  • "This is a lovely property in a fantastic location."

We stayed here for 7 days and it was beautiful. Very quiet little hamlet which is within 5 minutes from Tintagel and Trebarwith beach. Only negative was it didn't have a coffee machine but that is personal preference! Thank you!

Thanks Dave, you will be reassured that we have just bought a coffee machine as you are the second person to have suggested it! Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay the cottage is excellent with everything thought of to make a stay comfortable."

Really great kitchen which is fully equipped. The only thing there were no logs as was stated for first use of log burner . But we bought some as we wanted to use . Loved it would definitely return , our favourite Sykes cottage .

Hello Susan, we are so pleased you had a lovely stay. We always put out a couple of logs to get people started with the wood burner and enormous apologies if we missed them this time. Not quite perfect - drat! You are always welcome to come back and we will supply extra logs! Property Owner

Lovely enclosed garden for the dogs with a friendly resident toad at night (♥️) and fantastic views. Added specialty was the home made scrumptious chocolate cake to welcome us. Have booked again for next year already.

  • "Lovely cottage, very comfortable and suited our stay with the dog."

Welcome cake was much appreciated. The BBQ came in handy as we had great weather too. 20 mins walk to nearest beach with pub and cafe. Good access for exploring the area, about an hour to walk the coastal path to tintagel.

Thanks for the feedback Paul and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of the beautiful scenery woth your dog - and that the weather was suitable for BBQs. You are welcome back any time! Property Owner

  • "The property was fabulous but we were very disappointed with the garden and garden furniture."

The grass had not been cut and there were so many weeds everywhere. It would be nice to have a couple of loungers too. The sign on the gate needs to be clearer as we passed the property.

Thanks Linda, we are glad you enjoyed the property and your stay. Sorry the grass wasn't cut on your arrival, but we did cut it the next day. Thank you for the positive comments about the property and we hope you had a lovely time! Property Owner

  • "Excellent property in a great location with lovely views to the sea."

The quality of the property and everything in it were first class, can't think of anything we lacked. We had 7 days of walking - mainly the coastal path and on 2 days we were able to use local buses that stop directly outside the property - great not to have to use a car, although a car is necessary to get further a field. The information pack in the property, and provided prior to arrival, was very comprehensive. Would highly recommend this property.

Thanks Neil, we have walked all the coast paths all the way from Padstow up to and past Bude. Absolutely stunning walks. And the bus is surprisingly regular! We are delighted you had a good stay and enjoyed the property. Allways feel free to come and stay again - those cliffs and views aren't going anywhere! Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Chilowan!"

(2 adults, 2 young children and a dog). The house features high quality facilities, we loved the large soft towels, big comfy sofa and crisp cosy bedding. The house was impeccably clean. It is in a fantastic location for visiting a lot of Cornwall, my favourite being St Neclan's Glen which is just around the corner. We also visited The Eden Project, Newquay Aquarium and got the ferry from Rock to Padstow. The beach at Trebarwith Strand is also a great find, with rock pools for the children and dogs. We would definitely return to Chilowan in the future!

Thanks Hayley, we are so pleased you eniyed your stay. You know where we are when you want to come back! Property Owner

  • "I cannot fault the property…immaculate presentation…warm welcome."

The owners have thoughtfully considered their guests needs. I have already recommended ‘Chilowan’ to friends and neighbours. Just a short drive into Tintagel…nice and quiet at this time of year with unusual Christmas gifts at reasonable prices. I would imagine that it is a beautiful location in the summer….away from crowds…where you can relax in various seating areas. Thank you . Elizabeth.

We are so pleased that you had a lovely time Elizabeth! We hope you do get to come back in summer as it is indeed stunning. Please get in touch if you would like to visit again. Thank you for the lovely feedback and wishing you a very enjoyable festive season... Ed and Jude Property Owner

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and within a short distance is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a short but scenic drive.
