  • "We had a lovely week at Fern Gulley and would recommend it to our friends and family."

We did the lovely little woodland walk in the rain one evening and imagine it would be even better if dry. The games room was a great addition and we went in every evening to play pool, you do need 50p to play though. The cottage had everything most people need, there were just a few things that could make it even better (sweeping brush, bigger bin) The laundry room was very useful. I do like to do washing on holiday as having three children I can’t wait until I get home ☺️ The cottage was further away from the beach than i realised but that wasn’t an issue, you are very close to lots of places. The manager was extremely helpful and let us check in early with leaving home in the early hours with three children.

  • "So glad we booked this cottage!"

The pictures do not do it justice! Set in a lovely picturesque location! The cottage is equipped with everything you may need and more, ideally located to visit some really beautiful areas of Cornwall, the Cottage is spotlessly clean with comfy beds and nice bedding, all on one level and very safe for our 3 year old Grand daughter, the little park and games room is also a big bonus, we had a couple of questions at the start of our stay which were dealt with straight away! If your looking for a lovely place to stay in Cornwall, you will not be sorry if you choose this place! Many thanks for a lovely stay!

If, like ours, you need a comfortable and well appointed base to explore the local landscape I can’t think of a better one than Tregamere Barton Cottages.

  • "Our stay at FernGully was excellent."

The cottage was appointed to a very high standard & the "setting" & views all around were magnificent. The owners were excellent & couldn't do enough for us to make our our stay home from home. Therefore, we would highly recommend this cottage.

  • "A beautiful well appointed and comfortable holiday cottage which could be even better."

The instructions for the key are incorrect. After 2 phone calls we found out that the key safe was next to the cottage door NOT near the laundry door as in the instructions. 2 bulbs in the master bedroom suite were blown and hence not working. I suggest that the 2 slice toaster be upgraded to a 4 slice. If the cottage were inhabited by 6 people it would take forever to toast say 12 slices of bread for breakfast. Also the frying pan should be replaced by a non stick version as I totally ruined my attempt at an omelet which ended up more like scrambled egg trying to avoid it sticking. Apart from these 2 suggestions the kitchen was excellent.

  • "We had a very comfortable stay in Ferngully."

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The surroundings were very beautiful and peaceful, especially the lake walk. The Games Room was popular with our children (although 50p is needed each time to play pool which could be advertised on the website). We love the area especially Mawgan Porth Beach. We hope to return soon.

  • "FernGully is a very comfortable property and is in a good location to explore the surrounding area."

We were a mixed age group and everyone had a wonderful time in the cottage. We slept well and had many days out, the coast is quite near and beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, and the games room looks fun, but due to covid this was understandably closed. There are walks on the doorstep and our youngest enjoyed the childrens play area. Good safe parking. Nice views from grounds over fields and lots of sheep. Cosy, warm, and nicely decorated property. Great stay. The only niggle was the wifi which dropped in and out regularly, but to be honest this was not a problem for us.

  • "Liquid soap was watered down."

Carpet in doorway from bathroom to bedroom was soaking. Double bed sheet had mould on it. Lights flashing on oven, unable to get it working due to no instruction booklet.

  • "The only downside to our stay were the beds being uncomfortable for my husband and I maybe a memory foam topper on the beds?"

Other than that a very enjoyable stay and very well equipped cottage.

  • "We have been to these cottages for the past 10 years and love it there, however considering we were asked to give another two hours on top of normal check in time from 3pm to 5pm to allow for extra cleaning, there were cobwebs in most of the rooms and spiders and the en-suite bathrooms bin wasn’t emptied from the previous guests."
