  • "The kitchen is very poorly equipped - there is a salad spinner missing the inside bowl (that was there last year - it has not been replaced) - so not usable."

There are no serving dishes only two Pyrex oven dishes so we had to use the fruit bowl (and there was only one of those !). No serving spoons either. The bottom front panel of the washing machine was loose and kept on falling off (looked like it had been like that for a while). The shower head in the bathroom straight ahead as you enter the property - was not working fully (and again had been like that last year). Why not a line somewhere for hanging out wet towels/swimsuits etc or at least another airier that could be used for this purpose - had to drape everything over the picnic table and chairs - so then where do you sit ?

  • "The location of this property is Fantastic!"

The views are excellent and close to lovely beaches, we really enjoyed our holiday but the house itself unfortunately could do with abit of TLC, it's rather run down and you have 4 large bedrooms yet only 2 double beds rather than king size beds (plenty of room for an upgrade!) Cleanliness wasn't too bad but could be improved, and the electric kept tripping. All that aside we really did enjoy our holiday and the views make it all worthwhile!

  • "Amazing location, wonderful countryside and views and large spacious accommodation, with a well-equipped kitchen."

The property could do with some attention being paid to the bathrooms, in particular. There was a shattered window and one of the ground floor windows would not shut. Jason, the caretaker, was easy to reach and helpful.

Thank you for getting back to us – we really appreciate all feedback, and we are sorry to hear about the issues with the windows. Glad to see Jason was there to rectify but we will work to see no issues like this arise again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The listing is fantastic for families or people with dogs."

we requested an extra dog which was accepted fine. the rooms were clean and tidy. kitchen lovely although we were not familiar with oven so took a few attempts. sun room has amazing views. courtyard great to contain dogs/kids and back garden area good. only criticism is we could not find outside tap and hose. needed the hose for washing off dogs after beach!. walk to beach is a bit steep in places - would not be good for elderly or disabled or if you need buggies for kids. our recycling didn't get collected on the proposed day - have fed that back to vendor. but at the end of the day as a party of 8 adults and 3 dogs this place was great. suited our needs perfectly. 5 star listing!

  • "While we loved the spot and space in the house there were a few issues."

Main one being we could not make the house secure as a window could not be shut. We’re told by the caretaker he was expecting someone that week to fix it. No one turned up. Cooker needs attention , need somewhere to hang wet suits , swimmers etc. Views are however spectacular and for a family or families the space and separate sitting areas brilliant. Attention to detail would really bring this property to another level.

  • "Super location and great size."

The property grows on you . Initially the unkept garden and quite a lot of old stained furniture as well as very drab dark bathrooms felt really quite depressing . The window in less depressing bathroom doesn’t open and no fan. However as we settled in to our holiday , more important was the space and location. A few touches missing would have been nice for this number of “star” property E.g some logs for the fire, welcome pack, even the flowers in vases published in advert. Really though, you need to at least replace dining room chairs and tidy up the garden as these things impact someone’s holiday. It’s a really super place, wouldn’t take much to feel you’d made an effort for guests on their much needed holiday. Thank you very much.

  • "The property is absolutely beautiful."

We had a lovely stay, its a shame we only had a weeks stay. We can't complain about much due to it being so close to perfection, but if we had to comment on anything it would be the rugs aren't very pleasant due to extracts, the bins were full from the previous occupies and the mattresses could do with updating. Everything else was perfect. The layout was outstanding, the views were amazing and the caretaker was very helpful so we couldn't of asked for a better property. It's beautiful, stunning in fact. We would love to own a house like this one. Just beautiful

Fantastic views, especially watching the rainstorms :-) Lots of space for the kids to play inside, and they loved exploring the gardens. Great being able to walk down to the beach at Gwynver, the kids loved engineering the stream and playing in the rockpools. Jason the caretaker was very friendly and helpful when we accidentally tripped the electrics by making too much toast. Only thing missing was a dustpan and brush, it was hard to keep on top of the sand invading the porch! Thanks for a lovely stay :-)

  • "This is a lovely spacious house in a great location with amazing views."

