The wood burning stove was perfect for the chilly evenings. Thank you as well for the lovely cake, that was definitely appreciated after we had a long drive. It made us feel at home straight away! The kitchen had everything we needed. Very handy to have the dishwasher and the washing machine.

  • "Lovely old cottage with lots of original features."

We holidayed as a party of 5 people and had two cars. Parking at the cottage proved to be an issue as space extremely limited and surrounding properties had the same issues. Additional parking was possible away from the cottage. It was really appreciated on arrival that a welcome note and cake had been provided for our enjoyment which was a nice touch. Cottage was plenty big enough for us and had all basic items/utensils that we would need. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the local vicinity and further afield which we all thoroughly enjoyed. My suggestions to improve our (and others holiday makers) stay would be to fix the upstairs bathroom shower issue (shower screen isn't big enough to contain water to bath area which subsequently drips down into dining area - which owner is aware of) plus would have been a nice touch to have some logs supplied for the log burner in the evenings.

  • "The property was exactly what we needed for 3 adults; very comfortable and clean and we appreciated the cake, dog biscuits, flowers etc."

. However, if 6 adults were to be there it would be quite cramped as you'd struggle to get all to sit in the living room (4 adults and 2 children would be fine). It could do with a decent teapot instead of the 2 x 1 mug small ones and also a decent milk jug. The extractor fan in the family bathroom needs fixing. We really enjoyed our stay at Jubilee Cottage and our time in the area.

The cake, milk, flowers and dog biscuits were a lovely, welcoming surprise. The house is furnished beautifully and the beds were comfortable. It’s in a fab location, we usually visit lots of beaches when we’re in Cornwall but we just kept going back to Trebarwith Strand, it was a perfect beach for us, fab waves for body boarding, you just need to be aware of the tide times because the beach fully disappears at high tide. The highlight of our holiday was coasteering at Port Gaverne, we also visited the Eden Project and Adrenaline Quarry. We ate at Port William at Trebarwith Strand, delicious food with a stunning view.

It’s a short walk to the beach, but it’s all down hill and get be a little tricky. Parking was ok, getting into Treknow, we soon learned to stay on the B road and come in along the top than using the smaller roads to do it.

The stairs to 3 bedrooms and bathroom are a little steep to negotiate (although this didn't bother us), so you may want to keep this in mind if you are thinking of booking (there is 1 x single bedroom and toilet/shower room downstairs). We had a lovely and would highly recommend this cottage for a 'get-away-from-it all' stay. It is located yards from footpaths that lead to the coastal path and short distance to local pubs and tidal beach.

  • "The property was beautiful."

The welcome cake, dog blanket & biscuits were just the loveliest touch. Just a couple of niggles: the shower in the downstairs toilet leaked everyday & there is a wobbly kitchen floor tile. Both of these were in a guest's review as needing to be fixed last summer, so a shame it has been ignored. There were dirty baking trays still in the oven where previous holidaymaker had used to cook bacon or similar as had dried fat in it & the dishwasher was still full. We would have liked a little bit of trellis round the back wall, to give a little bit more privacy but still see out & also to keep your dog enclosed easier. The information folder needs a real update & maybe a new folder & with better explanation of rubbish collection as we had to find out ourselves that as a holidaymaker we were not allowed to be collected by the residents rubbish men. Bigger recycling bins we found, would have been good as would a broom to sweep the front courtyard. Little things that would then make this cottage an absolute 5* - but is still beautiful.

Well equipped and beautifully furnished. Unlike some rentals there were sharp knives! and every kitchen tool you could want which makes a self catering stay so much easier. The only 'gripe' was not enough info about the bins and recycling, but a small thing in the grand scheme of the holiday.

  • "We had a fabulous time, the location in the village was wonderful, giving easy access to Trebarwith Strand beach and the coastal path."

There were some issues with the property maintenance: - multiple door handles need screws to keep on, the handles kept coming off. - many windows rattle in the wind! We used paper wedges to stop but took a few nights to work this out (as the wind seemed to pick up only at night at first) - some shutters had poorly fitted hooks and wouldn't stay closed at night when there was a breeze, particularly the upstairs bedrooms. - tiles on the kitchen floor are chipping / flaking. - difficult to open and close the wooden gate near the kitchen - constant puddle in the downstairs bathroom near the shower - no toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom - mattress in the master bedroom feels worn out on one side Generally the property was great, the above were niggles but didn't stop us having a wonderful two weeks.

