very unpleasant which permiated to the whole property if we been out for the day.. We had to open all the balcony patio doors to relieve the problem. The smell was detectable at all times in the bathroom. I feel this should be addressed. Also a fire blanket had opened on the living area of the property which did spoil the flow of the area and was a bit of an eyesore. We were given forewarning of this by a member of the Carbis Bay Holidays team whilst on our journey to the property. These two problems did somewhat take the shine off what is a really lovely comfortable property which met our needs beautifully. We would stay there in an instant if these things were addressed.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback after your stay at Beach View and we are pleased to hear you were impressed with the high-quality standard of the property as well as the view. We are in the process of having the fire blanket / curtain replaced , unfortunately there is a lead time for this work to be carried out , regarding the smell , we are in contact with the local water company to understand the issue. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards, The Team at Carbis Bay Holidays. Property Owner

  • "My stay at this holiday home was perfect in every way."

The lounge has the most incredible view it really takes your breath away. The kitchen is super modern and high tech, I enjoyed my morning nespresso coffee looking out of the big windows at the sea. The kitchen is also very well stocked for any meals you want to have in. The sofas are large and comfortable and the TV has all the sky channels and movies. The upstairs bedroom suite is stunning with gorgeous views where I took a bath looking out of the huge windows. It also has a separate toilet and shower. There is an upstairs sofa bed room with another tv for any separate lounging. The downstairs double bedroom also has a gorgeous view and an en suite. There is also a twin room downstairs and a whole separate bathroom. All rooms are decorated to the highest standard and are super modern. The location is ideal. It is about a 10 minute walk into the main st ives town. The benefit of this is that you are out of the central town and therefore it is lovely and quiet and the views are incredible from up there. You are also very close to the best beach (in my opinion!) Porthminster which has a cute cafe serving hot drinks/cocktails/food and one of the best restaurants in st ives, Porthminster Beach Cafe. Make sure to book a table ahead of time as it can get busy. The Pend Olva and the Harbour Hotel are both also very close by and are two more of the best restaurants. This was the most relaxing break I could have asked for and I can’t wait to come back and stay again. Emma

  • "A really up to date, well presented, comfortable, immaculately clean holiday home with absolutely stunning bay and sea views from all the rear windows."

The property is next to quite a busy road into town and there is constant traffic noise throughout the day and evening which can be clearly heard inside the property - this could easily have been prevented with better windows and/or double glazing. On the top floor there was at times an unfortunate 'sewage' type smell which the owners had clearly tried to 'overcome' using air fresheners etc; we could only assume this is something in the drains which can't be solved. There were no re-cycling facilities provided at all and it was up to us as the renters to deal with it ourselves (if we chose to that is!); due to the lack of re-cycling facilities in the town we had to transport two bags of rubbish all the way home which is clearly not ideal at all.

Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you found the property comfortable and immaculate. We are sorry that you thought Beach View was loud, as outlined in the photos, it is located next to a road, shown on the website to see before booking. Regarding the intermittent smell you mention, this has been passed onto the owner and the maintenance team to look into straight away. The air fresheners are just a kind addition that the owners have chosen to purchase and provide for their guests – we apologise that you felt this extra touch was in relation to the smell you unfortunately experienced. Recycling facilities are down to the management company of the development so are unfortunately out of our control, however we will continue to try to work with them to improve on this. Thank you again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

The only negative is that the property is described as having the full Sky package but without the PIN number (which was understandably refused), the full package is only available after 9pm. I suggest the description is changed.

Dear Deana, thank you for your Feedback following your recent stay at Beach View and I’m so pleased to hear you thought it was fantastic and glad that you enjoyed the wonderful views over Porthminster Beach. With regards to the Sky Package, I am pleased to confirm the property does have the full package, however as with all Sky packages some programmes have restricted viewing times which have been set by Ofcom and are controlled by a mandatory PIN. These restrictions are on a sliding scale throughout the day with all progammes able to be viewed after the 9.00 pm wa-ershed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this but unfortunately we are unable to give out the PIN as this would enable access to the Owners personal Sky account. • "The views were exceptional."

The best we’ve had in 5 different stays at St Ives. The layout and general property experience was excellent. However, the sofas were uncomfortable, the kitchen cookware etc was not adequate for family cooking and there was very little clothes storage. Not providing more than a handful of hangers on a pole in each room was a gross under estimation on the owners part. Finally, the road noise was very noticeable. We’ve stayed in other properties on the same road, but there was a significant noise from passing vehicles at night in this property.

Dear Mr Wilson, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback to us. Its great to hear you enjoyed the views, they really are amazing from this property. In regard to the points you have raised; We will pass on your points to the housekeeper and owner, and they will be actioned accordingly. We are sorry to hear that you found the road noise noticeable, we sincerely hope that the location and view made up for this. Once again, we hope you had a wonderful holiday and we look forward to inviting you back in the future. Kind Regards, Owner Relations, Carbis Bay Holidays Property Owner

Could have done with lighter duvets as the bedrooms were warm and due to the proximity of the twin room to the road we were unable to open the window. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent my only request would be for sharper knifes. We were a group of six adults and the space was comfortable but ideally a zip and link bed in the twin room would have been a nice option.

Having to strip the beds and check out by 9am is a nightmare ask! Parking space did not account for roof boxes and we were not told this so after a long and tiring drive we nearly bashed our roof box and after the long drive having to take it off to fit under the parking space was not welcome! Please consider this for your guests! Tbanks thanks

It is located on the main road into St Ives . I would suggest that the location is not ideal for those with mobility issues. The beach and town are a 10 min walk away. It is quite a steep incline on the way back. Beds were comfortable and sitting areas ideal with views over the beach. Highly enjoyable stay and would probably return. "
