We were totally at home at Beach View- the actual location is ideal in proximity to the town for those who have accessibility as it’s a 10 min walk (includes inclines heading home) And such a short walk to Portminster beach for those early morning dips The layout of the house is ideal for those who want plenty of space or equally can sleep up to 6 Every consideration is there for a comfortable home from home and we were sad to leave The views of the bay were literally worth every penny Beautiful house and highly recommend

The property

Set overlooking Porthminster Beach, at St Eia, in St Ives, this semi-detached, house, enjoys stunning pretty harbour and sea views from most rooms, the town centre shops, beaches and St Ives scenic railway, all within a short stroll.

Sleeping six, plus an infant, it offers a perfect base for a group or family looking to enjoy all St Ives has to offer.

A spacious living area, located on the first floor, to maximise the spectacular picture postcard seaside setting, through floor to ceiling windows which open to a Juliette balcony, flows throughout so whether you’re creating dishes in the kitchen, dining in style or relaxing in the sitting area, you can enjoy this wonderful Cornish vista, flooded by natural light through the windows, lighting up the stylish interiors, including timber heated flooring, soft furnishing and artwork reflecting the area, throw open the French doors and breathe in the fresh sea air, sink into one of the two comfy sofas or chairs perfectly positioned to soak up the views, stretching across Porthminster beach to St Ives harbour, alternatively enjoy the entertainment on the 43" smart television with full Sky Q package, including sports and cinema.

The kitchen/diner is positioned within the first floor open plan living space, so guests can easily socialise with those preparing the meals and to benefit from its sea views, a wooden crafted dining table with six stylish chairs provides a wonderful setting to entertain or for the whole family to dine in, with an ocean backdrop, through the balcony glass doors, the German designer kitchen will delight, with Nolte units, top of the range Meile appliances and a AEG Washer/dryer, take a seat at the breakfast island, with three stalls, and enjoy a coffee chatting to the chef.

There is a choice of three comfortable bedrooms, and what a choice, you can choose from enjoying a freestanding bath with a sea view, in the master king sized bedroom on the top floor, or relaxing regally in a four poster bed, with the Juliette balcony doors open, breathing in the sea air, while you lie in bed watching the ocean, in the second bedroom, both of these rooms benefit from a private en-suite, the latter is located on the ground floor like the third twin room which features views of the golf course, to the rear, each bedroom is well presented, with timber heated flooring and sumptuously dressed beds, and offer ample storage space.

In addition to the en-suite shower rooms, in the master and second bedroom, there is a family bathroom, conveniently situated between the ground floor bedrooms, it offers the choice of a refreshing rainfall shower or a long soak amongst the bubbles after a busy beach day. A foodies favourite, its delight to dine out in St Ives, with a plethora of cafes and restaurants, many with picturesque harbour or beach settings and some award winning, like Porthminster Beach Café, set right on the nearest beach below, its mouth-watering dishes gaining a Michelin Plate, and its uninterrupted ocean views matching the quality of the food, St Ives natural light has inspired many artists over the years, the famous works are displayed at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, which like the many galleries and boutiques dotted amongst its pretty cobbled streets showcases the towns love of art.

To enjoy Cornwall’s wonderful, wildlife, fauna and flora and breath-taking coast, venture out for a walk along the South West Coast Path, locally it heads to Zenor or Hayle, stop of at Carbis Bay Beach for a swim or surf in its Blue Flag awarded crystal clear waters, like St Ives larger beaches, its lifeguarded at peak times, for a relaxing alternative hop on the scenic railway, it follows a similar route to the path, running beside Cornwall’s beaches.

Watching the sun set over the majestic St Michaels Mount, a castle set on its own island, near Penzance, which you can walk out to at low tide, or stepping onto the stage of the Minack, an open air theatre near Land’s End, dramatically cut out of a Cornish cliff, or walking high along the suspended canopy walkway above the trees of a tropical rain forest, at the Eden Project, near St Austell, all offer fabulous days out, the kids will love the thrills and spills of the exciting rides at Flambards in Helston, or Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge, the little ones will enjoy feeding the animals at Paradise Park, near Hayle. Staying at the aptly named, Beach View, will offer exactly what it promises in a wonderful setting and if you are tempted to explore, so much more right on your doorstep.

Where you’ll be staying

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