We were not told this until we arrived and we’re expecting to be able to use a washing machine during our stay This means that we had to keep making trips to the laundrette which cost a fortune This did add extra stress to our week away that we did not anticipate happening I understand that things go wrong but when you have paid full price for a cottage we should have the facilities listed in the booking It is a shame that this let our stay down because everything else about the cottage was perfect

The cottage was clean and comfortable, and we loved the quirky traditional features. The shutters are lovely! Very comfortable beds too. The layout was perfect for our needs. Family of 2 adults and 2 boys age 10 and 11. They enjoyed the mezzanine level, and would disappear up there after a busy day at the beach . The downstairs shower room also very handy to wash the sand off before going any further into the cottage. The private front area was a little sun trap and great for drying wet suits and storing body boards etc. The back garden with patio furniture was great for relaxing with a glass of wine! The cottage is set in a little hamlet, roads are traditionally Cornish! We have a large Volvo and managed it, the car fit on the designated parking area. You do have to be a relatively good driver to navigate the local roads! Area was outstanding. Short 10 min walk to the beach, not a walk for people with mobility issues, as down a steep track. I managed it in flip flops though so not too bad! Beach gorgeous. Low tide for 3 hours a day only so it’s not a busy busy beach. Kids loved it as little caves and ‘private’ rock pools to play in. Paradise. We were lucky enough to have wall to wall sunshine for the entire week. We visited Rock, Port Isaac and Charlestown. I can Honestly say the most beautiful places in the U.K. I have visited. Also had lunch at the Port William Inn over looking the local beach. Sorry for the essay but we had such a great time I had to tell all. We will be back, thank you

On arrival all the windows and doors where open to air the cottage, clean bedding and fresh towels. You are not allowed in till 5pm for covid cleaning well it had not been done fingerprints all over the toaster, mouldy coffee in coffee caddy on work top, dirty oven, bathrooms had a lick and a promise, one set of curtains in the whole of the property and they where hanging off the rail all hooks broken and missing, rugs where filthy, the floors where disgusting our grandchild had black feet and we had no mop so could not clean, windows not cleaned, door knob to front room came off in hand, grass had not been cut and BBQ had not been emptied and the small courtyard had not been swept and full of weeds. Also we were expecting clean bedding and towels the following Saturday as previous holiday accommodations had done so, it did not arrive. The plus was really good kitchen utensils and amazing hot water. The owners had a approx year to get the property up to standard due to covid , maintained and painted throughout nothing had been done. We received an email please leave the cottage as you found it but we emptied the BBQ, cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen, hoovered the floors and removed bedding for the cleaners had we left it as we found it you would know be contacting us asking why we had left in such a dirty state we bought cleaning products so we could feel comfortable during our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback which has been noted. The owner's contact details are sent to all guests prior to arrival. Had you raised any of these concerns during your stay they would have been happy to assist straightaway. Fresh bedding and towels could have been provided halfway through your two week holiday, had you requested this. Most of the windows have wooden shutters, the exception being the kitchen (which has a blind) and the french doors in the living area which have a curtain. As you will see from other reviews previous guests have been really pleased with their holiday at 1 Jubilee Cottage. Both the owner and cleaner always do their best to make customers feel welcome and are sorry that they did not have the opportunity to demonstrate this during your holiday. Property Owner

Second and last issue was the fridge, cmon it needs levelled. Right now the good stuff, well this only needs to a few words, awesome & beautiful. I would highly recommend. PS one last thing to the owner, if it’s possible I would recommend getting larger beds if the cottage can accommodate them.

I can see that this might be personal preference, but it did affect our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The owners has checked the bed just to be sure: both the bed and the mattress are quite new and they haven't received any other similar comments regarding the bed. As you mention: the comfort of a bed is often down to the individual's preference. We are sorry to hear that this did not fit with your requirements on this occasion. Property Owner

  • "The house was ideal for our party of 3 adults plus one small dog."

We went out for short walks every day (limited by human arthritis and canine stamina), pursued our various hobbies (photography, needlework, reading) visited the farm shops and cooked all but one of our main meals in the cottage. The house was perfect for this mix: plenty of different areas for different activities at the same time, the coastline a short stroll away and a well equipped kitchen with quality kitchenware. There were a few small maintenance issues the most annoying of which was that the refrigerator is not secured in its housing so it tipped forwards more than once when the door was open and food was spilt inside. There was also a loose door handle on one of the bathroom doors and a leak from an upstairs shower onto the breakfast table. These were irritating but didn’t spoil our holiday and I left a list for the owner. So he could deal with them. One of the best bits was the welcome, for our dog and for us: Some dog biscuits and a throw for the furniture so that the dog could sit with us, and a cake for the humans.. We had a really lovely time and I’m sorry it has come to an end after only a week.
