  • "There were five of us at the Old Stables plus of course Cockpoodle, so we had bags of space which was great on our one somewhat rainy day when we could use the board games and do some cooking in the very well resourced kitchen."

All the beds were super comfortable and it was great to return from the beach using the outside shower and then one of the two house showers. The garden was most unusual and provided all sorts of different spaces for outside activities at each of its different levels. Being August the beaches were quite busy and so it was delightful to take the short drive back to the house which was wonderfully peaceful by contrast. Choice of nearby beaches was marvellous and we went to most of them plus a splendid meal at the Falcon Inn at St Morgan and the Japanese Gardens there was something else for us garden enthusiasts. So we loved every moment and thank you so much for being on hand, all best.

  • "The steps and staircases and room layout meant that the property is not suitable for people with mobility issues and the elderly."

The heavy benches around the table in the rather cramped kitchen/diner are also a problem. Despite an initial heating problem being quickly resolved by the helpful owner, the kitchen itself was too cold to eat comfortably in. The conservatory door was difficult to close and lock and it was a shame that the conservatory had no heating. Lovely secure garden for the dogs.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We will adjust the description to flag that the property is not suitable for the elder let or those with mobility issues. Heating should have been working and has been checked so very sorry about that. Property Owner

  • "The property was great - a real home from home and would certainly recommend without any hesitancy."

The whole family agreed that it would be our preferred place to stay if we come back to Newquay. There were some slight issues, which I hope will be useful. The main bedroom door - top hinge is loose, causing the door to drop slightly, so it doesn't close properly. On-suite bathroom: door hing is slightly bent, so causes sticking when closed. A member of our family needed assistance to get out. Bulb missing on mirror. Kitchen: The star LED lights on the wall could do with a simple remote plug-in plug. There's a potential hazard if the existing double adapter, which was hangoing out of the socket, were to fall. Amazon unit on the counter could not be used. It kept asking for a login. Hall to bedrooms off kitchen: ceiling bulb not working. Garden: Potential hazard for children. There is easy access to the pergola beams and fall from the grass walkway leading to the hammocks. Hall to bedroom with diamond window: ceiling bulb not working. Downstairs toilet: door latch does not meet. Inside bolt very tight. Downstairs bathroom: bolt does not meet. Second light not working. Guide book states, in reference to cooker, "Please read instruction at rear of this guide to usage." But no instructions. Same applies for washing machine and tumble dryer. Guide mentions television in kitchen - but there isn't one. The above list are things I noticed could do with fixing. They aren't major issues and did not spoil our enjoyment of this lovely home. I mention them because they are little maintenance issues that could quite easily be missed. Regards, Philip

Thanks so much Philip. Really helpful. Pleased to say we have sorted all these issues now. Hope to see you again Property Owner

Enter into the kitchen and immediately notice the high ceilings, exposed stonework and host of cooking appliances, including a gas range cooker, catering to your culinary needs.

A sofa is tucked in too for curling up with a book.

Wander down the hall to find the first bedroom, occupying a super-king-size bed with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, whilst next door lies a 4ft double bed with a mezzanine ladder suitable for two children or one adult.

Wander back through the kitchen into a communal entrance hall leading off to the third bedroom, offering two singles, serviced by the family bathroom with choice of bath and shower over.

From the kitchen, head up into the mezzanine sitting room, a light and airy space in the summer and equally as cosy in the winter, featuring a plush corner settee facing the Smart TV and woodburning stove, perfect for movie marathons.

A step down leads into the sun room, uplifted by natural light and offering a lovely space to read and appreciate the views over the garden and into the surrounding fields.

The master bedroom upstairs has a generous super-king-size bed with en-suite freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

A door opens onto a lovely private back deck with an olive tree and lavender and new garden furniture and an outdoor shower.

To the side of the property there is a large enclosed lawned area perfect for family games and a good space for your your dog to run about safely.

Horses potter in the adjoining field.

Here you will find more patio furniture offering seating for eight while a new luxury gas barbecue allows for grilled feasts.
