  • "2nd holiday at the Highlands cottage in Trelights village, the cleanliness was much improved this time, though a shame the front window/patio door was very foggy, the cottage is well equipped and all linen and towels were of good quality and very clean, We felt very at home and once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay in beautiful Cornwall!"

We like that the village isn't far in either direction to other great areas and beaches, our dogs love Daymar bay and went most evenings for our last walk.. The garden was well used as the weather was very kind to us. There are 2 deck chairs in the garage to use if weather is nice, the table and chairs in the garden are ready for some TLC but do the job, we ate outside most days. The garden is safe and secure and our dogs love it. (For other dog owners there is a dog poo bin at the start of the cul de sac) lovely friendly little village to walk around and chat with people. There was quite a few road works in and around Trelights village, we were detoured around lots of small winding roads which was interesting if not a little scary..

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This is a great location and the bungalow is comfortable."

The garden is pretty. I would have liked to be able to control the heating but it didn't seem possible to override the settings. It would have been helpful to have had some information available about the various appliances in the property, as well as the information about the general area.

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Highlands. Thank you for providing us with your feedback, we have noted your suggestions and the owner will be made aware. Clean and well maintained. Had a slight heating issue but was dealt with quickly. Perhaps more saucepans as only 1 is difficult for a meal also clearer instructions where wifi router is and code. Very peaceful spot. Enjoyed the cream tea ingredients left for us thankyou

  • "Overall a nice property."

However. The home needs a good clean. The bathroom especially. Dirty tiles and black mould. The blind was filthy and wouldn’t wind back up after being lowered. The pull cord for the light was black and hadn’t been cleaned in years. The carpets throughout had marks that need cleaning. The front bedroom had mould on the mattress topper. Overall the place was as advertised in a good location, just let down by the level of cleanliness.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your stay. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the property overall but are disappointed to hear the cleaning was not at the standards expected. Had we been made aware at the time, we would have gladly re-attended to resolve this for you. However, we also appreciate this should have been picked up on changeover and so will raise this with the cleaning company. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Property was clean and well equipped although showing signs of age, wallpaper starting to peel in the hall and rugs not lying flat."

Carbon monoxide alarm actuated on Tuesday afternoon, alarm confirmed by moving detector outside to reset and taking indoors again.Doors and windows opened and area ventilated.Sykes informed and maintenance man arrived one hour later. Couldn't fix or determine the problem and couldn't get a maintenance engineer until the following day. Boiler switched off and immersion heater switched on to provide hot water only. As weather was very wet and the prospect of staying in all day with an engineer was not appealing plus uncertainty of source of problem decided to go home early.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your visit but thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we sorted them for you. We both enjoyed Highlands immensely as the property was very well maintained and was immaculate. It’s location with just green fields to the rear and at the top of the estate was superb as it was both quiet and bright and sunny. Excellent parking and location for access to Port Isaac, Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Wadebridge. As a bungalow, everything is on one level so it was excellent for my Mother who needs her rollator. My Mother even found the patio area of the garden was easy to access. Five Stars all round!

  • "The cottage was very comfortable."

The garden was a major disappointment, the grass appeared to not have been cut this year, the rest of the garden was full of large weeds, the fence/hedge had a large hole in it, which we had to block with the garden furniture, to make it safe for our dogs! We could also hear wildlife in the roof space, unfortunately there were no contact details in the cottage, to contact the owner about this. There was no information in the cottage about housekeeping, bins laundry etc.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues with the Garden. Your comments have been passed on to the team at John Bray Cornish Holidays to inspect and resolve. We are also in the process of placing new and updated information packs into our properties.
