  • "This cottage along with the grounds it sits in were perfect for our visit to Cornwall."

The cottage offered everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and because of Maureen's attention to detail the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and more. We will hopefully be back soon to explore more of the area.

  • "Where do I begin?"

The place is amazing, Maureen is amazing, and it is very clear she adores dogs - our dog got the biggest welcome and was spoilt from the off with treats and toys. Each cottage has its own gate onto a large, shared field where you can walk your dog and play fetch - on our break, we had the field all to ourselves as none of our neighbours had a dog or at least, those that dig had other fields of their own. Considering pets are welcome the place is spotless. No dust, everything smelled lovely, fresh clean linen, perfectly clean bathroom and kitchen. Honestly, I cannot stress enough how clean the place was inside and out you'd have to see it to believe it. The attention to detail is fabulous too; a fire was already laid out in the hearth ready to light, we were welcomed with a cream tea and milk in the fridge. There were towels and dressing gowns available just for use with the hot tub. The hot tub itself was already nice and warm and we were given a lesson on its usage. The garden was lovely and peaceful. It catches the rays all day long too and there are sun lounges, tables and chairs a plenty to take advantage. For those who use it, the internet is fast; each cottage has its own Wi-Fi network, and it appears to use a microwave link back to the main house which has a near perfect performance. We happily stream 4K television while we were there, it never stuttered once. I did not test the latency, but I suspect it is low enough to game - not that I am suggesting you game while on holiday in Cornwall as there is plenty to do. If it helps, and for those who use it, the entrance is at; ///innovator.simulates.plug - I didn't see this on any of the sites - Google maps has the place listed correctly but for those who use alternative sat nav systems on their phones the above may help. Thank you Maureen for a superb visit. We hope to return one day.

  • "Had a wonderful week away over New Year despite the weather being dire."

Be Our Guest is beautifully decorated and equipped and had everything we needed for us and our two little dogs. The garden is fully secure even for our tiny miniature dachshunds. We didn't use the dog walking field behind the cottage as unfortunately, our dogs are divas and don't do wet tummies. We didn't know how to access it, but Maureen soon showed us. We hadn't appreciated it was accessible from the garden. We only used the hot tub once as it was raining every other day, but it was lovely. The dogs loved the selection of toys Maureen had left but sadly they weren't able to eat the treats left for them as one of our dogs is on a special diet. Sofa is lovely and comfy as is the bed. We slept very well all week. Absolutely loved the bath! We had organised a food delivery which worked really well, they had no trouble finding the place. Only downside for us was we had got held up by traffic so we didn't arrive until after dark and got lost. Quick phone call to Maureen and she gave us directions. The outside light wasn't working either which made unpacking a challenge, but we didn't venture out after dark again so it wasn't an issue. We will return I am sure and hopefully in the better weather.

We stayed in Phoenix 1st time which was amazing. Be our guest cottage is just beautiful clean, comfortable and spacious. We visited St Ives, Newquay and Perranporth all within half hour of the cottage. The hot tub is huge and after a day of walking with the dogs, there's nothing like relaxing in the tub. The only downside is leaving, I wasn't ready to come back home

, Maureen and John made us most welcome and the cottage had a lovely homely, welcoming feel. It was immaculately presented and as comfortable as home., accurately described as on your website. The only minor feedback comment we have is that we found there was not enough hooks on the back of the bathroom door to hang used towels and the bathrobes which would have proved useful especially after using the additional towels for the hot tub. Thank you. Gill and Steve Jansen.

The booking was easy and the communication from Maureen prior to our stay and upon meeting us at the property was exceptional. Such a nice lady who is very thoughtful. This place is a real home from home, if you need it they will have it. It was spotlessly clean with some wonderful touches for the Christmas stay, not only for us but for our 2 German Shepherds too. The bed was super comfy, the hot tub was amazing, and everything was provided to make our Christmas lunch so we didn't need to rush around or worry about not having a turkey! The enclosed field was safe and perfect for letting the pooches have a run. We loved the peace and quiet too, but it is not too remote as it is only a short drive to the main supermarkets. 10/10 Perfect and thank you. In fact, we loved it so much that we are going back for Christmas 2023

Was good for dogs with a fully enclosed garden (one gate at side of property had a gap under it which small dogs would fit through) and the adjacent dog field was great for exercising and keeping dogs entertained. The accommodation was very comfortably furnished. Such thoughtfulness went into the accommodation - arriving to cream tea; cold bottle of wine in fridge was much enjoyed; the bits and pieces in kitchen and bathroom just in case you forgot anything critical.

!! It is obvious why the site has won awards in the past!! Every little detail was thought of, with household products, tea/coffee/milk etc provided for us for that all important brew after a long journey. Maureen called us a couple times on route to check our arrival time and that we didn’t need further directions, which was a lovely touch. She even directed us to the nearest take away as we arrived so late due to traffic, which was a God send! Maureen was even annoyed we hadn’t told her we got married the day earlier, and insisted that we had a bottle of champagne as a congratulations, and would not take no for an answer!! And it was one of the best drinks we’ve had in a long time. This was such a lovely gesture, and not expected at all!!

It's brilliant, lots of love went into the decor and it's so well presented too. The owner provided lots of little things such as cream tea and some milk, tea and coffee and some toiletries which you normally don't get elsewhere. It's dog friendly so this made it perfect for us and the owner also had dog treats and towels left for the dogs. Dogs can't be left alone but I guess that's understandable as it's not their own environment. It's close to the Perranporth beach only 10 minutes drive. Owners on site in her own home but she gives you privacy after meeting you and she is super friendly and helpful. Hot tub has lights surrounding the tub and garden. The owner even provided a bluetooth speaker. Roll top Bath was a lovely experience. The experience made us rebook to another cottage on site for next year. Benson and Toby my dogs gave it 10/10.

We were welcomed with open arms by Maureen who owns the cottages, she showed us around and then left us to it, she came to check the hot tub daily, however she is clever with her timings and we we really didn't see that much of her. We had a beautiful cream tea and other goodies and essentials left by her to welcome us. This lady has thought of everything in her cottages, and you would be hard pushed to find something she hasn't. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, and every room follows suit. The sofas, the bed, towels and linens are all quality, and certainly not what we expected when bringing our dog with us. The garden is private with a beautiful hot tub and access to a field via a gate in the garden, which was perfect to take our boy for a run in, he had a fantastic time here, there were dog bowls, blankets, towels, treats and a box of toys for him to play with, when I say everything has been thought of, it truly has. Although there are other cottages on this property, you would not think this, you can spend all day in your garden and not hear a thing apart from birds singing, peaceful and relaxing were the words my husband and I used regularly. There are some beautiful beaches around that are dog friendly and Truro is only a short drive away, there are ample places to visit, and the information pack that is left for you to read allows you to see all the beaches in Cornwall and if they are dog friendly, how close the different shops are and other information to help you have a wonderful stay. Would we return for another holiday? absolutely, we didn't want to leave and return to reality.
