  • "Chy Lowena is a lovely cottage."

Very homely and comfortable to relax in. Everything you need. Walks from your door to the coast path. Pub and shop nearby. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • "We have just had the most amazing week at Chy Lowena."

This is a very special property with beautiful interiors that highlight the history of the cottage and area and an attention to detail that you don't often see in other holiday properties. Charming private rear garden, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was a dream, as we always cook when we are away. We arrived to find Cornish biscuits and fresh milk, which was much appreciated after our long journey and the owner kindly contacted us a few days before our arrival to answer any additional questions. Pendeen is perfectly situated to explore this lovely area of Cornwall, with so much to see within a half hour drive in any direction, plus all the stunning local coastal walks. Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return again.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in my Cottage so much, and I do really appreciate your thoughtful comments on the cottage, and your time in it. It is a special part of the world stepped in history and you obviously sensed it and enjoyed it. Thank you and please do come again. Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful cottage, perfect at any time of year."

This was our second visit, this time in March. We were warm and very comfortable, the cottage feels so peaceful, inviting and loved. It’s a great location for walking this rugged and interesting coastline, and the local bus ideal for getting dropped out and walking back. Highly recommend from Sennen. Then a well deserved chill time by the excellent wood burner. Even managed to sit on the bench outside this time, in a pretty little garden. A great property.

Lots of information leaflets and maps in the cottage to help you make the most of your stay. • "We absolutely loved the cottage, it was immaculately clean, it was always warm, the beds were comfortable as were the sofas."

The kitchen was very well equipped. It had a delightfully homely feel about it, we felt like guests in someone's home. The log burner was excellent and we appreciated the logs, kindling and fire starters. The art work enhances the feel of it being a home. Pretty little garden with amazing walks on the doorstep. The following things are non essential but would have been welcomed - a welcome pack on arrival, a dishwasher tablet and washing machine capsule, an extra toilet roll, hot water bottles and a pouffe (really would have liked this). The one thing that was a little difficult was the shower over the bath - whilst the shower worked beautifully the height of the bath sides made access a little awkward. It would be wonderful if this fabulous cottage had a walk in shower.

  • "We (2 adults and 1 child) spent a blissful Christmas break here and would highly recommend."

The cottage is very well equipped with everything you might need and is also warm and cosy. It feels like someone's home rather than an impersonal place. There is room to park one car directly outside the cottage and room for more cars in the car park located very nearby. There are lots of local walks, places to explore and wildlife to spot (like seals, cormorants and terns). There's also a bus stop close by if you wanted to ditch the car and go to Penzance or St Ives for the day. A great find and we will certainly be back.

Thankyou! I’m so happy that you enjoyed your Christmas in the cottage. Please do come again. Property Owner

Probably the cleanest cottage I’ve ever stayed in! So well presented, comfy and lots of little touches that made it so special. Loved walking to watch the sunset near the lighthouse each evening. Neighbours were friendly and helpful. Encourage everyone to leave the car and use the bus (near the shop) to explore the coast and towns all day for only £5! Comfortable and warm with all the facilities we needed. Perfectly located for us to pop into Penzance to see our family and to St Just where we have spent so many happy times, visiting our old haunts and those of our forbears. Good location. Owner Ann very helpful . Plenty to do or visit close by, in fact hardly used the car. Pub in next village superb food as is the commercial in St. Just. A hand rail would be useful alongside the bath and a small welcome pack with tea and milk would have been appreciated, other than that all made for a relaxing holiday.

  • "Stayed in Chy Lowena for a week in September."

The cottage was exactly as advertised and did not disappoint in any way and looked exactly as the photographs. Beautiful and very comfortable living room with a traditional dining area and nice kitchen. The utility area was great for storing boots and fishing gear. Whilst we only used the main bedroom this was very comfortable and had good storage. At over 6ft I did have to duck to get through some of the upstairs doors but this should be expected in a traditional cottage. Location was great and a10 minute walk got us to both on the pubs in the village and a 15-20 minute drive to Penzance. Loved our stay at the cottage and this is definitely one to return to.

The olde worlde charm is quite something, the fireplaces are wonderful and at the opposite end of the spectrum the WiFi was extremely reliable! The cottage had everything that we could have wanted and the trek to the lighthouse and Boat Cove was a lovely afternoon walk. Would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys a blast from the past, but with home comforts. The only disappointment was due to the lockdown closures of the nearby tin mines which was on our "wanted" list. Wonderful little corner of the world!

  • "Excellent cottage - super comfy, cosy and quiet as well as very well appointed."

Netflix was a nice touch, and the owner was very quick to respond to queries and she sent some great recommendations for places to eat in the area. I'd suggest booking tables in advance even in off peak times! Excellent location for exploring this area of Cornwall - Pendeen isn't as touristy as St Ives etc so it definitely felt more 'authentic'. Look up in the garden at night for shooting stars - just magical! Parking just off the road was VERY handy as most roads are very narrow. Mousehole, St Just, Newlyn all nearby and fab. This was a perfect base for our week in Cornwall and I'd highly recommend staying here. I was very disappointed Sykes didn't get in touch when the second lockdown was announced to explain the implications for our stay while we were there; they seemed to leave this to the owner to communicate, but luckily for us Ann was very helpful. However it's an odd time and the rest of the booking process was very smooth.
