  • "A perfectly formed gem of a cottage, compact but everything you need with a very well appointed kitchen."

The best kitchen I have had to work in for many years, sharp knives I can use. Little waging line to hang wetsuits. We would love to book again. Perfect location between Rock and The beach.

Thank you so much for your comments. We love hearing just how much you enjoyed your stay! Hopefully we can welcome you back again in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Lovely, cosy cottage which was nice to come home to after a day out."

Detailed cleaning a little neglected but didn't ruin the stay here. Rubbish in the outdoor bin store wasn't collected before we arrived, but there was still some room to put ours in at the end of our stay. We did call John Bray's regarding this. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our stay with our two grandchildren, so convenient for the beaches and very peaceful."

The cottage was lovely and we had no problem with the facilities as a previous customer had, all it takes is to read the instructions in the booklet concerning the facilities in the cottage. The only negative is the pub is no longer open as it says in the description of the cottage. As regards the Sykes website it's a nightmare and wouldn't be going through them again to rent a property. Totally unable to get any communication from them, John Bray however very helpful, i think they are part if Sykes but that us n8t made clear.

Thank you so much for your comments. We love hearing just how much you enjoyed your stay! Hopefully we can welcome you back anytime in the future. The pub should still be open so we are unsure what happened there. We will look into the communication issues with trying to reach us - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "This was a disaster."

Not only did I constantly report via live feed and chat bots the difficulties we were having getting the electric lighting in the kitchen and the cooker to work, it was as though my messages were disappearing into the ether. As I work in the media at the Financial Times as a journalist, I am used to navigating my way through web sites. I can say yours beggars belief. In desperation I rang John Bray, which sent an electrician out within 2 hours and solved the issue. I have consistently relied on Bray since I have been going to the area, from 1994. Also, as an owner from 2002-2005, I would wish to know that my marketing was working properly and my team were responsive. In neither case did this work. The absolute worst of customer service from Sykes & its digital "help" team.

As the cottage owners we are really sorry that there was a presumed issue with the hob during your stay. This was exacerbated by the lack of response on the digital system, which we will let Sykes address. We are glad that the local John Bray office responded more promptly. Subsequently we did have the hob checked and it was fully functioning. As an induction hob it requires a pan to be in position before heat is produced. We will highlight this fact in the instructions. Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately we found black mould in the corner of the bedroom with the twin beds."

The mould ran down the corner of the room and above the skirting board behind the bed. This is particularly concerning as my Son has a lung condition and we had to clean the wall and move him out of the room.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Your comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays and to the owner and we are sorting. We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Cosy small cottage, but tastefully decorated and nice and clean, and had everything we needed."

Good location....good access to Rock, Polzeath and Port Isacc. Not sure if owner aware, but the pub a few doors down closed a week before we arrived, which was a shame. We partly chose cottage as pub in village....but not much you can do about this. Fyi, we had some difficulties getting hob to work....but did eventually. Perhaps clearer instructions would be helpful. Overall, good quality cottage and would definitely return!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased that you found the property comfortable and that it suited your needs. We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with the hob, we are currently in the process of updating the information folders for each property. The property

A delightful, charming cottage in the peaceful village of St. Minver with beautifully styled interiors that create a calm and comforting feeling, situated just up the quiet lane from the enchanting 12th-century Church.

Stokes Cottage offers an idyllic combination as the character of the original cottage has been retained, but thoughtfully updated with tasteful, contemporary furnishings and modern facilities, that complement the original features.

From the moment you step into the sitting room, you can relax into your Cornish holiday by kicking off your shoes and sinking into the sofa to recharge after your journey.

In the winter months, enjoy this perfect refuge to while away the hours by curling up with a book in the snug armchair in front of a roaring open fire after a bracing coastal walk!

Following through into the brand-new kitchen you have all the cooking facilities you need, whether it's to prepare you for the day ahead with a full English breakfast or coming back to a rustle up a hearty family dinner.

After a heavenly day at the beach you can retreat to your Cornish bolthole and enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine in the sheltered courtyard, finished with its attractive slate patio and surrounding planting.

Upstairs, the characterful master bedroom is graced with natural light flooding in through the sash windows while the bright, airy twin bedroom offers extra adults or children their own cosy space to escape and rest peacefully.

The new, modern bathroom provides a stand alone shower and the ultimate convenience of modern facilities to freshen up in. Within the village of St. Minver, you can venture over to the local beach at Rock, renowned for its sandy shores out to the Camel Estuary.

Here you can hone your skills on the water with Camel Ski School's experiences in water-skiing and sailing or for the more laid back lifestyle, soak up the atmosphere in any of the many local pubs, cafes and restaurants.

From Rock you can continue on and explore the coastline with a picturesque walk along the South West Coastal Path around Brea Hill (or up and over for those with a bucketful of energy!) to the spectacular Daymer Bay, Greenaway and Polzeath.

A charming hideaway in a great location for enjoying the Cornish coast.