The house is a bit dated in places but was very clean and well equipped for 8 adults. We did however find the beds very uncomfortable - which was a shame seeing as the bedrooms are very large and could easily accommodate king size divan beds rather than the creaky wooden framed ones provided which have very basic mattresses. Despite this though, it was a great base for this part of Cornwall and overall we were pleasantly surprised - especially in view of the price. The listing doesn't mention that there is a dishwasher in the kitchen - so that was a real bonus and the caretaker, Jason, was very helpful both before and during our stay.

We spoke to Sykes who were helpful and responsive. When we arrived the house itself was clean, however incredibly tatty and worn. Key comments: Damp and mold in bedroom cupboard is not acceptable Some of the furniture was worn out and needed to go Kitchen was home made and rickety Bathroom was bodged together with different tiles, presumably as an when fixes have been put in The outside space could be very nice however it was overgrown (albeit a gardener did arrive mid week and addressed the parking area)....too late for us. Only a tired outside pub bench to sit on and a rusty BBQ that is beyond use, was provided. I dont think we should pay this much for a house of this quality and upkeep. I can send photos as needed Look forwards to hearing from you? Oliver

  • "1. The location of this place is fantastic."

Private path down to a sandy dog friendly surfing beach. It is steep though, so you have to be reasonably fit. However, if you don't want to walk and surf and lie on a beach (which we did), there isn't so much in the near vicinity - you will have to drive somewhere. Sennen is all about surfing. 2. Larger property than we thought. Detached and isolated. All good. It exceeded our expectations by a long way. 3. So so fixtures and fittings and a bit dated. But if it was a show home we could never have afforded it. Some day someone will spend a lot of money doing it up and it will go for a sky high sum of money. 4. Sykes very very iffy on Covid guarantees. Promised things in writing on booking which were never delivered. Couldn't get a straight answer. Fortunately didn't have to cancel. 5. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. Loved the place.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Tregiffian Vean, thankyou."

The location was ideal, quiet surroundings, but easy walking to Sennen Cove, and central for a visit to the Minack (although we chose a very wet evening to go!). However, the property is in need of a little TLC (particularly outside) and a bit of "attention to detail" inside, ie missing light bulbs, lack of full-length mirror, instructions for the washer/dryer, rugs beside the beds in the twin room - cold floor for your feet! Jason the manager was very helpful and quickly responded when we had issues which needed dealing with. We were surprised at the lack of an outside line to dry washing (at least we couldn't find one!), particularly as the house sleeps up to 8 - putting everything in the washer/dryer for a large family is not very practical. The shower was not very powerful in the bathroom on the right as you enter the property. The heating was very efficient though, as the evenings were quite chilly. The garden area could do with a good tidy-up, and the contents of the wooden shed left a lot to be desired. However, these things did not detract from a very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable break for us five "60 something" ladies from Devon!

The house itself is quite run down in places and needs some TLC. There were a few things that were broken and in general needs some love! There were also a few key things missing e.g. An iron, bin bags, logs for fire (which said would be provided). For the last 1.5 days the hot water stopped working too. However, lots and lots of space and rooms to sit in and the views made it all worth it!

  • "The house was in an excellent position with a lovely walk down to the beach."

There was plenty of room and the views were wonderful. The house was clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. However a lot of the windows would not open and this would be a problem in hot weather, particularly in the conservatory. The bathroom needs either a window that will open or an extractor fan as there is nowhere for the steam to escape and the bedrooms feel damp. Some of the webbing under the seats in the conservatory has collapsed which means some of the seats cannot be used which was disappointing. It would have been nice if the garden had been tidied up and the grass cut so that we could have used it. Apart from these issues we very much enjoyed our stay and the welcome pack was a nice touch which meant we could have a cup of tea and a biscuit when we arrived.
