  • "What a fantastic little cottage ."

We had a lovely week at Shrimpers cottage. It was very comfortable, cosy & clean with everything you could possibly need . Great to have a washing machine & the shower was fabulous. We loved it. For us it was the price that attracted us, although our children are grown up & no longer want to holiday with us , working in a school still ties us to 1/2 term holidays & sadly so often properties in the area out price us ! However shrimpers cottage was very reasonably priced . Perfect location . 5 minute walk to the pityme , we had a great Sunday lunch there . We would highly recommend, in fact we loved it so much we’ve already booked to come back next year !!

Thank you so much for your comments. We love hearing just how much you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We thought the cottage was lovely and perfect for our week away."

It was clean, modern and spacious and well located close to nearby beaches and amenities. The shower was excellent and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. The garden was nice and private and it was very quiet too. I would highly recommend.

Thank you for taking time to provide such positive feedback & we’re pleased you had a lovely stay at our cottage. Property Owner

  • "We booked this very last minute due to being double booked at our initial lodge."

The location of shrimpers cottage is perfect and so handy for local amenities and the beaches too. The living room Was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed in it and great to be able to wash our clothes too. However, the double bed was quite uncomfortable and hard so didn’t sleep too well in that. The bed in the back bedroom was much comfier although it was a single. The blinds in the bedrooms let a lot of light in and meant we were up with the larks on a morning. Also, a larger mirror in the main bedroom would be very useful. We loved the shower, great temperature and pressure. Never wanted to get out of it. We enjoyed our short stay at shrimpers - thanks for having us at such short notice

Thank you for sharing a review of your stay. We agree the cottage offers so much in terms of location; amenities etc. and we appreciate the appraisal, which will be shared with the property owner. We would love to welcome you back anytime in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Shrimpers cottage was a great base for our trip to Cornwall and we could not fault anything."

It was spotless, comfortable and tastfully decorated and had home from home vibe which is often lacking in some self catering accomodation. Kitchen had everything you need and outside space was larger than expected and a pleasant space to chill out after a day out. Bathroom had a great shower! Cottage is in a quiet location yet only a 5 minute stroll to the local pub and Bluntrock brewery (great atmosphere, live music and street food). A wonderful selection of local shops (butcher, baker/deli, fish and chip shop 10/10) are all within a 15 minute walk. Rock is around half hours walk away with great restaurants and the regular ferry over to Padstow. Rock is also a great base for a coastal walk to one of the many beaches in the area. Polzeath is certainly worth a visit, plenty of places to eat and a haven for watersports lovers! All in all, a fabulous holiday in a lovely cottage. Highly recommend!

Thank you for taking time to leave such a positive review. We’re really pleased you experienced what the area has to offer and enjoyed time your stay at Shrimpers. Property Owner

  • "Everything was brilliant the only small thing we would point out was the barbecue on site was not cleaned, it wasn’t a problem to us as we used our own portable barbecue on the appropriate tiles supplied but may cause an issue to anyone not bringing their own."

Lovely comfortable cottage with all requirements met inside.

  • "Great location to explore N."

Cornwall coast, well equipped, clean and comfortable. However, we were disappointed there was no basic welcome pack on arrival after a long drive. The oven was difficult to operate, despite following the instructions in the folder and the manual. TV was rather small with poor quality picture. Could benefit from a light on the patio, for sitting out in the evenings.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property and we’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in Cornwall. We’re sorry you found the oven tricky - we’ll definitely look to re-word the instructions in the folder for future users. Property Owner

  • "Lovely neat neat little cottage that served our purposes perfectly."

Only because it has been so carefully maintained would I like to mention these few suggestions.1) we never found any wooden spoons/cooking utensils. 2) the saucepans, hiding in a very concealed drawer under the oven were not obvious either and I had to call the company to find them. 3) the decking and fencing in the garden area, while very practical, could be made more attractive, a few colourful flowers, hydrangeas or something, would make all the difference. Equally, if the rear fence was lowered to afford more of a view, I think it would be an improvement. But overall a wonderful find and I would certainly consider a repeat stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Shrimper's Cottage and appreciate your comments. I am sorry that you did not find the wooden spoons and the saucepans, in Brand we had the information regarding the items' whereabouts to put into the property but we neglected to do this. We are very sorry that you could not locate them. This information is now in the property to point guests in the right direction for these items. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Second year at Shrimpers Cottage and it was as good as the first time, will definitely try and book this property again when we decide on our next Cornwall holiday."

The location is convenient for either walking or driving to the various beaches and attractions in the area and the facilities in the property are excellent with a high level of cleanliness and comfort. One observation, the street lighting makes the bedrooms very bright so blackout blinds or curtains would make for a better nights sleep.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future! We will pass your recommendations onto the owner. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Think the owner would like to know that the extractor fan wasn’t working in the bathroom."

Also a mirror in the main bedroom to dry your hair at would be good but just used the one in my daughters bedroom . But this is very, very minor comment. Cottage was great, excellent facilities, everything you could ask for and need. Welcome pack was lovely. Very clean and comfortable.

Thank you for the positive feedback &we do appreciate you letting us know about the extractor fan. It was working for us during Feb half term but must now need fixing - so we’ll get that sorted. Property Owner

  • "A great, well kept, comfortable cottage in an excellent location."

We had a wonderful stay at explored Rock, Port Isaac, Polzeath, Padstow, Newquay amongst others during our stay. All very accessible. An excellent base to explore Cornwall. The only slight panic we had was in locating the key box in the front , which might be a challenge for those arriving in the dark or with a slight knee issue. Otherwise, a great little place to enjoy Cornwall.

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage & are grateful for the feedback. We looked to relocate the lock box, but having stayed at the property you’ll appreciate that there are limited options for a discreet location. Property Owner

also bit dusty/dirty in places. our main gripe is we left an electrical item behind, and contacted them same day we left to try to arrange its prompt return. very limited follow-up and information given. after chasing them 3 times was finally told 13 days later the item wasnt found. we csnt be the first people to leave items behind. poor service which leaves a bit of a sour taste

We’re glad you enjoyed the welcome basket at our cottage but sorry to read that the cleaners didn’t find the electrical item that you left. We completely appreciate your frustration & thank you for your time to provide feedback. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy cottage in really excellent location."

Very clean and well presented. Really lovely outdoor space which we enjoyed when our young son napped in the afternoons. Only negative was TV signal was very poor- only able to get 1 channel- didn’t cause us too much of an issue though as weather was good and we were out a lot. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and are sorry to hear you’ve not had much luck with the TV. I know that the remote has to be aimed directly at the TV to change the channels (so a bit sensitive) but there are definitely the basic channels - alongside the option of Netflix. Property Owner
