  • "Flat had dog smells on all rugs & in both bedrooms so clearly previous customers have allowed dogs in bedrooms."

Hoover also stank of dog. Master bed had numerous dog treats left under it. Maintenance man there several days but no communication - we had to dodge dynorod & the entrance left with a bin over where the floor had been taken up & the smell of raw sewage for 3 days. Noise from the high street was horrendous from the various bars & nightclubs Thursday - Monday which was then taken over by traffic noise & delivery lorries. Had the door buzzer pressed by drunken people passing by during the early hours. Had to purchase earplugs but even with these , we had little sleep. Flat was very warm but couldn’t open the windows due to all the noise outside. Fan in bathroom isn’t powerful so after showers , the room is wet through. Tv in front room is very temperamental Basic cooking equipment. Car parking also horrendous - an extra expense after an overpriced & disappointing accommodation.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we have passed on your points to the housekeeping team. Unfortunately there seemed to be an emergency that Dynorod had to deal with. Helston can have a healthy hustle bustle of a town so can be lively at times. Property Owner

  • "Ideal for anyone who is deaf."

For everyone else, the combination of a busy road junction, the Town Hall clock opposite chiming every hour, and carousing drunks until about 3am on Friday and Saturday nights is likely to severely impact on the ability to sleep. The property desperately needs double- or triple-glazing. The listing stated that parking was free overnight at the nearby car park and £2 per day - in reality it is now charged 24/7 at £4.60 for 12 hours.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay at The Stannary. We are sorry to hear about the night time noise during some of your stay and will look in to ways to improve this. Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at the Stannary and gave to admit that after our fabulous first stay we were disappointed."

The apartment was not is a clean state, there was lots of dust on top of picture frames, four frames, skirting etc. there were marks on the walls as if a fizz pop had exploded and the bathroom had been ‘surface’ cleaned but when sat in the bath and looking up the shower & poles were dirty. When I went to put a wash load on, the cupboard door fell off because it was only attached by a magnet and the door had come away from the door hinges. As we were worried this would fall off and injury our daughter or our dog, my husband went to the DIY shop over the road and bought things to fix it with. On another note, it would be helpful to have the address and postcode of the apartment clearly stated in the handbook in the section about where the nearest hospital etc is. My husband had a stroke on the Tuesday morning whilst eating breakfast and when I dialled 999 I was unable to find the information needed. Thank you. Eve Andrew

  • "The Stannary was a lovely apartment and had all we needed for our weekend away."

The only downside is that it is in the middle of the town next to a late opening pub/nightclub and both Friday and Saturday night we were kept awake by shouting and fighting from 2am until 5amish. All in all it was lovely and would stay again in the Stannary if we could move it's location!!

  • "The property was lovely clean but feel it’s not for someone with disability about the stairs they was to steep."

And we found it very noisy outside to 3 nights of the week, people gathering opposite the apartment until early hours found it very hard to relax.I wouldn’t stay there again but would recommend it to the younger generation. We had problems with the hod couldn’t cook and the lounge TV wasn’t to good I had to keep trying switch it off then back on very hard when socket behind TV. Otherwise was ok

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay at The Stannary. We are sorry to hear about the night time noise during some of your stay and will ensure the hob and TV is looked into. Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful place we have found!"

This apartment is absolutely beautiful and the location is great - right in the centre of town and just a short walk down hill from the £2 per day carpark. It was initially difficult to find as there are no 'outside' photos included but for anyone booking it is on the corner of Coinage Street - the door in-between the estate agents and Helston Escape Rooms. The apartment lost a point for comfort as on a Friday and Saturday night it is extremely noisy until around 3am with music and people leaving local venues, it did not bother our 7 year old but did wake my husband and I. Apart from the noise this is an ideal place and we have booked our return visit! Oh and The Meadry a few doors up is delicious!!!

Hi Eve, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We will try to update the access information so that the property location is clearer for guests. We look forward to welcoming you again soon :) Property Owner

  • "This is without doubt one of the nicest holiday properties you could ever wish to stay."

The attention to detail by the owners is exceptional and the 'little touches' set this apart from other properties we have stayed in. Along with a welcome pack, we were provided toiletries, pampering kits and everything else we could need. The standard of the finish is amazing, lovely big bed, quality bedding etc. The bathroom is great, with a super shower! We would have given The Stanneries a 5* review but there are a couple of things which slightly took the gloss off of our stay, which are nothing to do with the standard of the property itself but should be pointed out. The flat is situated right on the junction of the 2 main streets in Helston so there is a fair bit of noise from traffic and pedestrians. The Guild Hall us directly opposite and has the 'Town Hall clock' which chimes on the hour all through the night, a lovely feature but unfortunately it is only about 10 yards from the bedroom windows. Expect some noise from people leaving pubs etc. Parking is a short walk away in Wendron Street but be aware you need to get your ticket before 8.00 (only £2 for whole day) or you could get a fine. All in all this is a lovely property and everything you could need is provided, many thanks to the owners and Sykes Cottages for a very nice short stay

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with such lovely feedback. You were amongst the first guests to stay in the property and therefore feedback is really appreciated. We are overjoyed to hear that you rate the property so highly and we hope to welcome you back soon :) Property Owner
