  • "Have stayed in this lovely House before ."

Can’t understand why simple things are not catered for … less than last time ?? Why aren’t things NOT replaced .?? We are ( understandably ) asked to diswash items .. but NO dishwasher tablets … not even 1or 2 ?? SO I’d had to buy a whole pack … AND not even a ny washing up liquid .??? How miserably ‘tight’ is that ..? Kitchen equipment needs an overhaul also … PLEASE or at least confirm what you don’t have ???Glasses … do you replace anything … there was more there last year when Our Family stayed ! The Info pack is very limited in info … come on Guys a little more positive constructive info other than telephone nos .. PLEASE ..?? SELL Cornwall to your Guests … Such a lovely location … a few bits of care and attention to detail would NOT go amis OR compromise Your margins . ALL meant with V good intentions

However it was not very clean at all. there was cobwebs, dust everywhere. Under the bed there was dog hair, dust, rubbish including Coke cans and cake wrappers.

  • "Superb location and enclosed garden."

Would re-visit for this alone. On the plus side -the house was great for our needs - 3 double bedrooms all en-suite. It had a nice fireplace and open plan kitchen. On the negative side-it was full of spiders and cobwebs, false nail under our bed etc despite the cleaner leaving as we arrived (we did therefore have to clean and vacuum straight away). There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms, there was no welcome pack/information folder (as per other cottages at this price level) and the electricity tripped numerous times. Fortunately, we were able to find the fuse box and reset. Overall we would return for the location alone, enclosed big garden and en-suites for each bedroom.

Thank you for sharing feedback from your stay at The Coach House. Your comments have been noted and are shared with the owner, our housekeeping and maintenance teams and any areas of concern will be addressed as soon as possible. The garden and patio were very private, large and perfect The property was fine apart from very creaky upstairs floorboards and we wished we had a view of the garden from the living room.

  • "Positive: A beautiful house in a beautiful location with a wonderful enclosed garden."

Negative: 1. Bathroom shower to the main bedroom upstairs was blocked by previous guests, it took until Wednesday afternoon until it was addressed and fixed! 2. Picture 7, 8 and 9 in the property description is misleading! There are no chairs in the property to provide seating at the end of the table! 3. Not enough seating provided for 8 people in the lounge and kitchen! We used the patio chairs (3) inside to accommodate. 4. Parking is good for 4 cars, however when we had 4 cars parked for 1 day and for 1 hour a 5th car, the owner left a message with the Customer Relations Team, any cars over 3 should be parked in the top car park! If we had known this, we would have parked there. It is nowhere mentioned in the information pack online or in the property! 5. Leaving time of 9.30am is too early!

  • "Beautiful cottage had a wonderful holiday."

Just a few suggestions , a welcome pack would have been lovely especially having driven six hours . A few logs so we could light the wood burner would have been nice as well ! . General cleanliness was good but then on getting settled in noticed quite a few cob web’s about . For the money. Paid if these things were addressed would be perfect .

  • "Beautiful, comfortable property set in a peaceful location."

Fantastic garden and outside seating area. Ideal for visiting padstow and the 7 bays. Disappointing not to have a welcome pack of goodies as we have received previously when staying at Sykes cottages or any information about the local area. Some areas of the property could have been cleaned more thoroughly and the dishwasher was not working. These issues were reported to the management company who kept in contacting regarding repairs although these hadn’t happened before we left.

  • "We had a fantastic week at The Coach House: Everything was to a high standard and the interiors were particularly impressive; from the art work, to the bedroom design and the en suites especially."

It felt like a family holiday home not simply a souless holiday let. There were new, very comfy, sofas in the lounge, and the 'snug' upstairs was very much appreciated by the teenagers in the family, plus the wi-fi was excellent, which was essential as there was zero phone signal. The location was perfect - quiet and off the beaten track, but not isolated, and close enough to main roads to travel to Padstow in a few minutes. And the supermarket delivery van found it in pitch black with no problems! The big garden was great, and loved by the children and the dog, and would be amazing in summer. There were a few little niggles with the kitchen equipment and layout, but we're keen cooks and these are very minor, tho' a microwave would be useful. I'd recommend the house to anyone and we would be back again in a heartbeat.

A welcome book would be nice to explain where things are in the house and some local maps. A microwave would have been useful The sofas are very uncomfortable. There were lots and lots of flies and spiders webs a deeper clean would deal with this.

  • "The property was renovated and equipped to a very high standard."

The maintenance and cleanliness however left much to be desired. All the points raised by previous occupants had not been actioned. The outside patio was piled high with blown leafs and the patio furniture could not be used. The front door glass had bird poo smeared across it, all the outside lights did not work, including one broken solar light. Internally the sofas were old and dirty, many bulbs needed replacing in the kitchen area including one internal bank of 3 which needed completely replacing. The fridge fell forward when the door was opened with items in the door, the upstairs shower was leaking through the ceiling, the cooker top had slid back meaning the numbers that you touched for using the hob did not correspond with the number for the respective control, the hoover was full and the cylinder was wedged on which I managed to release and empty. The heating controls were set on holiday which meant it was cold during the night. The biggest problem was there was no welcome pack with instructions on the equipment in the house, the surrounding area or where to walk your dog. Everyone we met kept saying the cottage was surrounded by private land which is odd for cottage boasting dog friendly environment. The Sykes maintenance man called and when shown the items above, was embarrassed and agreed that while the points were minor, collectively it was not very good for the price charged.

  • "We loved the property, especially the social living area and the garden."

Plus all of the bathrooms were beautifully finished. I only have two criticisms. Firstly, there were cobwebs around the external door and all the windows upstairs, and they looked like they had been there a while and they hadn’t been wiped or dusted. Secondly, things like the hand soaps in the bathrooms were empty. Both of these are simple things that would give the property a 5 star rating if they were sorted. Other than that it was gorgeous and we are already considering a return visit!

  • "We enjoyed a short break in mid September at The Coach House."

It was well appointed, in a peaceful rural location with excellent proximity to Trevibban Mill Vineyard. The weather was mixed, with strong winds, we did a lot of walking around the stunning coastline and we were pleased to be able to light the wood burning stove at the house in the evenings. Recommendations to eat out include The Duchy Grub in Higher Harlyn & Four Boys in Rock (via the Padstow ferry). Please be aware that the undercounter fridge nearest the kitchen steps/door is a liability. It is not fixed in securely and tips forward if you load the door compartments. We unfortunately lost a bottle of wine due to this fridge falling forward! Some of the pillows on the beds we used are very lumpy … these could do with replacing. The above elements can easily be made good to make this property great. All in all a lovely break.

Thank you for your lovely comments, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will ask the maintenance department to look at the issue with the fridge. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners Property Owner
