  • "We had a lovely day at Ella's Pottery and were warmly welcomed by Matt, the owner."

He also provided a delicious cream tea for us on arrival! The property was very comfortable, beautifully done and exceptionally clean with everything you could want for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The grounds were stunning with a delightful stream running round the edge of the property - our little dog loved running round and splashing in the water! The nearby beaches, stunning walks, restaurants and cafes were all great and Matt helped us with recommendations. We paid a visit to the nearby Tate St Ives and the Kurt Jackson Gallery in St Just. I would thoroughly recommend Ella's Pottery and the owners! Thank you for a lovely stay! Jo and Chris

  • "A lovely place for a couple and a dog to spend some peaceful days in very green surroundings."

If lucky, you can spot a deer as well - we did. The owners do take good care and give a personal touch by welcoming and seeing off the guests. It was a very pleasant interaction with Matt, the owner.

  • "What a lovely little gem!"

So peaceful with fantastic grounds to take a stroll in, plus it's ideally located for trips out to various places of interest. Very clean and well equipped, comfy and cosy if you get a rainy day, or throw the doors open and enjoy the weather if it's fine. The hosts are very personable and have worked very hard to make this sweet little building so welcoming.

  • "The property and the setting were of a very high standard and the attention to detail in the cottage itself was excellent."

The setting is wonderfully tranquil whilst at the same time providing a great space for an active dog to be able to play safely under supervision. The owners of the property were friendly and approachable and extremely helpful when our car broke down, providing us with a jump start and the contact number for a local garage when we needed further help. The only slight niggle would be that both my husband and I struggled to access both the internet and 4G whilst we were in the cottage, and had to organize ourselves to use this when we were out and about because the area where the cottage is has intermittent internet access and links with Vodaphone rather than other mobile networks. I think this is important for would-be visitors to know in case they need to access these resources for their work or business whilst away. However, this would not deter us from staying here again in the future. Superb accommodation, setting, and support from owners.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. Had you let us know you were having trouble with the WiFi, we would have been more than happy to help. It was a simple fix as something had inadvertently been switched off! Property Owner

  • "Ella’s Pottery is a perfect choice for a couple wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday in beautiful West Cornwall."

Very accessible for Penzance, Lands End, etc. The property is tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you could need for self catering. The weather didn’t allow when we stayed, but outside there is plenty of space to sit and eat al fresco and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The underfloor heating was a treat. Our hosts, Matt and Verity, were very friendly and welcoming (as far as possible in these strange times). Would have no hesitation in returning and/or recommending.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
